I just realized homoe hasn't been around in months. Does anyone know if she's OK? I have her address somewhere, so I'll send a card to check in, but if anyone has any info, please share if you're able. Thanks!

nhplowboi 01-16-2023 01:37 PM

I mentioned this a month ago to people? or in chat? because I was concerned.

I sent an email to Homo. And as the norm, Homo takes a few days to respond. I'll keep my eye out for an answer.

Thanks for sharing Orema! Each couple in that video, especially the gay couple, were simply wonderful. Thanks for finding that video recording. That is how it has been for us: We met each other during a time in our lives where we had not much except each other and our love and support for each other. And we enjoy our lives together and our mutual children and such. It’s like the universe knew we were each others match and once we connected, we’ve been inseparable since. One day we will get married, but for now it’s enough that we have each other and care for each other. He is my forever and ever.

According to folklore, you get pinched on St. Patrick's Day for not wearing green because green makes you invisible to leprechauns. Leprechauns like to pinch people (because they can!).

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers. He's kind of a badass.

Look him up. Here's the headline:

Wisconsin's Democratic governor guts Republican tax cut, increases school funding for 400 years.

That is simply awesome that Tony Evers did that. Makes me want to move to Wisconsin because soon I will teach K-12 and won't have to worry about budget issues surrounding access to education.

Did ya see where the Orange Cheater filed his earnings since post-presidency as exceeding 1B in earnings? His son-in-law Kushner probably had something to do with that due to Kushner's political ties to members of the Saudi royalty "investing" their money in T----p.

Check out the Washington Post report on that if anybody is interested.

It's been years since any bear activity has been around the house. This morning feeders were down and some carted up into the woods. My biggest problem with that is the feeders are within three or four feet of my front door. :|

Random fact: reindeer eyes turn blue during the winter to help them see better in the low light. They are the only mammal to seasonally change their eyes.

Randomly speaking: All of Santas reindeer are female, Rudolph is butch. Male reindeer have antlers which they grow for most of the summer and shed come winter after the rut. Females grow their antlers starting in fall so that they have them to protect the fawns in spring.

Because it's an overhanded throw, my biceps felt it the next day, but they didn't hurt. I could just tell that something happened. lol

The axes are smaller than what you see in lumberjack competitions and not heavy at all. They had two sizes at the place I went to.

It was super fun. I highly recommend it. Once you sign the waiver and the facilitator walks you through proper technique and the do's and do nots, you can play games or keep score or just go for it. What do you want to bet Putin had something to do with that plane crash? I knew when Putin said, "Oh, don't worry about what you've been doing to me, you're fine, we're all good, just go home" that it wouldn't be long before Prigozhin turned up dead. And I'll bet Putin didn't lose any sleep over all the innocents on that plane who died.

Mine either! It's thinner on top now than everywhere else. My hair stylist says it's the aftereffects of the chemo. I'm hoping it comes back.

I feel the same way! I narrowly escaped the hassle, the extra heartbreak and the expense of a messy divorce. (After 7 relatively happy, even blissful years, she suddenly decided that I was the cause of all her problems because her new therapist talked her into it.) I lost my dogs, cats, aquarium, her family that had practically all but adopted me, all my camping equipment, and some very meaningful mementoes due to her, along with half of everything else. I quit my job and sat in front of the TV all day and all night, smoking and drinking. It was a bad, bad time in my life.

Of course, it all eventually turned out okay. I found someone better who deserved me. But I never got married to anyone, and I'm glad I didn't.

GeorgiaMa'am 10-11-2023 01:54 AM

In my mind, I always think of myself as being about 30 years old. I have felt this way ever since I was about 30, but suddenly one day I turned around and realized I was in my late 50s. I understand that a lot of other people have this realization too, somewhere around their late 40s to early 60s.

But I noticed today that when I am reading y'all's posts, I think of you as being about 30 too, except for those I have met IRL. I don't think of y'all as being younger than me - just the same as me. Of course, I know that most,if not all of us are older than that.

Do any of you share this?

nhplowboi 10-11-2023 06:51 AM

Absolutely! My landing spot is a decade older than yours and feel 40 is where I'm stuck. Weird how that happens. I always laughed when people freaked out at turning a certain age but no one ever talked about refusing to leave a certain age.

Great question, but I don't get this. I remember nhplowboi asking something similar and I just can't wrap my head around it.

I assign ages or generations (Boomer, X, etc) based on posts or my interactions, but that's about as far as I can connect with this.

Different strokes, I guess.
