GHD, I agree with you. It is evil - hence my mixed feelings for Ed & Lorraine Warren. I think I would have to carry an industrial size water bottle filled to the brim with Holy Water and saturate everything in the museum. And leave a huge St. Benedictine Holy Medal on the most evil relics. It is like the Holocaust Museum in DC. I can only make it thru the first and part of the second level because it is so upsetting to me. I see the hair, and the shoes, and what they did on those poor souls as medical experiments. Horrible. Remember that what you take with you from the museum, stays with you in that context. Evil = Evil. That is why in the Holocaust Museum there is the center where you can light a white candle and sit and think about what took place and why. :candle: Now about Michelle...:tease: How was the seance? |

GHD, Yes, there are many many facets of faith. What works for one person may not work for someone else. It is a matter of what works for you. In the end that is all that matters. I am glad to hear about Lorraine blessing the room before exposing it to the public. Now you know and understand what I mean about being sensitive. It isn't just an emotion. It is a state of being. |

I've been reading these post and wondering if I should add to them some of how I feel about gost spirits and such.One reason is I have been told by many not to say much if anything about my experences cause ppl will preceve me a more weired than I sould be insted of just haveing a better receptor on the liveing and ppl who have gone on to the light.I'm just very sensitive in certain places.It ranges from the negative side of reaction to the, wow look hear who im conecting with.sometimes its a fue seconds to full blown sighting.Most freak me out,some really dont.For sometime I have been at odds with a long time frien who knows about how these affect me but is really POD at me for not being hear when her husband and my long time freind passed away.I knew my friend was very ill and I was in contact with him but not anywhere near home when he passed..all anyone needed to do was call my house and give my son the message he would have gotten hold of me.Being I knew nothing of the events untill I got back and contacted my friends wife.Last christmas she called and we spent time talking ( they live in another City) we swaped cards (xmas).the crazy thing is she hasnt spoken to me sence.She has always been standoffish so I havent pushed it any.I figure its her prob but do miss out friendship of near 40 years.Obtw,I have called but I get the she's not home from who ever ansers the phone.

it's not really the 'something' you were looking for Andrew....but my friend Eden is going to take me on my first ghost town trip ever sometime this summer! the place is called Bannack. i know it's 'elementary school' compared to stuff other people have done/experienced but i'm excited about it and since i'm not the receptive/psychic sort it's what i've got! (my life is pretty small...grocery shopping can be an event.) :cheesy:

After dinner conversation last Sunday with my Dad, stepmother and stepsister was very interesting. My stepmother could not relate to us - from lack of experience or doubt or whatever.
Anyway, my parents are serious history geeks (something they passed along totheir kids) and Dad shared several stories about being at various battlefield/historic locations in the US and England and having experienced something he could not call "visions" - well here's a brief paraphrase: He was at Appomattox Courthouse, standing in the road that in April 1865 was lined on both sides by Union troops while the Confederate troops marched up the centre to surrender their weapons. Dad said this feeling like electricity shot through his feet and up his body, then he could "hear" the drums, the marching troops, the horses, someone saying "here they come", etc. He said it was all so familiar and he felt as though he had seen this all before. Mom knew about this and saw it happen to him. Once they were somewhere (Tappan, NY I think) and Dad was taking a photo but froze and just stood there with the camera. Mom asked him if he was going to take the photo and his told he he couldn't just then. She asked him "Is it happening?" and he told her it was. Pretty cool stuff. I'll post about my stepsister later - I need to get ready for work now. |

Jaye, I would try the Eastern Shore. There are quite a few places you can find. Also there are numerous haunted houses in Baltimore City. You also want to research ships in the area. Some are falling apart now, and are now being taken apart before they disinagrate into the bay/ocean. Hippieflowergirl, You will have a ball at Bannack! I did that place a few years ago. It was really cool. I enjoyed it. :hangloose: Miss Scarlett, I am waiting for you to continue your stories! I love to listen to them. Btw, my brother has the same experiences as your Dad has. I am confused, forgive me, I am not gifted as some of you are. But I have always been facinated by the paranormal. I was reading some of the postings between Andrew and GHD about the Warrens, so I googled them and found a ton of stuff. Why would someone want to make a museum of possessed objects for the public to visit? How can they keep ppl safe? If this doll is so evil, how can a glass box keep it from harming others? I am just confused and want to understand. I thought if something was possessed by evil then its powers are limitless. I am going to see if I can find anything about this doll but I would be very leary of going to see it in person, just because I dont know that its evil influence could "rub off" on me. I know this probably sounds crazy, but I was just curious about these ppl. Thank you for your posts, I do find this very facinating.

