Well I brought a couple of them in as a joke, and they ended up wearing them during the scrimmage over their helmets. If you can't quite picture it, imagine two women skating around with toddler boy's cartoon character underwear pulled over their skateboard-style helmets.

(You probably have to understand derby to get this, and if I could post a pic you would see what I mean, but it's still making me laugh!)

I can picture this!

My 7-year-old granddaughter is in a junior roller derby team (team right word?) and nothing makes me smile more than to see all the little girls rolling around on their skates.

She has loved roller derby from the time she was little.

I posted once that she picked her own name: The Regurgitator!

Makes me smile every time to just think of the name:)

Going to an estate sale with my dad today... There's not a lot we can share anymore without it upsetting someone... we are so different, but he's my dad and I love him dearly no matter what. It was nice to find something to connect over today.

Well, much to L's and my surprise, as it turns out, our newest little froggie is a boy...or at least we're pretty sure he is. He's giving Ivan a run for his money in the song department, and although "Maxie" is only about one third (if that much) of Ivan's size, his voice is pretty loud right now. What a little sweetie he is. Here's a pic of him in the vines this morning. :awww::frog:

Smiles....

I'm finding out that it's life's simple pleasures that's making me smile. Even an answer to a quick question.

Finding out that the "homeless" cat we've been feeding actually has a home. His owner approached me today and informed me that his address is a few doors up the block and he spends more time outdoors than in.

On that note, I hope they don't mind shared custody. We've already officially claimed him as our outdoor son.

:)

(And I am relieved now since the winter months are approaching....)

:) :)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I seen a kid today that had to be 10 or younger riding his bike on Rt 9 and was riding with traffic NOT against it

Ppl were blowing the horn at him to get on the shoulder so not to get hit. he never moved and several cars almost got hit head on cuz the cars coming the other way wouldnt budge for the cars trying not to hit the boy

He tired to cross the road in front of me so I stopped traffic going my way just so he could get off this main road and go down another road. Im hoping that he made it home

Listening to little kids squeal at all the pumpkins , at the pumpkin patch. Watching them try to pick up the biggest ones, trying to sit on them, and trying to hold as many of the mini ones! I love watching life thru a child's eyes:)'

The realization that we'll be meeting a lot of folks for first time since having joined dash years ago.

Can't wait for the Reunion next year!

Getting Excited,

The message I received when she got her surprise today

The look on her face and in her eyes when she was able to show me that it indeed was the pink rose plant I had ordered for her

No bothersome phone calls from my family or medical professional so thankful it is Saturday

Now being able to relax and watch the 2003 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

  1. Talking friends into going for a walk this afternoon, assuring them that the rain was just a sun shower, only to have it turn into a raging thunder storm. We were soaked. It was cool.
  2. My daughter coming home from a four hour work shift, telling me about her aching feet and eating dinner #2 with her feet propped up.
  3. The uptight theater lady who talks religion all the time writing "boo" on her forehead in glow in the dark lipstick to show her support for a holiday she doesn't celebrate. But she wrote it the wrong way/wrong direction for folks to read it while looking at her. So I told her to just put another B at the other end of it. Not sure if she'd slug me or laugh. She laughed. Whew.

Plans for Halloween costumes and the thrift store I did today to complete them... I will have an adventurous Indiana Jones and a stunningly beautiful black cat by my witchy side this year.

Hearing that my granddaughter started crawling today... backwards.

Seeing pictures of the same granddaughter and her dad drawing on a pumpkin and then seeing the pictures of the carving. It was all crooked and cute because they followed her drawing (helped a bit by her dad) instead of fixing it to make it look better. I thought that was great. Made me smile.

What made me :)?

This wonderful extended weekend in Dallas with Sleepy!!!!
Yes ... This made me smile!!!!

Thankful for the cherished moments in life!!!

Carved a pumpkin, which, I can't remember ever doing before. Used a sweet little 19 month old's tracing of her hands as the eyes and the tracings of her feet as the smile. Going to bring it to her mom today, as we celebrate the moms birthday. Must say, pretty cute and not bad for my first carving. I was always the one who cleaned it up.

Darn Pinterest !!
