I've had an idea. When you click the "New" button to read the new posts of a thread, I thought it should take you to the first unread post, not to the end of the thread. Then you have to scroll up to find where the thread left off. Does that make sense, or is there something I'm not seeing?

if you look on the left side of the title of the thread you will see the little blue box with the downward v thingy............click on it and it will take you to the first new/unread post in that thread since the last time you signed in.....if there is no little v box then there are no unread posts (for you) in that thread.....

Hi! A friend suggested I look at the BFP 2012 reunion photos, but I don't know how to search within the photo albums and find them.

Would someone mind please explaining how to do this?

Thanks,
IslandScout

Click on the Search --> put search terms in the box for "Keywords". In the Select Categories section hold the shift key and click with your mouse the two Reunion Photo sections. Then click the Execute Search button. If there is more than one page you will see the word Next Page on the bottom right. Click on that until you find the page with the photo you are looking for.

There's also an album devoted to Reunion 2011 photos here:

Hi Admin, Linus... anybody that can help...

I keep getting booted off, especially when I hit "preview post" or submit... or when I'm switching pages or searching forums. Can someone please check to see if there's a conflict with my IP address? While working out of town, I'm having to use my Droid mobile hotspot or the hotel's Wifi...depending on which signal is the best.

I've had IP address issues in the past...when I had to switch from my phone to a friend's wireless... thought it might be the same issue tonight?

Thanks!!
Sweet

Ohhh. Linus!!! I wanted to ask you a tech question...
sometimes, not all the time, when I want to play in the Two Word or Word Association threads, and say I use a quote for the words (s) I am replying to...I hit submit, and a little box pops up and says I haven't typed enough characters, my reply is too short..so I have to go back and type in my parentheses...this is my reply: and the reply...and it takes it...thanks Linus......grinz...Clay

I'm not Linus and I'm certainly not techy in the least, but...

We have to type a minimum of 10 characters for the system to allow something to post. Are you typing less than that? If so, it won't let you do it.

Is that what you mean?

Also, when you are quoting something, make sure you are typing outside of the quote itself, otherwise it won't register it as your post and, thus, not count towards your 10 character minimum.

What do you mean by "booted off"? Do you mean logged off the site?

And if you have a conflict with another IP address that would be a question for your internet provider and not us.

Thank you.
Yes, logged off the site just within seconds of logging on or when I tried to hit preview or submit (not like timed out for long periods of non-use)...
I was afraid that 'the site' was registering that I was using two internet services with different IP addresses (not at the same time, but when I couldn't get the computer to pick up the hot spot, I used the hotel's WiFi...) ...
Tonight when I logged on, about 2 minutes later when I tried to open a forum, it logged me off... my WiFi has a strong signal and the other webpages I have up haven't been affected. I just wanted to make sure with me traveling lately, that 'the site' isn't getting confused by the different IP addresses I must use. :seeingstars:
I didn't mean to imply that I was having trouble with another IP address... I was just having trouble with staying logged onto the site after switching to the hotel's WiFi.
Thanks again! Things will get better when I get back home and can hook up to my new DSL service.

And if you check the "Keep me logged in" option? Does it keep you on? The "kicking off" doesn't have anything to do with the variety of IPs since I also travel a lot and end up with a variety of IPs, even within the same day.

A visitor message that I meant to post on another member's board, accidentally posted onto mine.
How do I delete it? Or do I need to have the powers that be, delete it?
Or am I stuck with it?

Thanks.

But if there is a "delete" button showing, you can do it yourself.

Don't feel bad, sometimes people accidently report posts when they mean to rep them.

Unfortunately, there was no delete button that I could find...so thank you June, for deleting it.

I have a request.. In another chat room, on another site...... There was an icon of a knife that I really liked to use as my avatar.. It was on the main forum avatar list too.. Is there anyway that we can add that or another knife icon to chat or to the forum icon list? Thank you!

TenderKnight 06-24-2012 03:06 AM

OK, I get booted from chat 30 secs after getting in there... every time for the last hour. No one else is in there. Are we all having issues? Or just me? Maybe I'll restart and try my other connection?:readfineprint:

Medusa 06-24-2012 04:26 AM

The chat servers are having issues. Should be resolved in an hour or two!

This is probably a stupid question but does "timed out" mean they are no longer a member here or something else? Thanks.
