NYC Central Park | Bethesda Terrace
https://i.pinimg.com/736x/d5/df/7b/d...aces-lower.jpg
Bethesda Terrace, in Central Park, NYC, is an architectural marvel and one of the first structures built in Central Park. Designed by Architect Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, construction began in 1859, continued through the Civil War, and was finished by 1863. Frederick Law Olmstead is also well known for being the architect who designed Prospect Park, in Chicago, for the 1st World's Fair and is a featured character in the non-fiction account, penned by Erik Larson, Devil In The White City. Back in the early 1980s, when I lived in NYC, I loved spending Saturday afternoons, walking around Central Park. I remember visiting this bridge structure and underground arcade area back in 1982. Back then, Central Park was very different. Lot's of people congregated in the park on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, but I also took a horse carriage ride through out the park and I won't ever forget that day or the weather (it was simply gorgeous) or the many taxi's or the many people who would walk the streets, day or night. Bethesda Terrace is truly a remarkable architectural structure for the time in which is was constructed and a landmark of beauty. |

I fixed my typo's: Olmstead is known for architectural designs in both Central Park in NYC, Prospect Park in Brooklyn and for his role in making structures in the 1st World's Fair, held in Chicago, Illinois back in 1893 (?). |

Herd of Elephants Crossing Road in Thailand
The family of more than 50 jumbos emerged from the jungle and stomped across the highway in Chachoengsao province on April 9. Spectacular footage shows how dozens of locals gathered on either side of the road to watch the placid creatures. Several police officers also arrived to ensure the elephants made it safely to the neighbouring area of jungle. Wildlife rangers had been tracking the elephants through the wilderness during the day then quickly blocked off the road to prevent any accidents. |

So upset 🤬
I am so upset with my bank and the paycheck protection program. I was one of the first to compete an application for my dance studio and it appears the bank made good on larger loans to make money and left smaller businesses like me out in the cold, now I may have to close and my two dance teachers will be on the unemployment line just like me. I am so mad and sad 😞

Life is too short to look back on yesterdays crap. Today is a day to bring things into perspective and know what it is you want and have. At the same time when you worry about what you want there are folks out there would settle for a good meal and a warm bed and maybe a lost loved one back. We have no problems compared to these people so get out there and enjoy what time you have cause it can fly by faster than a blink and looking back with regret is a waste of time. Enjoy what you can now and go after what you want and need without dreaming about it. Times are hard but our minds and thoughts are for us alone so think and ponder and plan. I think you will be glad you did in the long run.

I get a kick out of people who consider themselves funny, entertaining, smart, and overbearing. When actually they are silly, dull, boring and childish. Gives me a good chuckle. These folks should take a good look at themselves.

I am sad to hear that Little Richard one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll has passed away at 87 yrs of age. No cause has been released for his demise.
I have one of the first vinyl LPs he ever did and many others to follow. I love his music still and think he was super talented and gave much to other entertainers like The Stones (their words). He had a list of instant hits and ran the charts for a long time. Rest in peace Richard, noone can touch your music and give it the flair that came from you. |

That time LEGO hosted the world’s smallest Pride parade for children
That time LEGO hosted the world’s smallest Pride parade for children. Adults were required to be accompanied by a child to go to the parade.
By Bil Browning Monday, May 11, 2020 https://lgbtqnation-assets.imgix.net...ess&crop=faces The LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Westchester, New York is displaying a Pride parade in their reproduction of Times Square. Photo: LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester With Pride festivals around the nation canceled or postponed, LGBTQ Nation is bringing the celebration to you with our new series “Flashes of Pride.” We’ll look back at some of our community’s finest moments from the past few years as a reminder that no matter what life throws our way, queer people will fight our way through it and dance when we hit the other side. While the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and riots last year with huge parades and festivals, the toymaker LEGO got in on the action. Brick by brick, they made Pride kid-sized and built the world’s smallest Pride parade. The parade featured two floats with “Pride” and “Love Is Love” themes, an oversized “Stonewall 50” billboard, and a great number of bedazzled mini people dancing in a recreation of Times Square. Adults were required to be accompanied by a child to go to the parade. The event was held at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Westchester, New York. Westchester wasn’t the first LEGOLAND to host a pride in its signature MINILAND build though. Birmingham’s Discovery Center in the UK had its own floats and festive figurines on the street in May of this year, even including a rainbow and heart decorated float featuring miniature versions of the Village People. https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2020/05/...rade-children/ |
Galileo was imprisoned by the church for saying the earth revolved around....
the sun. What we are hearing today, with the stunning backwards, reactionary propaganda of MF45 and his cabal, demonizing Dr. Fauci, other scientists, is really not very much different. It is the church, the cult of trump. He is dragging this country backwards only for his ego, his narcissism. What we are witnessing is pure insanity, a suicidal death cult. *I have to be honest with you Planeteers, anyone I KNOW who is a republican and support this, you are dead to me. Every Democratic President has been handed BIG messes to clean up after the repubs have looted and assailed anything that is good, ethical and moral. I want us ALL to support MF45 and pence to be FREE to not wear masks and hold hands all they want. (without infecting the innocent) Music to my ears if a horrible illness befell thing 1 and thing 2. Hmmm Madam President Nancy Pelosi, in the house! |

short, long and all answers. NO!
