My 16 yr old niece calling me and asking me if I wanted to go to breakfast.. And then her saying oh by the way your buying I'm broke.. Lol

I stopped by a little shop this afternoon and found the most unusual wooden Buddha statue hidden behind some other things on the floor.

I've never seen anything like it. It is only about 7 or 8 inches high, and was carved from some sort of wood, but it must weigh at least 30 pounds with a halo around the head. It is compelling.


And for whatever reason, I can't seem to keep my hands off of it.

Meeting a beautiful Labrador called Rita ! She was only young and was in training to be guide dog for the blind. She was in a pub I had lunch in. She lay so patiently under the table, I commented on how good she was but her handler told me she had moved twice and that wasnt allowed, she had to learn to stay in one place until her owner moved. Its amazing the detailed training these dogs under go to be able to do their jobs effectively. I cannot begin to imagine the enrichment they bring to peoples lives.

The whole entire day. Everything that happened. Everything in it. Every single bit - smile worthy.

Spending time with my family from out of town. Seeing the look on my Grandpa's face when he saw my weight loss.

My Mom. She and I sitting and talking and how I phrase things and it just makes her crack up. She said my sister and I have the best senses of humour and always make her laugh with the way we tell events that happen or how we see things.

A guy offering to buy my Vols ball cap at the grocery store. Oh hell to the no. I plan on being buried in it!

Also, my new book biz sold its first 2 books.

Nice emails from friends.

Having a friend over with two children she minds, they were so charming and polite, the little girl enjoyed some time in my craft room getting creative and gave me a big hug when she left and told me she really loved coming here..{it was their first time visiting !} Have asked them back next week....that made them happy, me too !!...I can add whilst she was crafting my tomboy daughter was enjoying a game of football with the lad, win win situation !

What made me smile today?

Knowing that in less than two months I get to spend a whole month visiting my family in Boston. I haven't seen my sister or her twin girls in over 2 years. And I get to get fat on all the bad american food I can eat!

i got a package in the mail from my sis...it was a movie..

One of my dumb guy friends, who is a total juice-head, flexing his biceps....pointing and then saying: "The beach is that way".

Also thinking about this upcoming Saturday -which is Annual Clear The Shelters Day here !!! I can not wait to adopt a kitty/cat !!

My ten year old nephew working with us today and getting all over the guys for standing around he put the fire under there ass... I smiled then walked away laughing... He had to much of me and his dad in him.. The looks on the guys faces were priceless

I did my annual evaluation at work this morning and got the highest one they gave out in my department this year... So yay!

taking myself on an impromptu adventure today...

I went out looking for Bryson City...since I saw it on a recent House Hunters and it looked wicked nice...but...my GPS is wonky and I ended up in Cherokee/ Maggie Valley...

I stopped at a cheezy touristy place and poked around and got some boiled peanuts.....found the casino by accident...

Also I traversed a beautiful part of the Blueridge Parkway from Maggie Valley to Sylva...the only reason I left the parkway was because I was running on fumes after all the mountains...

Had a yummy but cheap lunch at DQ (pumpkin pie blizzards are BACK!!!!) Jacques got his own lil ice cream treat too...and we took a little hike on the mountain to sea trail.

All in all a good day... :)

I didn't like this movie and this video made me smile.......
though they are explaining the frogs at the end as being okay because she somehow dropped into a lake....
I think it's more like the folks making the film don't understand that there are not frogs like that in the ocean.........