Let me try to explain this. Mr. Ed Warren was actually the one who started off seeing spirits as a youngster. He would see an elderly lady in his closet. As he grew older, more and more spirits would come to him (if that makes sense). Mrs. Lorraine Warren is a clarevoyant (sp??). She had this gift also as a young girl and it didn't make sense to her, but one day it clicked. Like putting together a puzzle. She was a teenager by the time everything made sense to her.
Alot of what is done goes back to the Roman Catholic Church, and the rituals and faith system from eons ago. For example, putting above your front door the house blessing that is renewed each Ephany. The museum they have of relics from all over. It is the only one in the world like it. Lorraine Warren blesses the room before opening it up to the public. This is something that I also questioned Jaye about. And yes, she does do this. See when you see evil, it stays with you. That is the reason people sage their homes, cars, offices, and so on. It is a cleansing. The same as a using Holy Water, a Crusifix, and Bible when doing an exercism by a Priest. I hope this helped explain it. Andrew |

In 1984, about 2 months after my grandmother died I had a dream about her.
Before I tell about the dream here's the background: I had been her caretaker for the last 6 weeks of her life. She and I were soulmates; I even look like her. I am her only granddaughter and we were very close. This is my Dad's mother I am talking about. He was with her when she died; I was at home. When he arrived at the hospital she was already in distress and they were working on her. She greeted my Dad by asking where I was. (When she would get in distress at home I could talk her into a calm state and it would pass. I was her anchor.) I was ravaged by guilt to the point of despair for not being there for her. She died asking for me and I wasn't there for her. Ok, back to the dream...my grandmother was laying on the sofa in the den and died in front of me. Immediately I started CPR and was doing this for a while when she grabbed my hands, opened her eyes and said to me "Let me go. There was nothing you could do. Please let me go." When I woke up the guilt and despair were gone. |

Second, those left alive often choose to visit and remember individuals by visiting their graves. This action makes it easier or them to communicate to those left behind. When we are thinking about that person we are more likely to be susceptible to their desired message. I also believe that the religious ceremonies, no matter what religion, do indeed hold a power and energy and that spirits and ghosts are drawn to that energy. |

That gives it the color. Q. Do you believe cemetaries are haunted? Why? A. Not all cemetaries are haunted. Most are. Military cemetaries I have found to be very haunted ( like Arlington). I also have discovered that the sections of cemetaries that have sections for policemen/women and firemen/women are also haunted. We live in layers or planes of reality/life. Those who have passed over have the ability to come and go as they please. I believe that once you pass over, you sign a "contract" with God. Until you fulfill your end of the bargin, you will come back (reincarnation). Our loved ones have the ability to watch over us. For me, when my loved ones died, I have no connection with them. It is too much for me to handle. That is when I have to rely on others for their gifts for comfort. |

I was in a forum discussion about this. It is my own belief that once you die, all of your sins, lies, and so on will be revealed to everyone. That is why I always say to live your life like an open book. Let the world see you and your soul. Nobody is perfect. That is universal. Not everything is one-sided. Well I did an investigation at a friend's house....in the attic...I hate attics....lol. Didn't hear anything for the EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) session. Still have to examine the video. I decided to leave the recorder running in the room under the attic all nite. I haven't listened to all 15 hours of it yet (yes, I have to listen to every last second), but16 minutes in, you can hear the latch on the door clicking and the door squeaking open. You know it's not us cuz you can hear us talking downstairs. The door was closed when we went to get the recorder. Can't wait to hear the rest!! I'll let you know if we caught something else!

Forgot to mention. I saw a shadow person walking past the door. Saw this twice and taking the same route. So more then likely, that part is residual.

I find it hard to go to grave yards,its to much for me to deal with,its like I feel so much energy its unsetling to my nerves and I get the jitters.So many of my famly members that have passed I dont go check on cause of the reaction..but I do have pictures of them up hear at home to remember them when they were hear..sometimes I dream about them and they seem very real.Lots of my dreams are disjointed of bits and peices of things..some ive never been to or I will dream something that makes no sence then sometimes later im in places that I havent been to and remember I drempt them before..sorta like dejavu..creepy.

Something that I find strange, is when I am visited by my Grandfather or Rosie is visited by her father, is we find loose change everywhere. And I mean everywhere. In the bathtub, on the deck on the table, in my humidor, and on each and every step in our house (inside and out). Very strange. Now, I like to go to cemetaries. I find them peaceful, for the most part. There is one cemetary that I refuse to go back too. It was a S. Baptist Church from years ago that some satanic cult took over, including the graveyard. They destroyed the grave markers, and such. Now, the grass has overgrown most everything. It is sad looking today. The Church still stands, but the interior has been destroyed by anything Christain. The floor has the satanic markings, and the alter was ruined. The Baptismal Font was the first thing I am sure to go. Trash litters the graveyard, and nobody cares for it. On another topic, I would like to know what Shadow People are. I have seen them but only in public, like at my previous job. They were dressed in black head to toe. I would only see them out of the corner of my eye. They would "slink" around corners of racks on the docks (I worked on a dock in a warehouse). I often wondered if these beings were trying to tell me something or communicate to me. Whenever I would look at them directly, they would disappear. |
