Making plans for the Trans parade with my bud, Ross and seeing him smile about this being the first year he will be shirtless! Cracking me up- he's like a little kid all excited!
Making plans for the Dyke parade with someone that is great getting to know and seeing Fabled Asp being honored at the parade. There will be a huge disabled dyke crowd this year!!! Seeing the long-time Bay Area P-FLAG contingent embracing their queer kids as they have for decades in the Gay parade. BASIL will be out and about, as usual... Vive Italia!!! Knowing that for years so many have given so much to make social and political strides for our entire queer community and being a part of this effort. The local B-F organizations are a very active part of this effort here and that helps with B-Fdom being represented. Knowing our queer partner dance organizations will be dancing in the streets this weekend for Pride!! |
A joyful, full, and happy life brings me joy today.
Came home last night to find that Jack had crabbed all the laundry and washed the dog. As a matter of fact, I think she washed every surface in the house :| We then sat down to a lovely steak dinner, did a little cleaning up in the bedroom, watched a good movie, snuggled, and slept soundly on clean sheets. This morning, we had our normal coffee routine together and then when I was in the shower she brought my iPod stereo and blasted some Beyonce for me. The simple things matter and I am deeply thankful for the love and simple joy in my life. |
Heard back within hours of posting a job application. :)
I've been feeling so uneasy about my current job--don't know why. I should be grateful. It's kind of a "dream job" if you like to do nothing and don't need any feedback or supervision. Problem is, I ike to work with a team, get feedback, and be busy. New job possibility combines all my experience into a brand new position with an expanding program. Hope it works out the way it's supposed to. |
What brought me joy today...
Seeing the progress of our remodeling project coming together. The living room already looks bright with a fresh coat of paint. I've got a hot lunch date at my favorite Thai restaurant. Plans after work to spend the evening with my cousin that it's in from out of town and my brother.... enjoying yummy mexican food & then going to play a lil' pool. |
Waking up with my girl, snuggling her and nuzzling her neck. Feeding her dog and giving her lots of love and pets. Making it to work semi-on-time.
Going to yoga tonite, followed by some writing and then to bed with a good book of short stories... |
Possibilities.

My new hairstyle...
The "correction/repair/fix" that the stylist who screwed up my hair on Tuesday attempted on Wednesday was merely a shorter version of Tuesday's tragedy. She gave me the "Old Woman Pixie Cut" or as the stylist who rescued me last night calls it "PTA lady hair." My friend who owns my favorite metaphysical/BoHo store in Concord recommended I contact her stylist. A woman with some 30+ years experience who works at, of all places, Supercuts. I thought to myself "Hmmmmmmmm....wonder what she can do for me...can't possibly be any worse than what I have now....but I am running out of hair..." She gave me the most adorable cut that is exactly what I wanted and more! Up to date, modern, sassy, cute, funky and totally me! She was so totally in tune with me, something I did not expect. Definitely found a new stylist! |
