Also not sure that we can assume that we know what the default pronoun is for all of the butches on this site.

You're joking, right? Just to get a rise out of us?

I want a pet pretentious twat. I shall name her Victor and make her do man jobs. It would be fun.

Does the use of 'he' in your posts mean you are talking about a transman and/or a male id'd butch? I have to assume that, because you certainly can't be talking about what you would do for a butch woman while using male pronouns. I must also assume you don't date butch women. If butch women are also in your realm of dating, you might try s/he as an inclusive way to use pronouns.

(and S/He is also a great book by Minnie Bruce Pratt.........a kick ass femme who has written some great stuff)

I'll bite.

When I am not referring to a specific person, I do use he because that's the majority rule in my life. The majority of people I've partnered with, and tend to partner with, prefer he or hy over she.

As you mentioned, using he as a pronoun for a butch woman is not appropriate. If I were partnered with a butch woman or was making specific reference to someone I know who identifies as a butch woman, I would make sure to address them accordingly, whether it be she, shy, zi, ze, or whatever feels right to them.

Vixen, I certainly hope that your post wasn't made just to stir the pot. I chose not to quote it when answering you because, even though I've never had to fight within this community for my identity to be acknowledged, I found it offensive. I can be pretty dull about what's going on in others' heads, so if I'm up in arms about this, I can only imagine how hurtful your words are to other members of our community.

ME!

Will the power tools be used while watching porn?

My answer to this thread.

Common sense!

Being clean is not something to have for a woman or anyone for that matter it is the right thing to do. Keep clean sheets, bathroom, kitchens, etc for yourself and to show respect for others who may share your space.

Have the things that show your personality. If the woman loves you it is because of who you are, so must likely she is going to love your place.

Have things that she has requested, in case of a visit.

What you find in my home are pieces of me, my books, music, things that friends and family have given me, and the things that I enjoy like wine, coffee, and more books.

Since this thread is in The Trans Zone, and since I am primarily attracted to male~identified butches and/or transmen, I used "guy" (I believe) in my particular post. I did not include 'she' because I didn't feel the need to be inclusive.... as this is The Trans Zone.

Diva, you pointed out something I had not even noticed. I rarely ever look at where a thread is located in the forums. I didn't realize this was the 'trans zone'. Point taken.

-------
MsVixen just makes me mostly disgusted. I'm not at all surprised by her ignorance and lack of respect. However, that is not the first time a femme has said "all butches are he' to me...........the difference with this one is I read the words instead of them being said to my face. And it's not even the first time I have read those words.

Been there done that more than once.......*yawn*

And now back to your regular programming....

Apologies for the minor derailment. The discussion about he/she has been moved to the red zone.

Cheers,

40 Years of Marriage and Gone in an Instant

I almost fell over when I heard that Tipper and Al Gore were separating after 40 years of marriage. Wow. And to think that most of us would bend over backwards to make each other feel welcome just by talking online, meeting at bashes, parties, talking on the phone, and so on.

Nat 06-02-2010 09:49 AM

I have been especially pleased to find a nice deep tub and lots of bath goodies readily at hand. I rather like cluttered when it feels comfy and well-stocked, but I am sort of a brambly hedge mouse like that.

Gemme 06-02-2010 10:36 AM

In no particular order, I would like:

Food that I will eat
Beverages that I will drink
A place to sit free of stuff and tacks and junk
If I am staying overnight, a comfortable place to lay my head
Boardgames and dice somewhere in the house
Electronic connection (cell service, internet, etc)
Good smelling things (whether it's flowers or cologne or whatever)
Good feeling things (I like textures)
Pets are nice, but certainly not required
Photo albums or something along that line (I want to see where you come from)
