I light a candle for my family / me today... I need clairity about a family issue. It needs to be resolved but I am so torn. What you resist persists but what I resist keeps me safe. Send positive energy or prayers that I can find peace about it and move on / move forward. :~(

I light a candle for my brother. He is leaving today, hitchhiking who knows where... doing things I wish he wasn't doing. As much as we don't get along, I want more for him then what he wants for himself. I hope his travels find him safe, fed, and warm, and I hope along the way he learns any lessons life sees fit to teach him.

Thank you so very much!!!! She is home, with 2 fractures in her pelvis, but I am still so thankful she had her seatbelt on. It hurts to move much less walk, but she's alive and I could not be more thankful for this.

I didn't know your daughter was in an accident. That's terrible. I'm sorry. I'm glad to hear she's home now. I'm sending good thoughts for her quick healing and recovery. :bunchflowers:

Ecole Polytechnique - In remembrance...

Twenty one years ago today, Marc Lepine, entered the doors of the l'École Polytechnique, the engineering department at the University of Montreal. He did not come out alive. Neither did 14 of his unsuspecting and innocent victims. They were all women. That’s why Lepine killed them. He systematically and methodically sought out women as his targets. They were assassinated in cold blood at Lepine’s hands. He used a small caliber hunting rifle.

"Each and every person in our society has the right to live in safety," said June Draude, Saskatchewan's Social Services Minister and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women. "Our government values the programs and services delivered by community-based organizations that offer support to those experiencing interpersonal violence. Violence is unacceptable and I urge everyone to work together in calling for its end."

In Canada, 40,200 incidents of spousal violence (i.e., violence against legally married, common-law, separated and divorced partners) were reported to pol...ice in 2007. This represents about 12 per cent of all police-reported violent crime in Canada. The majority of victims of spousal violence continue to be females, accounting for 83 per cent of victims.

I saw this on the news today and was very saddened to hear it. I still get very angry when I think how her so-called husband supporter her in her recovery:NOT! Wishing her and her children all the best during her final days!

Big prayers for R please as she has her biopsy surgery at 6:30am tomorrow. They have to cut into her chest for this biopsy, so I'm a little worried for her. It is, however done as an in/out patient which perplexes me since the cut will be in her chest. Personally, I miss the days when at least overnight observation was necessary.
