Two things brought Me joy today:
1) A phone call, thats all it took :cheesy: 2) Chicago won the Stanley Cup, and the captain Mr. Toews is from My hometown of Winnipeg YAY :cheer: |

Watching several little kids walk by my house on the way to our newly constructed children's parks (fantastic green manufactured equipment and safety measures installed!). Mainly, it was the fact that there were Latino, African American, Asian, Turkish, Afghani, Iranian, and Black African families enroute. A couple of white families, too. Hummm... no Native Americans, however. Big smiles and lots of skipping up the sidewalk. Many songs being sung. My dog was a little wiggle machine looking at all the kids! The remodeling of the park was a joint effort of the city and private citizens working together.
OMG! I live in a neighborhood that would be a Tea Party member's nightmare! Good! :happyjump: |
Getting my highly anticipated package from the Apple store yesterday and having fun installing my new dash/windshield mount for my iPhone, so now I am completely hands free!
Getting the Navigation software from AT&T to work so I can find my way to Darien, GA on Saturday... Knowing that in two days, I will be heading north to pick up my oldest niece and nephew from their mother... Treating myself to a second cup of coffee this morning. |
What brought me joy today....
Knowing a dream that I once let slip away, will hopefully become a reality in the near future. |

The only thing to bring me joy thus far today is Chocolate Turtle Chex Mix. |

Talking with someone about life in general, knowing that the connection is there but taking the time to get to know one another ~ still, its pretty sweet just to have that chance :cheesy:

it was so nice because it's so cold and rainy; and so I could make a nice supper tonight! (roasted chicken with jasmine rice with herbs). |

Today, opportunity brings me joy.
My contract ends on June 17th. That means by September of next year, I have to find a new one. BUT... The principal of the middle school that I work at asked me today to stop by her office. She wanted to ensure me that they were doing everything they could to make sure that I had a position with them again next year. That all the appropriate district personnel had received nudges and not so subtle reminders that my contract was ending and they simply couldn't do with out me. Also, she asked if I would be interested in working with a new program shes hoping to start next year and asked me to apply for that position if it comes open over the summer. YAY ME!!! I have job security. |

Today I found joy:

A surprise text from my faboo daughter, saying, "I'm coming home".....and then having a great dinner ~ closing down the restaurant....laughing and laughing and laughing......going to the bank in the forest (her words) and then on to the grocery store where we were chastised for trying to buy wine at straight~up midnight. Bastids.
But we still laughed. She's just so gorgeous, I love watching all the guys doing the double~take thing when she passes by. Makes me smile. She'll be here all weekend! Yea! |
