religion wouldn't enter into any kind of government, law making or contractual agreement (i.e.: marriage)

in order to enter into a war for any reason, the persons making the decision to do so would have to volunteer their entire extended family (men, women and children) for the front line before anyone else went into battle

(i've done most of the cooking in my life so when i read your question i couldnt come up with any specifics then it sorta dawned on me that i feel really loved when someone else cooks! i remember the last time someone did that - made their own version of chili as i recall. not romantic to some people but i was touched and it was fun to watch them take it so seriously and to watch them puttering around my kitchen. since it was also someone who pretty much doesnt cook i thought it was sincerely one of the sweetest things ever. it's one of those permanent memories, yanno? i love it when the person i cook for takes over the kitchen. funny that i didnt even realize it until i saw your question.)

-Friends I have been staying with are super busy so I have taken to doing their grocery shopping and some errands.
-I, whenever possible encourage friends to be creative. Many have joined classes or taken up new pursuits.
-I paid for the coffee of a person behind me in the Starbucks drive through yesterday. I do this type of thing often. I like to pay it forward.

• I wish I could take my dad to his chemo appointments, and help him more, but he lives in another state
• I wish I had a guest room so my friend K would come stay with me on weekends like she used to when I had my own apartment
• I wish I could think of the right words to help my co-worker stand up for herself more
