My Son's girlfriend gifted me some tomatoes from her garden patch and it's the first time I've had tomatoes that tasted this good since my grandparents died. I'm in my 50's now and I've been complaining about the poor quality of tomatoes ever since. Everyone says when people pass we remember things about them more fondly than they actually were before they died. Maybe it was true, maybe I was picky, anythings possible I thought. I wasn't sure, memory generally fades over time, not improve. However I found out I was right because these are exactly like my grandparents grew. I've had all sorts of tomatoes of all types over the decades and none of them ever tasted like this. Okay I liked her but now it's official – my son can never, ever, ever break up with her. If my son is ever so foolish to leave her we'll have plenty of fresh tomatoes to pelt him with and today at lunch I'm going to tell him so.

Seeing a good friend and her transformation from her male drag to her authentic femme self! Love seeing her happy.

Getting a message, asking how my foot is. It's like my own TLC.
Thank you 😘 |
A visit from one of the hospice nurses.
She knows her stuff and helped us mentally prepare for the inevitable. She also reassured us that we are doing a good job and validated the difficulty of the situation. Plus....she seemed so straight laced (so to speak) but she had all kinds of cool tattoos. I was instantly comfortable with her. She was just so down to earth. Mom is in good hands ♡ |
Hym being home when i got here !!!

Cooking the same meal, hundreds of miles apart.
(Though I'd be smiling a lot bigger if we weren't hundreds of miles apart. LOL) |
Making it through the day without running the air conditioner. It's 6PM, 91 degrees and from here it's just going to keep getting cooler. Yay!

Just about everything! :)
I feel so elated! I was able to drag four very large, very heavy logs out of my backyard. I prepared a take-off strip. Manipulated each one there with that STIHL Cant tool I bought a few weeks ago. Log rollers rock!!! Also had to strategically place some 2x12x24 pieces of lumber along their intended path to prevent them from rolling down and crashing my home in case a tow strap snapped or something else unplanned happened. The first one made me really nervous. I had to go slow, stop several times, adjust my angle, shorten the tow strap. Did this on each one. Very tedious and time consuming to say the least but all went well. I did get a little cocky on the third one after I made it past the house and started down the 150 foot drive way. I hung it on a stump but no big quiz - only extra work. The truck performed well as usual, kept the 4x4 engaged all the time when dragging. Also, found out this type of work is helping with the pain in my right hip, leg, feet and toes. The sciatic pain returned full force almost three weeks ago when I fell on the back patio. It was hurting a lot this morning but shortly after I began the log dragging task, it disappeared. All I know is for each log, I had to roll it to the take-off area ... secure it with straps, then tie it to the truck. Also, because of the size of these logs, I crawled out and climbed back in the truck on the average about fifteen times per log to adjust tow straps along the way . At any rate, I am so so grateful! For a change, I actually had what I describe as a productive day. :) I already have five more lined up, positioned and really to roll. Yes, smiled a lot today! Still am! :) |
turning the corner in my new apartment only to find my dog stone cold asleep face planted in his toy. LMAO. I guess he likes the new place!

Once again all day I have been using the truck to drag large logs from the backyard down to the front of the property. I did not have my angle right on this especially large one. In fact, it was the largest one in the backyard. Anyway, It started rolling down towards my home. I had lost all control of it. Thank goodness I had not filled in a hole where I had burned a stump. That saved the day! No joke, I near chit myself when it flipped off on its own.
I grinned from ear to ear when the it got caught on the side of the embankment of the stumphole. Then I went nuts cheering, whooping and waving my hat in the air. LOL! :) The pooches and I are about to take a nap now. *still grinning* |
spending a nice day with my love.

Smile...
Texting with a friend while they are at an informal work dinner and getting random pics throughout the evening. Some were a little blurry. That definitely made me smile. :stillheart:

It's been a good day! I've had awesome interactions with folks, I can hear a contractor working on a long suffering problem next door at work and I am going to get my hair cut soon. Good things!

So, I was out shopping for back to school stuff.. yanno how just about everything is on sale....including pet stuff. So, I am buying some sale items that i intended to "put away for christmas" and well, when i get home apparently Pete thought he needed a back to school present too. YEP! He proceeded to go into the bag of toys and pick out the one that piqued his interest and when I "busted" him he just looked up at me all innocent wagging his little tail and almost "thanking"me for the new back to school toy.......
lmao.. of course who could get mad as such and intelligent dog! :jester: |
