In no particular order...
1) I grew up in the Republican stranglehold of not only my home state, but was the only member of my family who did not adopt republican values or the typical mindset eschewed by members of my immediate family and extended family. I took a lot of heat for bucking family traditions. I was an outsider in my very own family. And I paid a huge price for it, growing up in my family.
2) I tend to favor the stories of the anti-hero, rather than buying into the story of the hero. 3) I'm not proud of having invested ten years of my life to become a member among the ranks of the so-called educated. Knowing what I know now is no different before I invested in an education. I'm not any smarter, thank heavens. I've just got a better set of .... skills, so to speak. Maybe one day I won't feel bitter about it, but I have grown cynical over time. I'm still growing, I'm still learning, I remain committed to an attitude of humility and seek to shape my life in ways which will help me to feel better about who I am and who or what I still could become. 4) I'm an artist, of sorts. I like to draw or paint or create sculpture. 5) I sometimes struggle with poetry. I appreciate poetry. I like to create poetry or prose. Sometimes I write vast amounts of literature; then I will go several years before my creative writing process comes back to life. |
1) Lately my favorite candy is Chuckles :jester:
2) Once I lent someone I was close with on the first butch femme site six hundred dollars when she was in a crisis, and I never got it back, even when her life stabilized. The last time I called her trying to get the money was a number of years ago, and when she finally picked up the phone after many rings, she said, "You got me out of a bath!" I decided that it was getting silly, and I just had to let it go. At least I got her out of the tub :mohawk: 3) I have sweet blood so I always get bit by mosquitoes much more than anyone else.:pacman: 4) I feel close with people on this site just by reading their posts for years even if I never post with them or chat with them:hk2: 5) My gay brother and I have so much in common that once when we were home from college a gazillion years ago, my mom was folding our clothes that she had kindly laundered for us and she had to casually ask us, "Whose shirt is this?" It said, "Nobody knows I'm a submissive." |

I love to make big meals for other people, and then hardly eat anything myself when it’s time. Recipes and meals are never the same twice, I have never followed a recipe all the way through, except for the cheese cake(I have yet to see it out done).
At some time in my life I want to acquire a decent parcel of property turn it in to a lovely bed and breakfast, grow my own produce. Knowing myself it would also end up a hodge podge of rescued animals. I am crazy shy. Just awful at social interactions, my face flushes very red at the thought of talking to someone by choice that I don’t know, unless it is work related then I can talk laugh even flirt a bit, but speaking to someone because I might want to…. I’d rather turn tail or bury my head in the ground. I love a rainy anything; I even prefer running errands and amusement parks in the rain. I can never get there and their right, so I use other phrasing or rework the direction of my intention so I can avoid the words. I also can not spell some of the easiest words, but I can spell the more difficult so I appear to have a better vocabulary than I actually do. |
I love reality T.V. and keep up with Hollywood drama.
I love food and choose restaurants by their atmosphere and rarely by their menu. I organize clothes by outfits just so I don't wear the same outfit and bump into someone that I may have seen the day before. When I get home from being out I almost immediately change into my 'at home' clothes. I have been wearing the same perfume for 10+ years. I alternate between two. I'm thinking it's time for a new one. :) |

What 5 things no one would know about me from BFP alone.
Am quite partial to trains...be they passenger...freight or the kind that only I can pull.
Love city commuters and long rural lines, over water, over bridge, over prairie, but most of all in the desert deep where no one or modern building be. They're most beautiful at sunrise or best glorious at sunset. Should I come back, I'd an engine be. Pulling hundred car freight trains from sea to shining sea. 2) Pull practical jokes, and just so anti-social to get away with it. 3) Am not fond of reading as an act. Rather listen to an unabridged tape or a person narrating the story. Like to shut the eyes and just drift away. 4) Don't put up holiday decorations; as, I do not like the task of taking them down until next year. 5) Once hands and more severely feet get chilled, t:batty::cuttree::santa1:he only way to warm them is in hot water. |
5 Things Nobody Would Know!
1. I love green olives! On salads, on sandwiches, out of the jar! 2. One of the girls at my Starbucks thinks my name is "Josephine" because that's what I tell her every time I get my quad flat white. 3. Years ago I worked with a woman who was a complete asshole. She was mean and nasty to just about everyone in the office. One day she made another coworker cry and it pissed me off so bad that when the asshole left her desk to go to the copy room I farted in her purse and zipped it closed. No, I don't know if it trapped it but it was damned satisfying to think it did. 4. I am fascinated by people. I love to people-watch and I love watching the way people traverse the world of dating, work dynamics, and friendships. It's like people TV! 5. I'm thinking about a career change. Maybe a drastic one. |
|
1) up until an year or so ago, I never missed an day of work. I've had an flawless attendence record throughout my work life.

