Turkey Trotting

I will run a 5K/Turkey Trot in the morning.
Cook a big festive meal for friends that are flying in.
Then sit back, relax & have a fire & great visit.

Happy Turkey Day!

Tom will be safe in favor of Cornish Hens.

Tom Turkey is on sale at super one grosery for .50 a pound up to 25 pounds, corse you have to buy 20.00 bucks worth of stuff first.Yes,Im going to get a couple for the freezer (a 2 turkey limit) I love turkey sandwitches but dispise delli meat cause of the texture of the meat cause thay inject it with falvor inhanceing base to also help it stay moist.so I will eventualy cook a bird sooner or later.

I wonder how this would go over in my household. It actually looks delicious. To me.

Not a veggie guy but I would actually wanna see what it would taste like.

It looks good to me tho I doubt my son would think so.Over the last year I have nearly turned into a veggitarian(?) so with nearly all veggies on the table he ask if meat was in short supply,no I said i'm eating healthy so should you.Well that fell on deaf ears so now there is always meat cooked for him,I on the other hand have gone to small portiones to manage my diabetis even tho I would love to go back to the way I use to eat now and then, but it's like crack no way I can just have a little.

boo hoo

No setting up of the blow up turkey last night, got home after 11:00 p.m. and I was to tired, to cranky and to hungry to even want to. Tonight though, tonight I shall see her resurrect from a limp colorful cornucopia of material to her 6ft air born glory!!

I've never liked (most) Thanksgiving foods: not the turkey, or the dressing, or the cranberry salad, or most certainly not any fruits embedded in Jello. (and what the hell is up with that gelatinous cranberry grossness that comes straight out of the can?? My relatives never even bothered to dice it up, so I could still see the can's rings molded on the gelatin…) I've always felt a little sad when the holidays roll around and everyone gets so excited about how much they're going to gorge themselves, while I'm planning a hunger strike.

Well, until dessert. I do an about-face on my anti-holiday foods position when it comes to pumpkin pie.

So imagine my giddiness at being invited to a small post-Thanksgiving gathering in which only two food items will be served: Potato latkes and pumpkin pie.

Finally! A Thanksgiving meal to be thankful for. :) Thank you, Hanne!!

You, my friend, are odd.

I, for one, love jellied cranberry sauce, rings and all. I have two cans of it in my fridge RIGHT NOW.
