My sister is a hoarder. When she moved, I said i would take some of her stuff and store it in my garage. Some months later, I am the one going thru it and sorting it out and getting rid of things one way or another. Painless for her. Damn shitty job for me but its another way to serve her for the countless things she has done for me.

I have two tables in my house and I sit at neither of them to eat.

I am getting a housemate in Sept. A young, straight male. Can you imagine? He is the fiance of one of my former 4H kids who is now in college and her BF needed a place to live short term until he gets settled in Ytown. Its perfect timing because he is going to help me when I am getting my surgery.

I am now addicted to that dang game in the arcade..with the colored bubbles. I spend hours playing it. And I NEVER played arcade games before. I might try one now and then but have resisted. I am hooked on that one now.

I am still obsessed about horses.

It feels like autumn, and that makes me very happy. I love the chill in the air and the comfort of my jeans and long sleeves.

I have lost 17 lbs and am easily into another size down. It's very gratifying. I hope, by winter, my medical tests will be improved, too. My partner and I are doing this together--she's lost more than 20 lbs. So proud of us.

My favorite skin care line is Jafra. I finally found a distributor--several states away. No matter. He's wonderful. My next treat will be the Royal Jelly Milk Balm.

In the past two weeks, my daughter moved from NY to Florida for her first "real" job and the start of her adult life. I am so proud of her, I feel like bursting!

I turned 50 earlier this month, and my sweetie gave me a party with some of our local friends. It was a surprise party, and I was surprised! xo

i get pedicures every 3 weeks- always hot pink. and i just found hot pink with glitter so i will now be taking my own nail polish with me

i have 21 jars of pickles that i made that have cured long enough to be eaten.help!

i just added 2 new tattoos to myself- my oncologist gave me a 2 week window where i could get ink. i went that night. she asked me last week to design a tattoo for her. i'm not gonna lie i feel very honored.

i hate capital letters.

i think that my therapist and hospice nurse are actually angels and i bet if they get a cut they bleed gold. they are amazing women who i could not live without.

I loath canned tuna and dont even start me on canned chicken

I am highly suspicious of people who are instant bonders.

I bought a dart board today. Its part of my stress reduction. Yes, I am going to post photos on it...lol....

I am so damned glad I no longer have menses and am ever so grateful for menopause

I have someone locally who SO wants to date me. I am trying my damndest to make her understand we are friends but she is literally sitting it out, waiting for me to be ready to date. Sighing....its not going to happen...

I am a sucker for a pretty sundress

my hair is so long now I can twist it to the side and wrap it up in a pony tail

I turn the sound off on my computer when I play that cursed colored ball game. The sound wakes my dog up and startles her

I am going to go to a drumming weekend in WV. In fact, *shimmmer* I am camping!

because my surgery was delayed a week, I get to go our county fair which is the largest county fair on this side of the Mississippi. No, true!

five more..

  1. I am colorblind. Out of the six of us in my family growing up, the four of us that were color blind would out-vote the other two and there's not much you can do when majority rules (Yes, the neighbor's cat was green).
  2. Even though I'm colorblind, I worked for several years as a graphic artist and none of my fellow designers knew.
  3. I was on an Olivia cruise where they were shooting the L Word. I knew someone on staff, so ended up being an extra (in 5 or 6 shots) and best of all, got to literally stand just over the director's shoulder for most of the scenes on-board. Since I am into filmmaking, it was one of my favorite vacations.
  4. I've been fortunate enough to have played on national championship teams in two different sports. (college softball and rugby)
  5. I came out in college on a beach in Santa Monica with 15 other naked women. However, the story is funnier than it is sexy.

NJFemmie 08-24-2010 10:17 AM

I've been obsessed the last few months with finding out about my parent's past. They never spoke about where they were during the Holocaust, and I've made it my mission to retrieve as much information as I can. I may never know details, but I will hopefully find some of their footprints. The waiting part however, is a bitch.

On that note, I am patient, but not all the time. My patience depends on what I am waiting for. For the most part, I am more patient than not, and that seems to amaze some people.

I haven't had a pepsi in over four days. It's been replaced by ginger ale.

Ham and cheese is my favorite deli sandwich. Dry, no condiments. I just had one for lunch.

I'm an "observer". I can sit in a public place for hours just watching people. If nothing else, it confirms just how strange people are. (Some) People are quite entertaining.

:) I'm very spontaneous
:) Bra and panties have to match always
:) I love drive in movies
:) I'm really feeling the urge to get another dog
:) I really do believe that big laughs keeps you young

Write14u 08-24-2010 11:58 AM

1. Change has been my constant companion the past month.
2. I have some of the best friends in the world. The truly rock.
3. It's 74 and breezy outside. Not used to that in August.
4. I've had a Twitter account for a while, but only lately, I've been tweeting a lot. I'm pretty much addicted to it now. Probably because a good number of my friends are on it and also tweeting nonsense.
5. I have the ability to work in the midst of chaos.

NJFemmie 08-24-2010 12:34 PM

I don't tweet, am not a big fan of Facebook, and only used myspace to play games and use applications. I'm not a big fan of social networking sites. (Yet, I do have a Twitter account, a Facebook account, and obviously a Myspace account, go figure.)

I'm enjoying this cool weather we're having. I shouldn't have worn shorts today.

I've been craving Chinese Food again. More specifically, a spring roll.

I am the proud owner of a ping pong table. Now I just have to teach Max how to play when Mare isn't around.

I'm a big kid at heart. Laughter, fun, taking things in stride - IMO - are the key factors to living.

Sparkle 08-25-2010 07:16 AM

Hello BFP

I often crave lemon/lemon-flavored things; and detest anything banana/banana flavored.