I like learning about most anything, especially if it's related to any sort of experience human's face in life. 4) I'm not perfect, but I am resilient. 5 Things Nobody Knows:
1. When I was a kid I used to suck on chicken bouillon cubes as a treat. 2. All of my underwear are the same color. 3. I often put incorrect birth dates on online forms and forums (on purpose). 4. I sometimes have a hard time striking a balance between being an extreme cheap-ass or extravagant AF. 5. When I turned 20, I had a girl's name picked out in case I ever got a wild hair to have a baby even though I knew I never wanted kids. It's probably divine intervention that "Ivy Noel" was never born because I think she might have ended up a soap opera star with a name like that. |
1. I've been making the same wish on stars, birthday candles, wishing wells, etc. since I was a little girl.
2. I love mobster movies. I will watch the Godfather trilogy all in one day and then the next day, watch Good Fellas. 3. I have a potty mouth and don't really trust people who don't swear regularly. 4. I'm becoming more and more a recluse with every passing year. Think Grey Gardens. 5. I don't drink soft drinks. |
Quote:
As for #2, switch it to the Harry Potter series and that's me. USA is repeating the series now and even though I have it, I'm still recording and watching it. It's the one series I feel I got my money's worth after watching. #1 would be that I don't like to eat birthday cake at other people's parties because I don't want to eat their expiration. |
kitten purrs put me in a mellow mood
i love growing pumpkins i want to visit wine country someday i write poetry when i'm blue i have a weakness for hawaiian shirts....(not on me) :| |
1) I'll eat birthday cake at other people's parties. It's cake, yo.
2) I love eating in bed. 3) I like keeping my nails short, but love nail polish. Especially glittery nail polish. 4) I love kalamata olives and will eat them as a snack. 5) I must be hungry because this post will mostly be about food: I am currently obsessed with veggie chips. |

2/ I eat a lot of seafood especially fish with greens of some kind. 3/ I learned how to treat women from the way my dad treated my mom. 4/ I like to think of myself as kind and generous. 5/ I love TV, going to movies, doing dinner out once a week. |
i love chocolate anything

5 things, eh?!
1. I can't stand instrumental jazz, new age mood music, and don't usually listen to rock'n'roll, etc.
2. I do not watch horror films 3. IRL, when people I know lie in my face, I usually emit a small scoffing laugh/cough 4. I have 6 angels watching over me - all throughout my life (I saw my death inside, and they will be there watching me die) 5. I usually wake up smiling, and laugh a lot - I find many things funny, and usually learn something new every day, all of which deepens my understanding and which I never remember - (funny, eh?) laughs |
My 80 year old mom has a life long problem of helicoptering me, which I have never liked, and which we argue about rather frequently. I love my mom, but I won't tolerate her helicoptering me.
I trim and color my own hair because my hair grows slowly. I like my hair to look as nice as it can be, so that's why I do it on my own. I don't like sharing my own space at home with anyone other than myself. I like the quiet of my own home and I hope to keep it that way for the rest of my life. I miss all the food I like to eat, but can't eat anymore. It's a challenge making meals without all the things that will kill me (dairy, sugar, meat, and certain other vegetables: OMG, I miss vine ripe tomatoes the most). I like Agatha Christie novels and movies. I went to go see Murder On The Orient Express last year and it was simply awesome cinema at it's best. |
i clinically died on an operating table when i was 27
i would be happiest in a world full of women, no men i'm a pessimist, by nature i've faced death more then once i love working with wood |
I have severe social anxiety
I have spent most of my life making sure everyone around me is happy and fulfilled I am passionate... about pretty much everything I do I want to support LGTBQ youth in every way I can I dream of living in a cabin in the woods with no electricity or running water |

I don’’t believe in God but I believe in the power of prayer. I talk to deceased relatives. Usually when I have heavy things on my mind. I love train rides. I’m thinking of getting a kitty after not having one for decades. |
Thinking of five things for this thread often feels so hard. It can take me forever, and sometimes I abandon posting on this thread because I get stuck. I have no idea why it's so hard :seeingstars:
My butch falls asleep easily every night, while for me going to sleep is like lighting a fire with sticks: very hard. Please pass the sweet potato fries, always. For many years I've had a secret name for myself (actually perhaps even since childhood) that would become my name if I was ever "perfect." Sometimes I say that one day I will have that name but then I fail at being perfect, and the name migrates to the background. I kind of like having a secret name for myself that only I know even if I can't ever claim it, and even if the concept of being perfect is quite sad and troublesome. It's always exciting to have a secret and maybe especially a secret name. I feel on this site I can be myself more than anywhere else on the "web." |
I have more shoes now than I have ever had in my entire life, and I like each pair of shoes I have because not only are they terribly cute but they're terribly comfortable.
