I got them two days early! The new cuff links I intend for graduation! They finally came in and two days earlier than anticipated and they are everything I had hoped them to be. Absolutely perfect! NOW..... graduation...here I come!

I have been working on digital art lately.

Today I finished a sketch of a friend and gave it to them... and they loved it!

That made me smile.

That phenomenal feeling when several people question your ability to cook and you end up winning first place in the office Chili Cook-off......

You wanna be excited and in the moment: YES! it made me smile!

But then reality sank in and I beat out several of my professors.....including my supervisor. Reality: :|

I think we should make an "I had an unbelievably AWESOME day because" thread.

Because this was beyond just a smile! I had asked one of my professors if they would be willing to do a research project with me and the response was (without hesitation) a YES! I even had another professor come up and vouch that I would be a great candidate to do research with! WOOT WOOT!

Hello PhD!!! HERE I COME!

Spending the first half of the afternoon with an old friend of mine, one of my two male friends, having a bit of a catch-up on each others news opver a cuppa at a nice little cafe. We've known each other half a lifetime now, which I never would have expected when we first met. Seen each other through a lot. We're both just as daft as we were, crikey, nearly 30 years ago- we just have less energy to put into it. But we're still plotting the odd moments of silly mayhem..

She booked the hotel for us for her visit!

Made me smile really big knowing no work at job until Monday.

I slept late - until almost 7:00 and did not feel guilty.

The dogs made me not only smile but laugh at their antics. They all wanted to snuggle with me just before we got up. I only have two sides. Jeffrey circled me twice before he plopped down on Jennifer. She crawled out from under him and wiggled in between Kevin and I. Kevin was not bothered in the least.If it had been Kevin wiggling in on Jennifer, she would have gone back to her pillow and pouted. They are so funny!

this made me smile today ...

I stopped at Walmart to buy a new air filter for my truck. Cutest little butch woman helped me. She looked up the model number of the filter after I gave her details year, make, engine size, etc. ... I asked her would she put it on for me. Normally I would have done that but I had just left the doctor, then filled a script for pain. I could barely walk this morning.

We walked out to my truck and she was asking about the limp and back brace. She said she knew sciatic pain is horrible. I asked her if she had experienced it. She said she hadn't but her wife had. Anyway, here she is a small wirey mechanic in a uniform that swallows her, working in a man's world in a small country town.

I enjoyed talking to her as she switched the old to new air filter. Not hard to do for a well person but the stretching on tippy toes would have killed me. At one point in our conversation, it became conveinent for me to tell her I am gay too. She grinned big, became more talkative about her personal stuff. As we were parting company, she told me to always ask for her when I came in for any needs regarding my truck. I told her I certainiy would. I could easily be wrong but I would bet she has an ultra feminine wife.

Being in mutual agreeance with her about further going into the relationship, open communication!

A cleverly written postcard from Chicago!

took my new cuff links and shirt out for a test run today. They were both a hit! Can't wait for graduation.....soon....sooner than I thought. Also sat down with my academic advisor... (I always keep her on her toes)....... and now stress is coming.... s#*t's getting real!

where to move to now.....oh the places i will go! Alaska! I hear they pay for people to be flown out there.....

Received the letter for being awarded the foundation scholarship..

Received an email for a potential G.A. summer position. The instructor only had me in mind for the position, too! How fantastic is that?

New Fridge
 

Am delighted with the new fridge, which was a going-away present from the building manager (who left) - (I had mentioned to him a few weeks before he left how the old two-door one still worked but was a bit noisy, the seal around the door was looking a tad raggedy, etc.) - this new one is energy-efficient and has a larger freezer section, perfect!!! :)

Bought a new air purifier which is whisper quiet... what a delightful week :)

Bought new jeans... and other goodies :)

Cherry trees are in bloom, and weather is lovely; will be taking full advantage of the good weather to be out and about more and more :)

Don't feel like doing anything at all but enjoying the beauty around me this upcoming summer.

Waking to find Monte curled up, way up high on one of his perches, sleeping. Him waking up startled by the noise of me preparing breakfast and looking around to see what the commotion was about. Then seeing it was only me, him relaxing, and falling right back to sleep. It feels good knowing he trusts me to look after him, safeguard his interests. Which of course I do because well, after all he is Monte the Magnificent.
