LOL! Well, I the pot won't call the kettle black. We do have good fans. Those that love or even like the Pirates.....but we have our share of haters. The only player I've ever Booed was Lyle Overbey. ___ In other news, Nate McClouth was given an unconditional release today. If he clears waivers, he's a free agent. |

Egh, I'm in love what can I say? Win or lose, good guys wear black. I'm going to try and catch the Seattle game tomorrow. Those guys are red hot, but we've had a day off and Peavy is starting. We swept them last time so I'm sure they'll be here with guns blazing. Should be exciting. |
Yes! SF finally is playing well overall! 4 games out, behind the Dodgers. GO GIANTS!!!

Word around town, but not confirmed by the Pirates, is they are shopping our CLOSER. They want some bats for him. Agreed, we need a heavy hitter and then some....but please, not the Hammer!

Well, the Giants were looking good- but Tim Lincecum is still in a slump and they started getting sloppy on defense again. ARGH! The Rangers smacked them around good yesterday after they played (and won) against them the day before in a extremely well-played game. Inconsistency is the description I come up with for my team.
I have always felt pablo Sandoval was a very talented player, but get really tired of him acting like a little boy. Grown men (and women) that do that make me nuts. Also, I don't see his hitting as all that consistent, but we need bats. Also, he seems to spend a lot of time every year on the DL. Now, the idiot is in a mess with sexual assualt charges while he was out on the DL post surgery on his hand. And he continues to remain out of shape even though he has been told his job could be in jeapardy (the replacement for him when he was on the DL has been very, very good). The facts/evidence have not been made public, but the woman is 21 (Pablo is 25) and the initial reports are the "he said, she said" kind of thing- and he says they had consensual sex. My gut tells me he didn't take NO for an answer. But, I shouldn't pre-judge either way. Getting ready for the usual BS that "she" is just trying to get a financial settlement- this always seems to happen in these cases and it just pisses me off. I know this happens, but just because one woman may do this, it doesn't mean every woman does. Personally, I think Pablo is more trouble than he is worth as a player. Of course, he got a bunch of money last year when his contract was negotiated. It's obvious Arias can play 3rd well and is a good hitter. He puts his heart into playing- something, Sandoval isn't doing anymore, I think. I say, stop baby sitting Pablo and trade him! Since the 2010 WS win, he has been on the DL more than playing. Anyway- I am worried about Tim Lincecum. The guy is just not getting out of this slump. Both Cain & Vogelsong have been super, so that is good, but Timmy is a mess! |
It is so cool to see some of the teams doing so well so early in the season. I mean who would have thunk the White Sox would be first in their division? Or, the Nationals, who just swept three from the Red Sox. Or, the Reds and Pirates tied for first. Or, the Dodgers. Really the Dodgers? Nice to see the Giants pulling it together too. The Pirates are still amazing me despite their lack of hitting. My Red Sox are in the sub basement again. Cant help but think these guys are not working well with the new manager. Injuries are hurting as well. The line up juggling isnt helping any either. |

It would be great to see a team like the Pirates stay on top and get into the play-offs. And of course, the Giants! The Anels beat the dodgers yesterday... yes! hey, I'm a Giants fan and we are a few games out! But, LA under Magic is getting it together! |

Tonight the FIRST & ONLY perfect game in the SF Giant's 130 year history was pitched by Matt Cain!
The fans still don't want to leave the ball park. |

My latest Yankees photographic purchase.
This photo, taken and printed on October 8 1956, shows Don Larsen pitching during his "Perfect Game" in Game 5 of the World Series versus the Brooklyn Dodgers: http://i926.photobucket.com/albums/a...esgq/19561.jpg A beautiful and evocative image from one of the most famous occasions of Yankee history. |

You know your season is going down the toilet when the Cubs manage to shut you out while making 3 errors. |

I did however love the added touch of the Red Sox fans singing "Sweet Caroline" on the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley. Poor Twinkies......hang in there, it isn't as bad as it looks http://www.google.com/imgres?q=twink...r:1,s:39,i:206 |

Cain was stunned himself that over 130 years of Giant's history and some of the best pitchers in the game, his was the first perfect game in the franchise history. Some did pitch pefect games, but not while pitching as a SF Giant. Gaylord Perry, Juan Marichal, Christy Mathewson, Amos Rusie... and there are more. In fact, the giants (both in NY & SF) have the most Hall of Fame players! |
Roger Clemens verdict: Not guilty on all six counts
After eight weeks, 46 witnesses, two dozing jurors and an estimated $2 million-$3 million spent in taxpayer money, the Roger Clemens trial has finally come to a close.
The verdict: Not guilty on three counts of making false statements, not guilty on two counts of perjury and not guilty on one count of obstruction. The charges stemmed from testimony that Clemens made in February 2008, telling a Congressional committee that he had never taken steroids or HGH. Prosecutors also alleged that Clemens intentionally made false statements that misled investigators. -------------------- |