I do not care for nosy people. I'm sort of a snob when it comes to purses. I don't care for brand name purses that have come to be some sort of status symbol. I like home made cloth purses or leather tooled purses. Purses that scream individuality and style. That's my kind of purse. I take pride in paying off all my bills before they are due and I also take pride in living within the constraints of my own earnings. I'm not a proverbial money tree, but I do have an excellent credit rating that my banking institution says speaks highly of me. I guard it with my life, just like I guard my privacy. I don't care for people who don't know how to shut up and listen, really listen. I tend to stay away from people who do not value a quiet, chaos-free style of living. I blame it on my ever deepening introversive personality as I value my introversion and ability to feel at home -- as a very quiet individual. |
5 Things....
1. I have a no pet policy in the bedroom during our adult time! As much as I love animals I'm not cool with them being there during those moments, that just doesn't sit well with me.
I once broke up with someone I was dating because of her evil black cat. The breaking point for me was when the cat decided to park itself inches away from where we were to observe the situation!! Thankfully nothing happened other than an argument as to why the cat was allowed to be there in the first place. I broke up with her shortly after that. She couldn't understand why. :| 2. Because of #1 I will not date anyone that owns a black cat or allows pets in the bedroom during our adult time. #sorrynotsorry. 3. I am single and will remain so until I meet my soulmate. I know what I want, need and desire from a partner and relationship and I am not willing to compromise or settle for anything less than at this stage in my life. 4. I love music and film and think Sound Engineers and Film Directors have the coolest job in the world! 5. When I was younger I wanted to run off to New York to be an Actress which sounded like a good idea at the time and nearly happened but the universe had other plans and stopped me in my tracks. It took me a long time to get over that and to see it as a blessing in disguise. |
5 things
I was a nurse. RNA
I was a vet. assistant for 12 yrs. I was a private investigator I was a truck driver for Purolator I am a retired addictions counsellor I bore easily. |
1) I have always wanted to earn a Black Belt in Judo, but the closest I've ever come to it is wearing one of several black belts I have in my wardrobe.
2) I like sweet pickle relish and I like Kosher Dill pickles. A lot. 3) I sometimes can't make up my mind and sometimes when I can't make up my mind, I say to myself: Just Sleep On It. Because, if I give myself time to think it completely through, you know - consider all the outcomes, etc, then most likely I feel good that I couldn't make up my mind and was glad that I slept on it. 4) I like beautiful Batik clothing (long skirts or dresses or pretty shirts or scarves, in brilliant or muted mixed shades of color). 5) I've gone without makeup for about 45 days now and can hardly believe I have gone this long without putting on a little makeup. I blame it on having to wear masks and look forward to the day that masks will stay in hospital settings and not found in ordinary daily life settings. |
1) People who resemble, act or smell like "Captain Chaos" (you know, like that person in the WH who is wrecking the world, can't shut up, has attention seeking disorders and personality disorders too?), are not allowed in my life. Life is too short to put up with that kind of offensive way of living.
2) I've made up my mind that I should move again. I'm hoping to have my own residence: one that offers more privacy and has enough room so I won't feel encroached upon. 3) I am worried about my health. I have a few things going on that I can't talk about openly here, but I just have to take steps to limit stressors in my life (see no. 1 and 2, above) so my health won't decline any more than it has over the past few years. My health is fragile, so I gotta do everything I can to make things better for myself, somehow. 4) I need to get my passport renewed. Pronto. 5) I still miss my caT, Miss Petunia. |
5 things BFP does not know
I eat mainly fish and lean meats.
