I was actually stunned to see my former loves' righthand man (Rico's best man) today and after we stopped and chatted for a short bit, I noticed how in a year my ex-loves' best man had a whole bunch of silver in his hair that he never had last year. He said losing Rico was real hard on him and that he'd inherited all his work projects,,, which Rico was always super busy. He made it look so easy but his best man and I knew differently. And we both smiled, knowingly, the thing about me commenting on his hair turning silver -- all of a sudden.

It was good to see him and reminisce about my former love. And, smile.

What made me smile today is learning that Brittany is a real trooper when it comes to going out to potty in the rain! No messing around, no attitude, just marched right out into it and pottied and came right back in.

I don't think she's used to getting toweled off after getting rained on. She looked at me like I was kind of crazy when I did it. But then she did the doggie shake-shake-shake and all was well.

My first coffee always makes me smile.

I've been in a newish routine with coffee for about a year now where I do a French Press first thing in the morning and then drink it black in my favorite "Church of Satan" hand-thrown coffee mug.

I had my 2nd chemo treatment yesterday and I couldn't be happier with how they are going. A bit of extra tiredness but no pain or nausea at all. 2 treatments down, 4 to go!

A phone call from my bff.

My BFP login trauma drama resolved. Well actually it happened day before yesterday but didn't find out until yesterday and didn't get around to sharing my smiles about it until just now :danceparty:

My brother came in and picked me up and we went to lunch. Had a wonderful talk about family and how we are the only two left to count on each other. He is super special and a wonderful brother. Could not do better if I picked him myself.

Made me smile today and many days. My dad before he passed told me that his brother told him that if he saw a knife standing on edge (hard to do) that meant he was thinking of him on the other side. Well again today my dads knife stood on its blade and I smiled and said hello dad like I always do, Keeps me warm.

WOW ---what a week! A week with family laughing, playing games, telling stories, sweet moments, tender moments, and moments that just made for amazing memories. i am so blessed to be part of this wonderfully wacky and incredible family. Two families blended into one big crazy "gang".

Time spent with my darling boi.

I gave the receptionist at my general doctor a lighted minnie mouse christmas thing I made her but she didn't realize that it was for her at first but she was so excited and she even showed someone from other doctor's office and took picture of it and my work even made my PA Susan at that office smile. Just goes to show you what a random act of doing something for others can brighten day.....

Puffs plus lotion - I have been using paper towels for three days. Puffs are a huge improvement.

What made you smile today?
 

Had a wonderful seafood lunch with my brother. He had to leave to get home before dark but he sure made my day. Lunch was fabulous with halibut, shrimp and scallops. Coffee.

Snow! That and getting back home after having spent most of the day out running errands with J. Usually my grandson is pretty fun to be around, well behaved but not today no. It was as if he was if he were in some sort of contest to see who in the world would win and earn the title of this year's greatest little monster. It feels so good to finally be home, put my feet up, drop a couple Excedrin and call it a day. Some people look down on my daughter in law for smoking pot but me, if this is something she deals with often, then I'm surprised she's not shooting heroin.

The farmer's market that has the BEST banana walnut bread in the world actually had some today! They are usually sold out, but I got a loaf! And yes, I was grinning like a fool!

A very unexpected but pleasant wish from the folks at the Planet. Thank you all. Made me smile for sure. My neighbours that have been doing all for me especially grocery shopping brought me a vase of gorgeous sunflowers and a HB balloon.

Finding my big black male cat, laying down next to my new peep. His name is jet and jet has take it upon himself to protect the baby. When I first found them in there a few days ago, I thought he was going to eat it. But then I realized, as I watched them that the peep was not afraid, and the mother hen accepted jet being by her baby. This is so different, so sweet, that I just smile every time I catch them together now.

Was driving in the neighborhood yesterday and this caught my attention with a smile:

They’ve started decorating and in a week or he’ll have lots of company..

I’m not doing any decorations but I’ll get some pumpkins for the porch and deck.

Someone else is cleaning out my chest freezer. :)
