This thread reminds me I forgot to take something out. So I think a hot ham and cheese sandwich sounds really good right now.

Actually I came to this thread for an idea on what to have Secunia like Jagg I forgot to take something out of the freezer.

Had hummus, Brie, crackers and low-fat milk. Weird dinner but it was what I felt like eating.

I'm thinking breakfast for dinner sounds pretty good....

crispy bacon
fried eggs
toast
and fresh fruit

macele 10-09-2012 10:17 AM

where i come from ... we say dinner and supper. dinner being lunch and supper being dinner. i'm sure a lot of you grew up saying the same.

but i don't say it that way much any more. sometimes it slips, but i don't mind.

i don't think i've ever shared my dinner menu with you all. this is a first. ...

baked chicken
butter beans
greens
cornbread

dessert, i don't know yet. might just be cornbread and milk.

PinkieLee, i love to have breakfast for dinner. great!

Sure!

Moroccan garbanzo beans and raisins - This would serve 4-6 depending on serving size...

• 4 c cooked brown rice
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 large onion, sliced
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 c diced winter squash
• ¼ c raisins
• 1c veg broth
• 1 tsp ground turmeric
• ½ tsp ground ginger
• 2c cooked garbanzo beans

In a 3 quart saucepan, heat oil over med heat. Add sliced onion and garlic. Cook 4-5 minutes until onions are tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, except for beans.
Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 8 minutes, stirring until squash is tender. Stir in beans.
Bring up to heat.
Serve over rice.

last night we had Cicis Pizza and tonight it was leftover bbq chicken cut up and brown rice and some pico de gallo. we split the last slice of key lime pie for dessert. tomorrow looks like cheese pizza she brought home from work because they had leftovers.
