I am sure I would have run 10 miles today if I wasn't sick in bed. Bummer.
|
Well what do you know, the gym bought me the perfect prezzie while I stepped out for a bit. It's super cool and exactly what I want. :cheesy:
Can I do it right now? No, but what a treat to work up to. Today I went in for standard issue cardio for 40 mins at target heart rate which for me is 137. That worked out to 500 cals and 2 miles per hour. Now all I have to do is plug in time and let the spread sheet do the rest; as long as I use the cardio program on any of the toys I will be able to determine progress by seeing how many "bars" of resistance is being used to keep me there. I can now achieve my goal with 1-2 bars.  Oh well, at least there is plenty of room for improvement. For the next 4-6 weeks I'm going to keep doing what I started a bit back. The good news is that missing time didn't cost me any gains in strength, I picked up with the exact same workout and weights though I might be a touch sore tomorrow it was fine. Keeping in mind my PT, I've been doing; Abductor (modify the position on this for PT) Adductor Glute kick backs Hanging leg raises Chest press Lat pull downs Leg press +PT at home +walk outside for 2-3 miles Most of this is "girly" exercise (to me) which I've spent most of my life avoiding and turns out they bite back when you ignore them. So now I do them. Core rules. NOW I get to add playtime at the end which I did today to get acquainted with my new best friend. :cheer::cheer: The basic setup: (nevermind, per usual this site won't accept images today) SO: I found a video out of Mexico that shows some of the variety of things you can do. It seems like this is timed class of some sort, in my gym the apparatus is just there for anyone to use as they wish. There are a lot of things you could do for crossfit and full TRX stations along with a huge assortment of resistance bands and untold ways to hook them up. Now I can do all of my PT here. :cheesy: Anyone who has ever bounced a ball off of a wall (me) will love the bouncing medicine ball station. I played with that for 100 bounces and other than the one that nearly got away and could easily have broken my nose, is hella fun. The woman in the video is chicken. |
Finally I got to go back to the gym after a week of being sick. It made it feel so good! It's a reminder when I can't exercise how much it affects my mood for the negative.
Today: 1 hour stair master (highlight: a butch-femme couple on Judge Judy --Judy loves the gays). 30 minutes weight lifting, light abs, yoga, and leg exercises. |
Beats sitting on the couch....
Did TABATA this morning before work.
Then walked on the treadmill tonight to make it to 10k steps today. |

Anyone who can do a proper TABATA and not drop dead has my total respect. Jest sayin'
Today was pretty much a rinse and repeat of yesterday with a couple of tweaks. I have mixed feelings about the glute aperatus that ends up as a sort of donkey kick. My knee and low back aren't sure. I may switch back to a good old Hamtractor (if I can find it). Doesn't do the same job, but close with back protection. The other thing was that I added more playtime at the end on the new contraption. I like the bouncy thing with the medicine ball A LOT and had fun there, I do anticipate at some point breaking my face with it though. Then I tried out a few things on the TRX straps, I've seen them for years but never had them to try out. I'll be over on the machines getting stronger before spending too much time there. It is good for inverted rows though which may lead one day to the elusive pull-ups. :cheesy: |
An hour on the exercycle, as usual, standing on the pedals like in a spin class, alternating between high-intensity and low.

It was a cold, rainy, snowy day today. I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the stair master, 30 minutes on the treadmill, and 30 minutes of exercises on the mat (weight lifting, abs, and stretching). I like to be at the gym on a Saturday night.

Nights are hard for me. I have more energy in the morning and less food in my belly. I hate working out when I feel weighted down. I did nothing today, except sleep a few minutes later. For the most part, I'm okay but I have had a few more spasms than I usually do. It could be worse, so I'm glad I took the day off. Tomorrow's a long day, so I'll have plenty to report. |
It was quiet. I like the feeling of bonding with the small group of others who are there on a Saturday night.
Tonight I did a Sunday night at the gym, which was verrrryyy quiet! I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster and then 30 minutes of back strengthening exercises and yoga. Quote:

I did an hour of running intervals at the gym. Nothing to crazy but it felt good to get back into it again!! :)

