Meet the model with Down Syndrome who has made history.

She is simply gorgeous!

Jamie Brewer just made fashion history.

The American actress, best known for her role in the FX series American Horror Story, was the first model with Down syndrome to walk in New York Fashion Week on Thursday. She wore an original design by Carrie Hammer.

Brewer graced the runway as part of Hammer’s Role Models Not Runway Models campaign, through which the designer tries to represent the real women who purchase her clothes. Hammer started the campaign at last year's Fashion Week; the first show featured her friend, Danielle Sheypuk, who uses a wheelchair.

“Young girls and even young women ... and say, 'Hey, if she can do it, so can I,'" Brewer told Today. "It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to in being who they are, and showing who they are."

<snip>

Hammer was inspired to start Role Models Not Runway Models after she received an email from Katie Driscoll, cofounder of the nonprofit Changing the Face of Beauty, which advocates for the inclusion of people with disabilities in media and advertising. Driscoll's daughter, Grace, was born with Down syndrome, and she wrote to Hammer asking her to feature a role model for Grace.

Millennials ditching their TV's at a record rate.

The biggest TV drama among millennials is playing off screen.

So far this season, younger viewers, the most important audience for advertisers, have ditched their TV sets at more than double the rate of previous years, new Nielsen figures show.

Traditional TV usage — which has been falling among viewers ages 18 to 34 at around 4 percent a year since 2012 — tumbled 10.6 percent between September and January.

In the era of smartphones and Netflix, it’s no surprise that traditional TV is losing relevance for younger viewers. But the sudden acceleration is alarming to even the most seasoned analysts.

“The change in behavior is stunning. The use of streaming and smartphones just year-on-year is double-digit increases,” Alan Wurtzel, NBCUniversal’s audience research chief, told The Post. “I’ve never seen that kind of change in behavior.”

If they went to all the trouble of taking the snow to a snow farm (where they presumably don't have to worry about flooding), why can't they just let it melt on its own?

I'm sure there's a perfectly logical answer; I just don't know what it is. hah

I am presuming they are resorting to helping the snow melt because we are running out of storage space.

The jet stream anomaly that is causing all this snow and below zero wind chills is showing no signs of shifting anytime in the near future.

Personally, I would prefer a flame thrower to the shovels that keep breaking.

From that picture, it does indeed look like they are running out of space. Too bad flame throwers for everyone isn't economically feasible; I'm also thinking it might be a public safety issue. :cheesy:

Storm drains are blocked with piles of snow. That hinders drainage so the water just pools when it does melt and then it freezes and then you go ice skating without skates and possibly in your car.

Not good!

There are a lot of snowbanks that are piled higher than a lot of cars and that makes for a dangerous situation.

Burn it all!!!

And, in the spirit of randomness, I present these folks to you.

Oscar gift bags full of swag and a bit cheeky. :)

Oscar gift bags worth $167,000 this year

including some rather erotic items...

http://www.cnbc.com/id/102438708#.

•Laser vibrator. The Afterglow Pulsewave Vibrator bills itself as the world's only adult toy that utilizes a low-level laser to enhance arousal. Value: $250
•Orgasm booster. "The Couple's Love Shot," as it's called, is available to each of two "lovers" who can receive orgasm boosters including the O-Shot (Orgasm Shot), created by the same doctor who invented the Vampire Facelift to reduce wrinkles. Value: $5,000
•Pricey condoms. Naked Luxury Condoms, dubbed "the world's only luxury condom" and "the most pleasurable condom in the world." Value: $56 for two 6-packs

Who doesn't need a "low-level laser to enhance arousal?" Will purchase one STAT! This is useless sans photos.....
