Lots today! I got to go to the most fantastic art festival and met loads of lovely people. The weather was great; sunny and breezy. Waze took me the scenic route home and I discovered the most PERFECT Halloween tree ever. It looks exactly like craft stencils and mats when they want a 'spooky' tree. I drove through a wind power turbine "field" and found a recycling plant I didn't know about. I got a quick workout in early this morning and a ton of steps in at the festival. I looked super cute today! I got a 33% discount off a cool print because the artist forgot her phone in the car and didn't have enough cash to break what I had. I had a delightful chat with another artist who does paintings and prints that make my soul happy. She also invited me to her house to look at her work. I worked on a craft project and had play time with Gracie. Most importantly, I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK and the office was closed so there's no chance of anything getting messed up today!

Working in the kitchen with my partner and my best friend/roommate. Both people I absolutely adore and have felt their love and support as I've faced grief head-on recently. Working in the kitchen to make a family meal just made my heart happy.

My Mom made it back to her nursing home today! She has been sprung from the hospital, and they say they have her medications right now. She was pretty sleepy on the transport ride from the hospital to the home, and then she slept for several hours. We suspect they gave her a cocktail of sleeping meds to get her through the trip. But at dinner time she sat up and ate well. I am so relieved she is back where we can visit her.

I had a very good (dare I say kick ass? 🤔) interview for a cardiology position I’ve been lusting after. I’m hoping to get a call with an offer tomorrow.
The other job I was offered has the most laborious on boarding I ever saw in my life. I literally had to have documents notarized 😳 |

Smile Today.
My brother called and is coming into town tomorrow maybe for a couple of days and we can have Xmas together, yay. See I got a call and am having a visitor coming here so to heck with the rest. I said I had no idea who.

My little granddaughters came over for our Christmas today. For the first time there were no toys under the Christmas tree! What they wanted and what we got them were new laptops! They were so happy they squealed! They are getting alot of toys from mom and dad, and Santa, so I didn’t see that they needed them from us too. Sure did put a smile on my face!

Seeing the whole family together having a good time. There were lots of things to smile about, but mostly I remember my 7-year-old niece opening her presents.

Not today, as I've managed to successfully keep myself away from people in general, but yesterday I got two compliments from a teenage cashier on my nail color and my MATH tee.
Then, later in the day, I got a strange look by a middle aged Englishman who told me that I was "visually interesting." He also said he'd never wondered about another person's watermelons before so I suppose he had his own quirks because who wouldn't be interested in what someone was doing with dozens of watermelons??? My first thought would be that they worked with Gallagher. For reference, I had on the MATH tee with a black, white and grey plaid button up unbuttoned over it and with the front ends tied in little knots and a black, nubby jacket on top and red plaid stretchy pants, black socks and my Pride shoes. The pants aren't exactly what I have but mine were a Savers find and likely no longer made. It's close enough to get the visual, though. Basically, a nod to my time in Seattle. Oh, and before that, I was at the hair salon and one of the new stylists I have dubbed Christmas Grimace due to her purple hair and Xmas tree headband...told me that my makeup and the way I did my brows today reminded her of Ariel. I could do a lot worse than a Disney princess. :thumbsup: After work, my day was filled with compliments and fun discussions about my attire and general vibe. It was a very, very good evening! |

Discovering that there WERE Christmas cookies in this house and getting the last two. I was previously sad about missing out on cookies this year.

Met my buddy for lunch yesterday. We use to meet once a week for a meal but haven't done that in several years, due to our very different schedules and the proximity of each of our homes being close to different towns. We talked, laughed, and had a good time catching up.

Yesterday afternoon I took a friend to PT and we saw one snow fort being built and the start of a snow man, I think. It was nice seeing the kids outside having a blast.

Seeing the USPS post person out in the snow delivering mail in the middle of a storm. Yesterday I watched the postal van wobbling up a driveway in the snow, barely making it. Couldn’t tell which worker it was but they were hustling and it made me smile knowing we have one the best postal services in the world. |

Being in the snow with Bella. She was galloping in the snow like she's Rudy the red nose reindeer and I'm pulling the trash cans up the driveway like I'm the LakeSide snowwoman. Cute Tony was chuckling at us having fun in the snow.

Still smiling from last night. The show was wonderful, better than expected. My brother and I were both impressed with that woman. Met her after the show and got personal pictures and autographs and a nice hug LOL.

A HUGE pile of wood chips was delivered today! I will let it sit for a couple months, letting the birds pick through it for any insects, letting it weather down. Come spring I and my garden helper will be loading it up and spreading it out in the Pathways of my garden.
But I was so happy today because this was the first big thing for the garden of 2024! Happy happy! |

Today is my daughter‘s birthday! What an amazing woman she has become! Of all my accomplishments, raising her through really tough times, is my most major one. It was well worth it.
What does she want for her birthday? This is what made me smile… She wants a live alligator. Only her! Lol. |