I do not like mushrooms, carrots, squash, mint of any kind, turkey, lamb or goat I am fairly easy to get along with unless riled then I am hell in your face. I do not like to eat out a lot or get take out. I prefer cooking fresh food. I just signed up with a dating room. (we shall see). Alone is good but not forever. |
I am genderqueer considering top surgery
I am most certainly a hermit though not meditating on some diety By most people's standards, including mine, I am an Athiest. My politics are eclectic but Socialist to Communist to Anarchist. In other words, far, far left. Am a natural red-head. |
Though a variety of Communist, I am a strong believer in our Constitution.
I became a politically active dyke in 1974 in Indianapolis. My views on the use of "illicit" drugs is quite radical. I haven't shaved my legs or underarms since becoming a Radical Feminist in 1976. Being a contrarian, I enjoy Formula 1 and street auto racing. |
1) I like the windshield's of my car sparkling clean: No streaks, no dirt or drippy tree sap on them. I like to see the road and not have the sun glaring off the windshield, so I clean them before I drive (every single time).
2) I am constantly keeping an eye on the tires. The tread needs to be a certain depth and the tread needs to be evenly worn. I like to make sure the tires are always aired properly. Rapid temperature changes can make tires lose air and can go flat when you least expect them too. So I keep an eye on them. 3) I wash and vacuum out the car on a weekly basis (I go to the car wash often). 4) I am particular about the type of gasoline I use for the car and I am particular about the gas station, too. Top shelf gasoline only and only clean gasoline stations do I frequent. 5) Last year I switched to Green Energy as my power source with the power company that serves my area. I cut my energy use by more than half. My power bill is 5 times less than it used to be, even during a heat wave or a cold spell. I don't heat the house, but I do use a Clean Energy Air Conditioner, which also saves on my power bills. My Green Energy comes from Solar Panels, so I highly recommend Solar power if your utility company offers it via a Green Energy program. My winter monthly power bill is less than 20 dollars. During the summer, when I use my A/C, my monthly bill is less than 50 dollars. Before I switched to Green Energy, my power bill was off the charts in the winter and just as horrible during the summer. Green Energy uses less power and your carbon foot print is small, very small. 6) I am saving up to buy a Smart Car (EV). I'll miss my Ruby Tuesday, but I like saving money and I like being energy conscious and not robbing Mother Earth of the energy she's got left. I want to my energy use at home to match my energy use on the road. So that is my short term goal (in 3 years or less). |
{i've done this more than once on the thread so hopefully i don't repeat myself} |
5 Things...
1. I have a fruit bowl for bananas only.
2. I will only eat bananas when they are ripe and the peel is lightly speckled. I find this is when they taste the best. 3. I love pickles and have yet to try peanut butter (or nut butter) on a pickle. Apparently that's a thing. 4. I soak oats before making oatmeal. 5. Sometimes as a snack I will eat cucumbers with tomatoes and avocado. I take a cucumber slice and build everything on top, squeeze lemon juice and add fresh/dried herbs and a little salt. |
Hope you don't mind me piggybacking off your post...
Quote:
I think I answered 4 sufficiently enough for the thread. #5 I like to make a poor woman's version of a Caprese salad for a quick easy snack. I take mozz pearls and rip them up into bite size chunks to dot the tops of sliced fresh tomatoes (sometimes beefsteak and sometimes gourmet) and then drizzle it all in a balsamic vinaigrette. A quick turn of the sea salt grinder and I'm good to go. |
5 things BFP does not know
I cannot stand the smell of cucumber or tuna fish.
I love all kinds of pickles.(little onions included). I have travelled a lot but never off the North American continent. I love most kinds of music and most kinds of dancing. Mother Nature and Mother Earth are very precious to me. |
During my 'coming of age' time, I always liked to read about Princess Diana. I thought she was so lovely and a sweet mother to her boys and I felt so sad back when she lost her life in that car crash with the paparazzi, that when I read about her life being portrayed on The Crown, I got so teary.
Which then made me think of Elton John and how his music was exactly what I liked to hear, back as a young adult. His song about Marilyn Monroe, Candle in the Wind, was the song he sang at her funeral. I'll never forget Princess Diana or Elton John. Neil Diamond is a favorite music artist, from back then. Loved all his songs, especially the sound track he did for Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I don't like mince-meat pie. But I do like Molasses cookies. I'm so sick and tired of the non-stop horse-shit spewing from the orange menace. Somebody, please stop that horrible person and don't let him off the hook. Otherwise, others like that terrible person will think it's okay to lie cheat, steal, harass and who otherwise commit unsavory unethical conduct impaired people might do on a crack-infested mania filled with 200% conduct that of white collared criminals who have yet to get their just desserts. |
