Everything Happens For A Reason.....
I used to think that this was the dumbest idiom ever, but .... I've since come to see that as simple sounding as it is, that it is true. It's true, that 'everything happens for a reason'.... it doesn't always imply bad JuJu, and it's doesn't necessarily imply that it's good JuJu. It's just .... well.... a simple truth, I think. |
.......On a Wing and a Prayer.......
The above social expression finds it roots as an English proverb, born out of an WWII film, starring John Wayne, called The Flying Tigers. (1942, Black and White war propoganda film). In the film, pilots of planes, nearly on their proverbial last breath, would say that they hoped they could make it back, "on a wing and a prayer." Sometimes, people will say this phrase when saying goodbye to someone they love and care about too...... "I'll let you fly on a wing and a prayer" ..... which i think is a very very sweet way to say goodbye....... :stillheart: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flyi...29?wprov=sfla1 |

Sometimes if a chicken has its head cut off, it may still run around for a while, but of course, without being able to see or know where it is going. The idiom, means to do things very quickly without really thinking properly or having any direction. |