January 4, 2015
T35, random program, levels 10 and 13 Stats: 465 cal, 3.29 mi, 65:00 min No intervals I basically hiked on the treadmill today. I started out on level 10 but it kept giving me a lot of intervals, so I moved it up to level 13, which made the lowest incline 1.5. It was a good, sweaty workout and I took the time to do my PT stretches and some additional stretches at the end. Good day! January 5, 2015 Quickie because of a doctor's appointment. T33, random program, levels 8-9 Stats: 227 cal, 1.88 mi, 35:00 min Intervals: 1 @ 60 sec. 1 @ 90 sec. Both @ 5.3 mph and .5 incline. |
Tomorrow is an "off" day because it's a two-job day (minimal time). Today I had a great work-out: 30 min. stair master and 30 min. of floor work (weight lifting, abs, stretching).
|
My mechanic has my car so there's no gym this morning. I took a short walk outside and only lasted about 20 minutes before my legs felt like they had needles sticking in them.
Ah, winter. |
Hard morning, exercisers.
Not getting a decent workout yesterday plus the shoveling and sanding/salting did a number on my hip and leg. I went as long as I could this morning but it wasn't long enough. I'm still hurting. Bah. I'm over winter and we still have 4 months to go! T33, random program, level 7 Stats: 291 cal, 2.45 mi, 45:00 min Intervals: 3 @ 60 sec @ 5.3 mph, 1 @ 60 sec @ 5.7 mph I was trying to knock the last knot out with my last, faster interval but it didn't work. Tomorrow's going to be a cold one. -2 degrees with a wind chill of -19. Brrrrrr......:cold: |
Hey everyone!
I don't usually post in here cause I'm an exercise slacker. But... I went for a walk last night as part of my effort to channel Jillian Michaels. Yesterday we started a competition at work for those who want to lose weight. We get weighed in weekly and at the end of the 12 weeks the "biggest loser" wins $300. I'm a bit competitive (ahem) ... I'm gonna get that moolah! |
4+ hours a day of heavy cleanng is all ive managed thus far. But as I balanced on my tummy on the edge of a ginormous jetted tub while rinsing it....I realized....who needs yoga?? As my cleaning partner says... we practice cleaning gymnastics!
I havent been near a scale....but I got down to a smaller size pants...they were a bit snug when zipped...and the other day without thinking I took them off without unbuttoning them. Soooo....yes cleaning counts. I'M also not eating a lot though. Grocery shopping must occur today! Its my least favorite shopping :( |

You can do it. |
Today's workout was a little better but I started at a worse point, so in all actuality, it was a wonderful workout.
T33, random program, level 7 Stats: 269 cal, 2.33 mi, 45:00 min Intervals: 1 @ 90 sec @ 5.7 mph The one concerning point was that I had a bit of trouble catching my breath after the interval. I wasn't happy about that but things worked out okay. -2 to -20 this morning. Chilly! |
Good evening, exercisers!
I had a good workout this morning but I certainly needed it. I had a bad, bad, BAD night in terms of comfort and pain and good sleep but I managed to crawl to the gym anyway. T33, random program, level 13 Stats: 311 cal, 2.08 mi, 45:00 min No intervals Lots of hills and peaks and valleys and I needed each and every one of them. As it tends to do, my hip and leg got worse throughout the day but I had my PT tonight and I feel a little better. I've got the weekend off so I will devote a good portion of each day to doing the stretches and exercises I was given. Even the ones I hate. |
I've been struggling this week. Even though I exercise in a gym in the winter, I've just felt totally shut down with how freezing it is. I am really hoping to get back on track this weekend- since I'll have a break from work (school work schedule). I'll report back in tomorrow.
|
I don't exercise nearly enough. Right now I am just getting in 30 minutes of walking a day as I walk to and from work. Going to be adding 45 min to an hour gym visits here soon though.
|
I played cpuch potato today....tomorrow will be warmer and I will hike after oroentation and before the BIG GAME
|
I had a plan to get back in shape and had started by lifting weights in our basement.. Even joined a gym thinking it is open 24 hours and I can go after work.. BUT the clots in my lungs have sidetracked that for now however once I have the all clear from the doc I am going to hit it. I have already dropped 27 pounds and now I want to tighten the rest of me up ya know :police:

