Dinner

We ate Christmas dinner early. I grilled porterhouse steaks, lobster, asparagus, baked potatoes, and a white onion. Mom added English peas and rolls.
Raspberry tea to drink.

I am stuffed!

Wrang1er 12-25-2015 04:11 PM

I am going to grill a steak and asparagus and fry some corn. Plus some rolls and a glass of wine or two.

cinnamongrrl 12-26-2015 02:31 PM

I'm craving curry....so either curried chicken or chickpeas...rice if I have some...otherwise just veggies on the side..not sure what kind yet...maybe a sweet potato. I bought a ton of them...

RockOn 12-28-2015 10:35 PM

pork and beans with shredded pork in them, potato salad ( both from deli)
little grape tomatos, two milks

3 of the little plastic containers of cherry jello, another milk with saltines crushed in it, half a jar of olives

about 10 kumquats
why is it every time I think or say the word "kumquat" my mind goes to a devilishly delicious dirty sexual place? Does this happen to any of you, I wonder??

I mean every. single.freaking.time. ... it is back now since I told you I ate 10 of them.

JDeere 12-28-2015 10:40 PM

Stuffed green peppers with cookies for dessert

I've never actually had a kumquat...but yes...dirtinesd prevails just hearing the name....lol

Jesse 12-29-2015 12:35 PM

Tonight I will have a chicken & artichoke wrap with feta, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, lettuce and Greek dressing. Also a small Greek salad, all from one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. :)

You really need to try "those things." They look like an oblong orange about the size of a grape tomato. Just wash them off and pop them in your mouth ... you eat the entire thing. Oh so tasty ... both sweet and tart.

Get some ... bet you will really like them! :)

and yes, my mind just went all juicey again ... my face is right there in it ... ;)

cinnamongrrl 12-29-2015 06:34 PM

I seasoned a chicken breast with coriander, paprika and adobo...

Added veggies and it was dinner.

Italian ice for dessert...

princessbelle 12-31-2015 05:09 PM

I made homemade lasagna tonight for the first time in forever. OMG it was delish. I've been cooking things all week and freezing them. Next is hot tamales. I've been so high energy lately and all i want to do is cook and bake. My freezer is getting full!!!

cinnamongrrl 01-01-2016 07:27 PM

I had lunch at IHOP while I was out and about..

I had a spicy chicken. Sandwich and seasoned fries. They were generous with the seasoning and I was happy with that....however....every time I eat out they forget the dang pickle.. it shows a pickle on the menu and yet I don't get one. Pickles are always my favorite part.

I was tempted to get the pumpkin waffle sundae but I was stuffed...another time...I am such a pumpkin whore...

I got home too late to cook but I had toast and jam, some seeds and a tangerine....it sufficed

I made raviolis with red sauce, it should have been good but I used a can of Brookshires traditional sauce, I got a case when they had a $6.00 case of several things. I knew it wasn't going to be what I'm use to. So I used seasonings and herbs to help it along, warning beware It isn't fixable no matter what, the tomato acid is as raw as it comes. It was supposed to be useable right out of the can, no way folks. Next time I need to strip paint off anything I will use it...my poor stomach feels I swallowed battery acid. I pitched it all in the trash what I cooked and every can left.

Chad 01-01-2016 10:32 PM

I am sorry to hear your dinner was so bad. We have Brookshire here too so thanks for the heads up.

Today was my parents' annual New Year's Day party... So I didn't really eat "dinner", just munched off and on during the party.

Jesse 01-02-2016 05:16 PM

Orange chicken and a spring roll

cinnamongrrl 01-02-2016 06:03 PM

Well...

I was in the mood for something kind of different...

So...

I peeled and cubed a large sweet potato...sauteed it in some Tuscan herb olive oil...added some cubed chicken and a little water to simmer the potatoes...added a bit of a frozen spring veggie mix, added some 21 season salute and everyday spice for good measure....

Cubing sweet potatoes Is not an easy task....while I was doing it, I swore I'd never do it again...but the results were so yummy...I may just have to...

easygoingfemme 01-02-2016 06:44 PM

Learned something new- 21 season salute. Going to check that out!

I didn't eat lunch until about 3pm today so I think I'm skipping dinner at this point...
