Smile Today
Chad I am so sorry for your loss. I worked almost 13 years at a vet clinic and I saw the anguish some people went through from the loss of a beloved pet. So much love is given by our babies and we have no problem giving it back. It is a mutual love in. I have lost many myself but please take a moment to remember the wonderful times you had together and the love you shared. We who have pets or have had them in the past realize their true value, not as a commodity or status symbol but as a friend and companion.

This week I'm in the land of many, I mean lots of poinsettias and real pine trees! This year, by far, surpasses last Holiday season🎄 |
I have had this black cat with huge green eyes visiting the front porch for a while. I think it's a She, and she is skinny as all get up. Sooo, I put some food out. And again. And again. She has become so loving, I'm surprised. She is craving attention. Well, I'm on my second bag of food for her. I think I'm going to name her.
I tend to name my pets around what's going on in my life. So Thanksgiving..umm and she is so sweet..sweet potatoes come to mind. Better yet...marshmallows usually go on top of sweet potatoes. So the new black cat is Marshmallow. Marsha for short. Jelly bean inside and Marshmallow outside. They have spied each other thru the windows. So far so good..smiling |
Made me smile today
The "family" just left and the little one was just hugging and hugging (that child has energy plus LOL) They brought me 2 cases of water (24 bottles each) plus 2 X24 of Ice tea. I am all set. I did not get it when I shopped to day as I bought too much.

I'm smiling, almost non-stop, as I watch Johnny Depp as Tonto in "The Lone Ranger" film...what silly, wonderful, over-the-top fun.

I'm smiling because my boss decided to make our daily staff meetings only twice a week! (still too often, IMO, but it's an improvement)

Getting my temple bells hung up where I've been envisioning them to be for months, today.
It was a pretty big project and I'm feeling all accomplished and stuff. ツ |
We have had a lot of staff out with covid, especially in the front office. So, today I went in and gave the girls some decadent chocolates that they really appreciated.
I told them it was for their mental health break for this Friday. :eatinghersheybar: |

Before Christmas I went to the library to reserve a book I wanted to read. I was number 2.
Today, I stopped at the library to find out the status. Well, my email address was incorrectly entered. You know zeros vs O's. So today I had 3 choices. Download the book. ..umm no, I know I would never read, I'd get distracted. Be number 15 on the wait list. Or, check out the book club version. Which is 15 copies to share with your book club. Lol, who knew they had this feature?? Lol I'm getting a bag of books on Monday to read one! |
This afternoon I watched the first of the deer to swim across the short channel in the lagoon to the island, in winter they go over to have their fawns. Just waiting for the new arrivals!

People on a busy intersection holding up signs saying, "Honk if you want T---p removed from office."
Naturally, I laid on the horn and honked liked crazy. *honk honk honk* |
So many beautiful sunrises, this winter, but today's sunrise was very beautiful. :)

I am having serious allergies with Cedar Fever this year. I called the nurse to ask for a steroid shot and then came a million questions. She asked if I was drinking a lot of water. I said that I drink more than two quarts of tea a day. We both laughed. Smile

Just when I was ready to boycott Walmart grocery online forever they redeemed themselves. They apologized profusely, not once - twice! Then refunded all the money I'd spent. Not even charging me for the items that arrived in good shape that I'm still able to use.

What I saw looking out the kitchen window to the pond behind our house where half of the pond has a thin layer of ice and the other half is open. Hard to believe but I saw three mallards, two males and a female! I smiled and dragged Bevi into the kitchen to see, told Bevi's son who lives next door to grab his 5 year old son and look out the window. A winter treat to be sure. It gave us all a smile but also a big :| :|.

It was a late start but a pretty fabulous morning. My son and I went out yesterday to do a little bargain hunting but got behind, so went out again today. I found an Avocado box spring and mattress set, less than a year old, in excellent condition it must have been an open box or return. It didn't come with their headboard/frame/foot board but have a used set that will work. It is so comfortable, so sturdy. My son is super happy, he's been at me to get a bed now for years and years, especially after surgery. He kept insisting, I kept resisting. I guess I just don't like to admit that I'm not as tough as I used to be. Anyhow, Monte has given it a test drive, turned up his nose, he doesn't seem to be happy at all about the upgrade.

My garden makes me smile. Right now I have so many flowers blooming..
Red begonias Yellow marigolds Purple pansies White and pink geraniums Coral hibiscus Red gerber daisies Blue lobelia Purple delphinium I recently planted, thai basil, Greek oregano, parsley and sweet basil. I love the fresh herbs right outside my door! I also have mint coming back from the frost. Soon, gardenias will be blooming. And...I'm going to plant sweet peas. Smile Today
I use to live in Mississauga (just outside Toronto) and on the news was the 100th birthday of the ex mayor who retired at the age of 94. Noone would run against her as she could not be outvoted in 36 yrs. Longest running mayor. Hurricane Hazel we called her. This wonderful woman built the city of Mississauga and got an art museum and skating arena for the people. She was loved by most who knew her. I met her twice and was honored to do so. All 4'10'' of her was amazing. I hope this wonderful woman lives at least 10 yrs more for sure and beyond that if it is meant to be. She was born on valentines day and had the biggest heart.
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Madam and may you have many many more. |