Dearest exercisers, how are you?
Good to see you, Bard. Now that Dapper's on the mend from the pseudo flu, I expect we'll see more of him as well. Ladies, good to see you as well! I'm in a great mood today, if you couldn't tell. I got a TON of sleep and even lounged about in bed for quite a lengthy time before finally rolling out and getting to the sauna....I mean, gym. Who on Earth does not turns ceiling fans on higher when the building....the WHOLE building....is 3/4 full? My gym staff. To me, it's common sense. To them? I can't even begin to tell you. But they often look surprised when I ask that the fans be turned on so who knows what's going on between all of those ears? I did minimal cardio because of this and I got squished...forget sandwiched....SQUISHED, I tell you!....on a new to me treadmill, which is not an altogether bad thing. It's just not under a fan, sadly. Slow moving or not, they shift the air around so I can mentally talk myself into thinking it's cooler than it is. T32, random program, level 7 Stats: 204 cal, 1.69 mi, 30:00 min Intervals: 1 @ 90 sec @ 5.4 mph, 1 @ 60 sec @ 5.5 mph, 1 @ 60 msec @ 5.6 mph, 1 @ 60 sec @ 5.7 mph Did you see what I did there? Didja? Didja? I followed that by going into the ONLY cool area in the place and doing circuit training. Upper body since it's been so long. Now that my neck is feeling better, I feel comfortable getting back into it. Yay! Afterwards, I headed back to the very back and pulled a mat out and went to Stretch Town. I even did some PT stretches and exercises and some ab work with a round barbell weight. It was a really good workout but I am going to get to the gym earlier tomorrow so I can nab a better location for my cardio and then I'll likely do some lower body circuit training as well. I'd like to talk about cravings. Totally not at all because I'm giving in to one RIGHT NOW. Nope, not at all. :innocent: So, anyway. I've been craving fries for a few days and I gave in a few days ago but the craving came back and has stuck around. I decided to give into it today (that it was a rational decision versus a spur of the moment thing makes it better, right?) and am now eating a small chili and a medium fry. Well, I'm done with the chili but not the fries and I'm debating whether to toss the remaining ones or finish it all. Decisions, decisions! I made it better by pairing them with 2% shredded cheese and fresh blueberries and low fat chocolate milk. That makes it okay, right? :cheesy: |
I did end up going to the gym today. 30 mins on the stationary bike at a random program kept the level lower however. Then a short circuit of the weight machines only 2 sets of 10 and lower weight then I would normally. Finished off with 15 mins on the Arc Trainer. All told I spent a hour and 15 there not to bad and I feel pretty:sunglass: good [/I]
|
---exercise experience? Whats that?
|
Great day at the gym today. 1 hour Free Motion treadmill (3mph, 3 to 18.5 incline, intervals). I have one gripe with it. I see a "stop" button but not a "pause" button. Is it able to be paused? Then 30 min. stair master (moderate intervals- well, it calls it moderate intervals but I find it to be "intense"). Then 1 hour of weight lifting, ab exercises, yoga, and stretching.
|
Hit my 10,000; steps goal for today! Going to try and get that many steps in every single day. I would eventually like to work myself up to running so this is a good starting point for me.
|
Its warming up finally. Im thinking since my work blew off two days on my schedule I may just blow off the meeting im supposed to go to and go for a nice long hike instead.....
:cigar2: You dont fuck with this girl's hours!! |
Woke up to snow this morning and I have to work later so I am doing a home work out.:goodluck: So far I have done 20 mins on the small stepper we have, 30 crunches 20 Squats withe weight on my shoulders and 20 overhead presses with 50 lbs on the bar. 15 min jog on the mini trampoline while the dogs where outside and finished up with 20 mins on the elliptical. now just doing some stretching to cool down. I will also get my 100000 steps in tonight at work and there are going to be a hella lot of stairs so I am not feeling bad about missing the gym today. I think I have got it covered ....:police:
|
Another good workout today, exercisers! It's not hard to have a good workout on an off day. There's a certain freedom to it. I look at the clock less and am not usually adding up everything I need to do once I'm done like I do on working days that I work out.
T35, random program, level 7 Stats: 303 cal, 2.54 mi, 45:00 min Intervals: 2 @ 90 sec and 3 @ 60 sec and all @ 5.5 mph The intervals came like bookends today, which was kind of nice. The long ones were first and last with the short ones playing monkey in the middle. I followed that up with lower body circuit training and lots of stretching and PT exercises. |
I did a section of the Mountain to Sea (MTS) trail today. A lottalotta uphill....ergo....a lotta downhill...which I find harder.
Started out dressed for winter and ended up wanting to hike in my skivvies  An awesome day for an awesome hike. Its amazing how full your lungs can get while hiking....and how good it can feel to be exhausted and exhilirated at the same tine.... |
Another good gym day. Stairmaster: 1 hour (intervals 3-12); floor exercises and weight lifting: 1 hour.
I had a tense interaction with a gym member I don't do well with* and that got my heart beating fast and made the weight lifting easier. It's nice that unpleasant interactions have the side effect of putting the body into a mode where exercising is easier. It's the body preparing for a fight. *He and I both like to lift the same pair of 20 pound free weights (aka the only ones), and in these cases it would be preferable to share in a neighborly way but I can't seem to work that out with him. It gives me more motivation to get myself up to the 25 pound free weights so that we don't have to deal with each other at all! |
5 historic missions in 3 hours. that's a lot of walking :)
can't wait until the school gym opens up. I'm so ready. |
Ended up doing around 12,000 steps today. Goal totally accomplished!
|
Good morning, exercisers!
Interesting night. I went to bed early as I want to take better care of myself and get a full 8 hours when I can but my body is so used to 'work day' sleep that it took me forever to get to sleep and then I awoke early. I did try to get back to sleep but failed. End result? I slept the normal amount of time I normally do. Bah. I have to work on that, especially since I have to get up at 4am tomorrow to work out and go to PT before work. Here's my stuff: T33, random program, level 8 Stats: 280 cal, 2.37 mi, 45:00 min Interval: 1 @ 90 sec @ 5.5 mph I moved to the back and did some super quick ab work and did some of the PT exercises and stretches. |
