Vanishing Point....circa. 1970s
Lead actor speeds through small town with the fuzz in hot pursuit via radio. He is being assisted by many people chiefly a black blind DJ in a small town (race is important to plot). Lead is driving a cherry Dodge Challenger coast to coast on a cash bet (he's a professional driver). The dialogue between DJ and driver is paramount.

This flick is of interest mostly to car and racing enthusiasts.

This is the monologue from the movie, "Gettysburg", that is supremely prolific about our acceptance of folks who are different from ourselves. We ALL have a "divine spark", endowed by our Creator. The United States has fought so very, very hard throughout history, and to this very day, to ensure that we are ALL treated equally, under the law, and by each other. All people, without regard to race, color, faith, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, gender ID, are precious, and each life is sacred, important and has value.

This monologue is important today, as it will be *every day*, in this country. I hope you folks here will listen/look at it and understand how very, very important it really is. Thanks. :winky:

Oh that green eyed monster.......

candy_coated_bitch 12-30-2018 11:08 AM

In The Village when Ivy Walker waits for Lucius Hunt on the porch with her hand stretched out, knowing he will come get her because the monsters have invaded the village. She's blind and he gets there just in time. For some reason it's a swoon moment for me, that trust and utter vulnerability by Ivy.

If you, have not seen this movie
It is a ture story of about 7 Gay and Lesbians, who started a group supporting the miners against Thatchers union busting.

this story remained unknown until 2014.

Because of this group of 7, came all the LGBT anti discrimination laws in Britton.

And yes, they do make cameo appearences at the end.

Cloudburst is if not my favorite movie, in the top three. I love the scene in the beginning where Dottie and Stella are looking at the clouds and Dottie asks Stella what shape the clouds are and Stella says to her as she's looking up at the sunset sky, "There's a donkey carrying two nuns and a beagle." It's the most precious moment ever. Olympia Dukakis is a fabulous butch, full stop.
