Hard to believe but at one time, every single window in this establishment was boarded up! It was back in a time when often you had to show an I.D. or know a certain "password" to gain access to gay bars! M&M was the first gay bar to uncover its windows in 1984. Prior to that, gay clubs were boarded up and hidden from the public. |

In 1935, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a country house for the Kaufmann family over a small stream in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, 43 miles (69 km) southeast of Pittsburgh, built in 1936 -1939,Fallingwater was the family's weekend home from 1937 to 1963. In 1963, Kaufmann, Jr. donated the property to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. In 1964, it was opened to the public as a museum. Nearly 6 million people have visited the house as of January 2008 (about 135,000 visitors per year.) |