I have very crooked pinky fingers

I worked for Sir Ian McKellan when I lived in London

I love reading aloud.

I'm often told people hear me laughing/my laugh, long before they ever see me/find me (in a crowd, down the block etc) - this never fails to make me *quietly-happy*

ravfem 08-25-2010 08:20 AM

-i don't tweet unless i'm singing "Rockin Robin" :choir:

-i love trance music :violin:

-i recently discovered i have "knucklehead syndrome" (well i mean i've always had it i just didn't know what it was called) :wallbreak:

-i'm planning on bribing Medusa with snickers to make sure the next reunion is in the southeast :chocolate:

-i don't regret a minute of the last 5 months :stillheart:

:koolaid:

~ My friends and I always debate who among us is the most warped. With an email I shot out about 3 minutes ago, I believe I won the contest. <G>

~ Speaking of friends, I'm fortunate enough to live across the street from my two best friends.

~ I'm a wicked multitasker.

~ I hate the word "biotch." Seriously. WTF??

~ I love the word "twatwaffle." I use it frequently to describe people I don't like.

Kenna 08-25-2010 10:31 AM

You will never see me on roller skates, roller blades or ice skates... (just imagine what a duck or horse looks like on those darn things!)

I was once a very avid mountain biker (before back injury) and have AMAZING calf & leg muscles & ass cheeks to prove it. I love my "cut" calf muscles. (note to self: MUST tone up those muscles so I can keep them lookin' damn sexy)

I HATE onions!!! It gets on my nerves when everyone always gives me a hard time about hating onions.

When completely alone (and no fear of neighbors or peeping toms) I love to run around the house with very little clothes on.... and after my chest surgery, I HATE to wear bras (because of the scars and because I CAN get away without one! *note to my sister...I know you hate having "fried eggs", but DAMN it's so much better than the weight I carried for years...plus, they look great "perky"!)

A very long time ago, when my apartment didn't have AC and I was lounging in my living room "in the buff", I caught a peeping tom (someone who was later found to be a neighborhood predator/stalker of young women when they were home alone) on my front deck...then the neighbors had to call the cops on ME to keep me from beating him to a pulp and having him pinned to the ground with his arm twisted behind his back before they got there. (he walked with a limp for a long time after that)

chefhottie25 08-25-2010 01:50 PM

five things no one would know...
i sleep with a stuffed monkey
my dad spoils me
i have been clean for 2 years tomorrow
i suck at saving money
i secretly wish i was better at making pastries

Kätzchen 08-26-2010 12:17 AM

- I gave up wearing traditional perfumes, years ago (propellant agents in them set off my allergies). Instead, I prefer to wear escential oils - I have worn "Dragons Blood" for years; and on ocassion, I like the scent of "Y'Lang Y'Lang & Jasmine" - both scents are custom made, signature fragrances that I purchase at a woman owned business in Portland - down in the Hawthorne Dist. (link)

- I've been walking daily now for a couple of weeks: Walking more than I have in the past and I have lost some weight (about 7 pounds, so far). I walk about 5 miles (or more) and I drink at least 2 Qts of water a day and about a quart of electrolytes when I am doing my walking routine.

- I like apples (3x/dy). I placed an order for a box of winesap apples from the farmers market this evening and can hardly wait until they get here! They are my favorite apple! They are crisp and succulent - I think they taste like the perfect slice of apple pie. Not too tart and they are perfectly sweet! *yum*

- I want to trim my hair very carefully and I was going to do it today (just like I was going to wax my kitchen floor) - but I am waiting to do it tomorrow because I ended up sleeping a lot today. My plan is to wash my hair first, let it air dry, trim it, then wash my hair again: My floor waxing method is similar - wash it, let it dry, wax it, let it dry. <G>

- I like the way my sheets and blankets smell after I have washed them and let them dry on the clothesline outside... I also like how crisp and clean they feel, too!

Were you beating him to a pulp while still in the buff? :sunglass:

Abigail Crabby 08-26-2010 02:39 AM

I love onions - sometimes I'll fry up onions and that's all I have for dinner

I love liver - I'm a liver lover and I'm proud :sunglass:

I love pretty dresses - and have been collecting patterns for next spring, and have a real want to start sewing again.

I'd rather be alone than *hook up* to avoid being lonely

I may regret every moment I wasted of the last two years of my life -
but I can't change the past so I'm now focused on the future.

NJFemmie 08-26-2010 03:06 AM

I suffer from allergies all year long. Allergy meds don't help 100%, but it's saved me from getting severely sick for the last several+ years.

I'm not a big fan of onions. I "kind of" like them on some things, but they give me heartburn from hell. I do like how they smell when they're being cooked. On that note, there are many things that smell great when they're being cooked, but I don't like how they taste. I tend to think something's amiss between my nose, brain and taste buds.

Even though I don't like to eat certain things, I'll make them for Mare because I know She likes them. I'll just "pick them off" or make sure She gets double portions.

I've always been a little claustrophobic, but I think it's getting a bit worse with age. While we were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, the closed water slide freaked me out more than it normally would. What a #*@$&^ bummer.

I enjoy traveling and enjoy the fact that I've been doing more of it recently. We're planning another trip and I am stoked.

AtLast 08-26-2010 04:50 AM

Being crazy for someone and getting the same back is something I do miss, yet feel fortunate in knowing I have had this.

I enjoy conversations about the past with elderly people.

I love veggies and hate fruit.

One of my favorite things to do is cook for friends.... it's about nurturing...

I love to build things, but can get frustrated because I tend to be a perfectionist.
