preparing for the empty nest syndrome
 

This years baby eagle duo should be fledging very soon. After watching them since their birth in Feb, the empty nest is going to suck.

In preparation, someone made this beautiful tribute to last years single baby eagle.

If you watch it, pay attention at the 12:42 minute mark. Here Dad is coming into the nest with a fish. A very hungry and excited baby bumps into him and the fish falls out of the nest. Next you will see what a baby eagle temper tantrum looks like. Not pretty but very cute.

Chatting with my baby sister about taking a fall time trip around NC and TN in her new 31 foot RV...very exciting especially since she's gonna try to get my son from Colorado for a few days.

I must have a familiar face. Three times in the past couple of weeks people have stopped me thinking that they know me.

Today I was getting into my car as a sweet, older lady in the spot next to me was getting out of hers. I smiled at her as I normally do when making eye contact with a stranger. She started waving wildly and I waved back. Then she came up to my window, which I had rolled down, and acknowledged me as "Beth!" She finally realized I was not Beth.

The whole thing was pretty funny, and she and I both got a laugh out of it.

I would have to say the encouragement and High fives given for the past 5 days. Makes you feel really GREAT inside when people appreciate you for your hard work.

Anything can be accomplished. :tea: :nixon:

I'm sitting at Tractor Supply waiting on them to open, watching a FB video of hummingbirds sitting on a heating pad that someone used to thaw out the feeders to keep warm. Toooo sweet

Room service, is overrated. Alas, not when the hotel is comping you! :wine:

A hot shower after an amazing day... :)

Saw a dime on the sidewalk and picked it up... felt all chocked-up-nostalgic and old when I realised that pretty soon (maybe even now), kids wont know what it is to find a "lucky penny".

And you know what? "lucky dime" just doesn't cut it...it's so charmless...has no magic to it... besides, who'd ever offer you a "dime for your thoughts"

So, yes, I did smile when I found that dime but I didn't really mean it.

Breakfast served country style! Bowl after bowl of eggs grits gravy jam home fries sausage buscuits....heaven in a bowl!

for the first time in weeks all my kids are home this AM. I got to play a real momma and made breakfast (when I say kids these days it includes my oldest boyfriend..who I happen to really love). Life is good

I saw a commercial for Wells Fargo...of all things...

these 2 women were learning sign language...and at the end you realize they are a couple and adopting a daughter who is hearing impaired....

It did my heart good on many levels <3
