Animal Shelter Wants Pokemon Go Players To Walk Dogs.
“The idea is that they take the dog on kind of an adventure for the day,” Phil Peckinpaugh, shelter director, told The Huffington Post. Peckinpaugh, who said both his nephew and daughter play the game, got the idea after noticing “droves” of people all over the city of Muncie hunting Pokemon with their games. “It would be great if every one of those individuals had one of our dogs with them,” he said. He teamed up with Sam Wiser, an intern in the mayor’s office, and she created the volunteer ad that’s since gone viral on Facebook. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...2761f?section= https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/v8...b555f48ec3f685 But wait! Will the dogs also be at risk of this? By distracted humans? 2 Pokemon Go Players Plunge Off a Cliff. ENCINITAS, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two men who were playing "Pokemon Go" fell off an ocean bluff in Southern California. One man fell about 50 feet down the side of the unstable bluff and the other fell about 90 feet to the beach. http://www.chron.com/news/crime/arti...ff-8378866.php http://www.benettonplay.com/toys/fli...1282598491.gif |
Playboy Model Dani Mathers takes photo of naked woman at the gym, posts it on Snapchat to ridicule.
*This young woman has a really ugly soul, she will hopefully get her comeuppance, learn a life lesson and become a better person. what may be a first for a Playboy Playmate, Dani Mathers was slammed for posting a picture of a naked woman on Thursday. Mathers snapped a photo of a woman showering at an L.A. Fitness gym without her knowledge, and then posted it to her Snapchat with the caption, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.” She then shared a picture of herself laughing — but no one was laughing with her. The backlash has been swift. http://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/...ng-8380139.php http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopo...s16f-1-web.jpg |

I just want us/ people to stop denying the things that are right in front of our faces. Sometimes we're confused but a lot of the time we're just playing games. I think that's our greatest failing. How are we ever going to grow and evolve as a species if we won't stop lying to each other and ourselves? So maybe you don't agree with the vegan position and I can accept that without a lot of complaining but let's stop distorting the facts about everything...

A Big Rush!, yet TERRIFYING!
A thousand foot high glass slide. LOS ANGELES (AP) — I've jumped out of a plane from 13,000 feet. I've ridden 400-foot-tall roller coasters that top speeds of 100 mph, and I once found myself using my fingernails to clutch the side of a rock face way too steep to climb without gear. Heights have never fazed me. Until the Skyslide, a terrifying glass tube on the outside of the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles. It's open to the public Saturday, and journalists were given an early chance to try it out. Perched 1,000 feet above the ground on the side of the tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi, the 360-degree glass slide is utterly terrifying. It's is nearly a straight shot down, except for a small turn at the beginning that causes riders to bump against the side of the glass, much to their horror. I tried not to pay attention to the screams from other people riding the slide as I waited in what seemed like an interminable line. I tried not to think about the fact that just 1¼ inches separated me from a 1,000-foot drop. http://bigstory.ap.org/7242ace0e0e045e8924f531c098105fe Oh baby, next trip to L.A. I'm there! https://media.giphy.com/media/lhb7JTiHmur6g/giphy.gif https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media...f41e2wekhv.jpg |

If your significant other is mad at you, put a cape on them and say, "Now you're Super mad!" If they laugh, marry them.

Remember The Monkees? I was knee high but saw reruns of their television show. Fifty years ago, they released their first single. Times does fly. I have one of their toy guitars, it's so cool and I'm a dork like that. ;)
1966 - The Monkees recorded their first single. The song was "The Last Train to Clarksville" and was later included on their self-titled debut album. https://randalljfunk.files.wordpress...he-monkees.jpg |

