It was actually last evening. There is a shrub in my neighbor' s yard with a nest of bluejay babies......we were in the pool floating on the floats. All of a sudden we look up & on top of the pool cage is two bluejays flitting & squawking back & forth to the neighbor's roof & our pool cage. I look up to neighbor's roof & there sits a hawk...looking to get those babies in the nest. This went on about 15 minutes. Then the two bluejays flew right at the hawk, who took flight away with those 2 jays chasing & squawking at it. Was comical as the two jays combined weren't as big as that hawk...but they sent him packing.....:)

It always makes me smile to make a new acquaintance. Pleasant, fresh conversations, learning more about another individual, their viewpoints, feelings, and place in time all is so exciting. I am grateful when another's path crosses my own.

Laughing with my Buds. I wish we all lived closer.

I have no idea the name of the song, but the lyrics, "the stretch marks on your hips are just bungee cords to pull you back up when you dip… ". That made me smile.

The texts, phone calls, messages and random visits I've gotten today. I am blessed to have such quality people in my life.

How thoughtful Cor is....I always post my favorite songs to the listening thread here, and he told me that he downloads them all to an iPod for me to listen to at his house. I found that just so sweet....

As I made my bed, I remembered how my cat would never miss the opportunity to provide her assistance. It was always a lot more fun with her "help" and I couldn't help but smile while I recalled it.

The whole trip made me smile

Finding some fresh blackberries I had forgotten I had bought, which I enjoyed with breakfast. Sorting through my craft supplies with the company of a gently snoring Kitty Cat curled up in a basket of ribbons. Oh and the vision of an Amish man with a phone !

This sweet juicy watermelon, cut up for me :)
Ahuh, trying to tell me it was sour. I see how you are..lol |
Gardening and playing in the dirt made me smile today.

I watched a guy go thru a recycling bin looking for bottles and cans to collect. He hit the jackpot...there must have been a few hundred cans in there all neatly crushed so he could grab them all...seldom has there been a greater moment of pure joy.

After having a very rough day about the roof I went out to spend time in my garden. I picked an entire grocery bag full of green beans and I was not even halfway through the plants and I didn't pick the little ones. I will have at least two more pickings this year!!
The funny story my sister told me while we were outside also made me laugh out loud. She bought a pepper plant from the Amish greenhouse last year. At the end of the season she took it inside and this year it started to blossom and she got a small orange pepper on it. She decided to take it out in the barn and put it on the stand. So she took it out and watered it and left it there. She went out the next day and the pepper was gone!! *Chuckling uncontrollably. She thinks a mouse got it!! My other sister put her hands on her hips and said, "Now where are all those damn cats?" The response my sister gave, "they are not allowed up on the furniture". Haaahaaahaaa!!! |
my new client...
I spoke to her daughter just before meeting her..she told me her mom is old (shes 90) and frail and needy.... but when she answered the door, she is a woman who looks like shes barely brushing 70, she was all dressed up to go shopping, pearls and all, and greeted me very pleasantly... the house decor looks like it came from a modern European magazine...perfect and amazing. NOT the little old lady in a house dress and curlers like I expected...nor the house of cats...lol |
Being text, asking if I wanted lunch. My baby showing up with a Sub, chips and drink. As we spent lunch together laughing and sharing... what a wonderful way to spend your lunch time with, love, thoughtfulness, and feeling special.

Waking up bright and early on this beautiful Saturday morning. Getting a call from one of my best friends and laughing for a good 30 mins.

My friend O's comment above, and I quote:
"I am scared of big food" :| |

Orema I had not thought of it that way ! Here our local strawberries are finished. I bought a punnet of Dutch strawberries, really tiny and a punnet which were from a few counties away, they were the huge ones. They were sweet and juicy and delicious. Now here`s a thought...the little ones were tasteless and bouncy, like a rubber ball. I read an article a while ago about how fruit is `modified`...[for want of a better word]...to make it not get damaged in transit and to make it have a longer shelf life...so you are afraid of big food and I think I am afraid of bouncy food ! Food for thought eh ? !! :deepthoughts: Daisy :bouquet: |

You make an excellent point; size doesn't matter when it comes to modified food, but seeing big food shakes me up. |
Hanging out with my best friend and her family at the Cubs game.
And meeting a randomly meeting a cool person in the beer line who didn't assume or question how I identify. Never realized before how awesome it is to have a person refer to you as "they" out of respect. |
My cheap travel cell had perfect reception out here in the middle of nowhere North Dakota during a lovely happy phone call from my daughter and son-in-law in Australia. What a great surprise!
