“We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming - well, that’s like saying you can never change your fate. And that isn't true.” ― Amy Tan
“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.” ― Pablo Neruda “All of sudden, this shooting star went by, and all I could think was that they were listening to me somehow. ” ― Nicholas Sparks |
There is a voice that you can hear when you're still
It tells you everything you need to know It's a seed, it's a whisper, it lights a darkened room It says.. More than the rivers More than the sea More than the mountains And all of the valleys This is your home It breathes life into your lungs A single breath connecting like a silver thread Love to sorrow...Joy to dread More than the rivers More than the sea More than the mountains And all of the valleys This is your home This is your home... free. ~J. Kilcher |
The finest thing in the world is knowing how to belong to oneself. ~Michel de Montaigne, Of Solitude |
Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased. It is never for sale. It cannot be fabricated out of public relations. It comes to us when we are alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when we suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the truth we have spoken it. ~Whitney Griswold |
"Every natural fact is a symbol of some spiritual fact. "
Ralph Waldo Emerson |
Love is a smoke made
with the fume of sighs, being purged, A fire~ sparkling in lover's eyes ~**~ being vexed, a sea nourished with lover's tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, A choking gall... and a preserving sweet. (w) ~Shakespeare |
Nothing to Save
by D. H. Lawrence There is nothing to save, now all is lost, but a tiny core of stillness in the heart like the eye of a violet. |
“But she loves me. Me. Just the way I am.” ― P.C. Cast
“God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hopeless.” ― Chester Nimitz “Beware how you take away hope from another human being” ― Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. |
The Morning Walk by Mary Oliver
There are a lot of words meaning thanks.
Some you can only whisper. Others you can only sing. The pewee whistles instead. The snake turns in circles, the beaver slaps his tail on the surface of the pond. The deer in the pinewood stamps his hoof. Goldfinches shine as they float through the air. A person, sometimes, will hum a little Mahler. Or put arms around old oak tree. Or take out lovely pencil and notebook to find a few touching, kissing words. |
The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love for your dream for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon... I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain mine or your own without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy mine or your own if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful to be realistic to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me and therefore trustworthy.is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure yours and mine and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes.” It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children. It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back. It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone in the empty moments.with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep |
.....there is nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it is sent away....

Each day, awakening, are we asked to paint the sky blue? Need we coax the sun to rise or flowers to bloom? Need we teach birds to sing, or children to laugh, or lovers to kiss? No, though we think the world imperfect, it surrounds us each day with its perfections. We are asked only to appreciate them, and to show appreciation by living in peaceful harmony amidst them. The Creator does not ask that we create a perfect world; He asks that we celebrate it. ~Robert Brault |
I was in a little mountain village and found this ...
* I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you'll eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and some times good things fall apart so better things can fall together. |
We have only this moment,
sparkling like a star in our hand....* and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it before it is too late. ~Marie Beynon Ray |
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.....

Try to learn something about everything and everything about something. --Thomas Huxley

“The most depressed people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand. Without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there's nothing to make it last.”― Nicholas Sparks
"Sometimes you don't need a goal , you don't need to know the big picture. You just need to know what you're going to do next!”― Sophie Kinsella " Life is too short to live it badly." Unknown |