Seal found napping in Tasmania bathroom.
http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/660/cps...be4c6d501c.jpg An Australian fur seal that fell asleep in a public toilet block in Tasmania has been safely relocated. A council work crew was startled to find the 120kg (265lb) seal, who they named Sammy, taking a nap in the women's toilets at Mersey Vale Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday. Sammy was sedated and taken to a nearby beach to be released. The cemetery is about 500m from the ocean and it is believed Sammy may have swum up a creek to reach it. http://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/624/c...2_img_0413.jpg *Hope this doesn't hurt Sammy's chances of getting into a good school. :) |
International Clown Week. Aug. 1- Aug 7
http://worldartsme.com/images/seriou...-clipart-1.jpg International Clown Week is celebrated each year during the week of August 1–7. Clown groups often celebrate the week with special activities such as performing volunteer shows or having their local mayor declare the week as a city celebration to coincide with the national and international clown week. Clown Week was celebrated on a limited scale in the 1950s. In 1966 the first International Clown Week chairman, Frank "Kelly the Clown" Kelly, was appointed by Ray Bickford, president of Clown Club of America. In 1967 Clown Club of America members were urged to write to their congressmen and senators requesting a presidential proclamation naming August 1–7 as National Clown Week. In 1969 a resolution was introduced. After clowns met with Senator John McClellan of Arkansas who was chairman of the United States Senate subcommittee on Observances and Holidays success was finally achieved. http://38.media.tumblr.com/d15de2944...lh1io1_400.gif *Homey don't play dat! https://33.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m...cra2o1_400.gif Couldrophobia - By definition, an irrational fear of clowns is known as coulrophobia, with the prefix "coulro" coming from the ancient Greek word for "one who goes on stilts."Apr 20, 2012 |

4,800-Year-Old Fossil Of Mother Cradling Child Unearthed
http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/...ld_Fossil.jpeg The 48 sets of remains unearthed in graves in the Taichung area are the earliest trace of human activity found in central Taiwan. The most striking discovery among them was the skeleton of a young mother looking down at a child cradled in her arms. “When it was unearthed, all of the archaeologists and staff members were shocked. Why? Because the mother was looking down at the baby in her hands,” said Chu Whei-lee, a curator in the Anthropology Department at Taiwan’s National Museum of Natural Science. The excavation of the site began in May 2014 and took a year to complete. Carbon dating was used to determine the ages of the fossils, which included five children. *very moving |
It is that time, my fellow turtle lovers!
Edisto Island, SC. The "Turtle patrol" make human walls to direct the little Loggerhead bobbers to their ocean home. Missouri GOP candidate's entire campaign ad consists of shooting a machine gun in slow motion. :bolt:
If the pomp and absurdity of the presidential campaign is getting you down, and you find yourself longing for a simpler time when a pair of biceps, a crew cut, and a big gun could win an election, you’re in luck, Missouri is still a state! Since it’s a state, it needs a governor, and that governor might very well end up being Republican candidate Eric Greitens. The 42-year-old former Navy SEAL (and former Democrat) won the state’s Republican primary on Tuesday and will now square off with the state’s Democratic Attorney General in the race to replace term-limited Gov. Jay Nixon. Greitens, despite having an impressive resume—Rhodes Scholar, Ph.D. from Oxford University, author, photographer, humanitarian, you know the usual—has focused on his ability to fire a machine gun, which is pretty much what governors do all day. Some people go for a walk or a drive to decompress, Greitens blows off steam by firing a Gatling-style machine gun into a lake. Greitens path to the governor's mansion hopefully isn't relying too heavily on the lakehouse owner vote. http://www.slate.com/content/dam/sla...ediumlarge.png https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media...jh78lz4gic.gif *won't you be my neighbor. U.S. male gymnasts want to be objectified.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/rio-2016...ied-1470625110 When the United States men’s gymnastics team came to the site of the Olympics earlier this year for a reconnaissance training camp, the American athletes did what anyone in Brazil with a carefully sculpted body would do. They went to the beach, stripped to their Speedos and whipped out a selfie stick. The soaring peaks of Sugarloaf Mountain in the background have never looked so meek. What happened next was exactly the reaction the U.S. team imagined. The Internet went gaga for the ensuing Instagrams. That wasn’t an accident. It’s one of the ways they think they can get attention in a country that showers glory upon gold-medal-winning women gymnasts while ignoring America’s less-successful men’s team. http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/9065...SI-9435865.jpg http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/201...ing-05-435.jpg http://www.nbcolympics.com/sites/def...?itok=-xWpPRZ9 |
