Getting things done and moving forward.
Picking up "prizes" for someone just to make them smile. Making it thru yesterday (anniversary of Momma D leaving this world) without a meltdown. Bluebirds Checking in on my roomie's mom, and laughing together about her current craving for "minner cheese" sandwiches, then laughing together again about her husband. Hearing her in good spirits. And hearing her tender response when I invited her to join me at the Salon this evening so we could "scrub" her scalp good. (Which is hard to do with a cast on her arm). Cuddles with all 4 of my dogs. My knucklehead roomie waiting till I got home to send me a text about needing lunch. And...it's finally warm enough to wear sandals!! |
Getting a lot of work this week...it's either feast or famine. But I'm not complaining! :D

Talking, laughing, eating, and drinking for hours together. Mother-daughter tattoo trips. |
I met the most lovely woman at the DMV today. We talked for over and hour before she was called up. I learned who she is, where she works, what she hates about her job, where she lives, that she wants/needs knee replacement surgery on both knees, she takes both oral and injectable insulin for her diabetes, she eats every 2-3 hours from anxiety connected to her job, her husband has a barely used Nordic machine in the basement and won't buy her a hot tub, they got screwed over by AAA (they left her husband out in the cold for over 4 hours before he decided to drive the car home on his own.....with no brakes) and that she wants a new car but she doesn't know if she'll be able to work for the next 5 years as she's 62 now. We discussed how freakin' slow the process was and how hard this winter has been. She also had the cutest hot pink and peach sneaks on that I may secretly covet just a little bit.
It was so nice to connect with a living, breathing human being today. |

My day has been filled with smiles, laughter and feel good moments!!! Even thru my physical pain I was able to enjoy my entire day..including...taking walks at the lake at my own pace, my dog doing silly things that crack me up and someone buying me treats (ice cream and strawberry Gatorade) on my way home.
Smiles, genuine laughter and reasons to be thankful are good healing medicine. |
Yesterday, I was told by a counselor at work that a student I worked with briefly two or three years ago was telling her how much she liked me and remembered me.
Today, my son was trying on a drag queen friends high heeled boots... I got pictures, with hand on hip and everything. |
Being asked to be the godmother of the most incredible 2 month old twins! Wow!

No, I didn't cheat on my diet. But I do wish I had powdered donuts instead of carrots. No, I didn't cheat on my tests. No, I didn't (and would never cheat) on a sweetheart. But I did cheat.... I brought my heating pad to camp...to me that's cheating, as I'm supposed to "suck it up" to get by with bare little....my days of rustic camping are long over. My poor bones need heat. Now I'm smiling for how sweet it is....camping in a BEAUTIFUL place and so comfortable. |
Coming home from work to a clean house...
Knowing I'm capable of taking care of myself and have to depend on no one else to fulfill my needs The just enough discomfort from my wicked hike yesterday...it was so nice to challenge myself As ever, the mountaind and my adorable little lamb dog AND Finding out Jacques and Cricket's pup, Nate, needs a new home..it would be nice to have their offspring joy our happy home :) |
