Yes, lol. Just thought I'd give all the speed-reading American gas-price- followers a little jolt of envy. But you can all relax now cause that works out to about $4 a gallon. Y'all need to stop whinging about gas prices cause , likely, next to the Saudis, you've got the cheapest gas prices on the planet and always have had. When our gas prices come down to abt 2.50 a gallon, you all will probably be paying 15 cents lol.

I will take a more thoroughly educated approach to the thread. :)

It is interesting to see two Texans on the thread with one having the personal experience of knowing folks who are working MORE, with the other knowing folks who are working LESS.

I'm not sure whom you are referring to besides me, but if it's Dee, she's in Louisiana and she's talking about drilling off-shore in the ocean. I'm talking about drilling ON LAND. That's probably why there is a difference in people working and not working, as they are drilling more on LAND from what my cousins have told me and from what my neighbor's son in law has stated about being in S. Dakota drilling.

We are very lucky here!

When we traveled to France and England we paid over $7 a gallon! True story...we pulled in at the first petrol station after getting our car in North Umberland, and the sign said 2.77 ( or thereabouts)...gas here was over $4.00 a gallon, so we were quite happy...until our English friend explained about it being in Liters:seeingstars:

Trev 12-18-2014 07:43 PM

Touche`!

Just hit $2.25 here and I've figured out reward points. I have to get gas today and it should be $1.85

This is where I remember when I was working a gas station at the age of 15. All stations were full service, pumps were all manual. I remember when I had to reset the pumps up to 0.65 per gal and it was so high we made the news.

A tad bit North of Austin...

I just paid $1.96 a gallon. While I'm sympathetic to the oilfield folks that are currently laid off, I'm enjoying not hearing the agonizing screams of my wallet after I fuel up my truck.

diamondrose 12-19-2014 08:04 PM

Today I Saw gas as low as $2.16 a gallon

gas has dropped 20 cents a gallon here to 2.07 and 2.09 a gallon in the last couple days. I'm happy about that. I can't wait for it to drop below 2.00/gallon!

I haven't seen gas this low, around my neck of the woods, since 2003. :)
