Smiling...got all dolled up for a work Christmas party on Friday night. We had such a good time, being introduced to his co-workers, dancing and enjoying our time out.
Apparently, today he has a new nic-name. Dancer. Lol. Yes, we were that couple who had so much fun they were talking about us. Yeah, I bet I'm Prancer! He says noooo, your my Vixen ;) I was excited to go, because I've never had the opportunity to go to a big Christmas work party. What comes to mind...the Christmas party where someone wears the lamp shade..lol Yeah, I'll be smiling for awhile. |

Warm Christmas memories
:pirate-steer: Snuggling up close with my honey, enjoying our moonlight cruise last evening. Seeing some of those homes on the canals..that were over 200 ft. in length......light up so brightly...even their yachts were gaily decorated!

Two little girls
One of my VP's brought her two little twinkies (Twin) girls to work.
I got to spend time with them and we wrote a story about unicorns and tigers, a few rounds of hot potato and just running around in the halls laughing and squealing in merriment... I love little ones <3 |

Last night...
Talking to my dad....he's so full of Christmas cheer...he and my brother have been making donations to charities, buying toys for the giving tree at church and visiting our elderly relatives. I'm proud to come from such good people <3 |

I got another piece of cast iron to add to my collection as a surprise Christmas gift from a friend of mine. :) See pic ↓ I think it lists as a 36 oz serving dish for hot or cold dishes, but they are great for entrees and side dishes too. I love it!

I was letting the dogs out on this drizzly morning and realized I could hear the rooster that lives about a mile down the road. He has the most soulful crow I've ever heard. Typically, we hear him when we are walking by. I was so pleased to hear him that I left both my front doors open so I could sit and listen..... :)

I saw a Massachusetts plate today!!!!
I've lived down here nearly 2 years and have seen Maine, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and heaps of New York.... even a Rhode Island . Never a Massachusetts. And....like a true Masshole...they initially pissed me off for driving stupid lol Before long I was beeping and waving. I'm sure they were thinking Asheville is a very odd place.. :) |
The sunrise..
I watched it from the first...in all its variances of stages and colors...from pink to gold... The sunrise here is delayed by the mountains...so the sky wakes slowly... Today it revealed an almost literal blanket of mist in the valley...and as the sun rose the mist came up the hill to the woods in front of my house...and I took the prettiest picture of the sun fiktering through the mist... I sent the picture to several people...it renewed my appreciation for being here...I do realize how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such beauty.. |
Watching my son learn jingle bells...sorta. at the top of his lungs, in Trader Jo's... cause what does the day after the holiday matter when your 20 months old? Sometimes the absurdity of a messy life is what feels the most magical.

Took Heidi out for a walk in the yard, and saw this brownish looking something moving. Walked up to it.......a big box turtle(?) was feasting on my grass. I got a short video of it then it crawled away into the drain pipe in the yard....:). So cute. I saw a roseate spoonbill yesterday...such interesting sights to see while driving here...:)

I'm sitting in a mall waiting for a friend and just saw a man play hopscotch on the tiles with a young boy. Very sweet.

So many reasons to smile today:
1. I got my bookshelf put together and it looks really nice - and I even used all the parts which is a good sign that it won't suddenly fall apart one day, lol.
2. I managed to change the toilet seat which was broken. A revolting task, but it had to be done because every time I sat down it was pinching my bottom, lol. 3. This actually happened two days ago, but it's still pretty cool. I went out to my car to get tools and when I turned around I was startled to find THREE wild peacocks standing right behind me! Like, reach out and touch me behind me. Two females and one male. They were just hanging around showing off for me in their natural resplendence. I saw 5 of them once on the roof of the building across the street strutting around. I'd guess I'd strut around like that, too, if my backside looked nearly so glorious, lol. 4. No work - always a reason to smile, lol. |
