We just got home from seeing Cloud Atlas... I don't recommend it. Looking forward to a couple others however. Skyfall, the Hobbit, Argo are all on the list!

Moopie and I rented Snow White and the Huntsman and Dark Shadows.

I think Dark Shadows bored her a bit - but I thought it was a hoot. Loved Johnny Depp, although he sounded a lot like a pirate.

I absolutely adored this movie:

This one, not so much:

I'm fairly certain that this was written originally as a 102 minute commercial, before they added some catchy phrases and a plethora of lines that were way to easy to take out of context (I usually love this, but not during this movie).

There were so many prominent displays of brand names in this movie, that I was just as disgusted by it as I am by watching cable television programs on cable (I usually wait for 3 seasons of a show to come out before bothering to look for it on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon).

I stopped counting after the first 20 minutes, but during that 20 minutes there were close ups of Costco, Budweiser, Hennessy, Ford, Chevrolet, and a very clear mention of Relaxtheback.com.

I was also pretty disgusted by the blatant sexism, and bigotry masquerading as comedy in this film.

Very disappointing.

The remake, it was enjoyable well at least for me it was.

The remake of "Amityville Horror". It was on last night. It wasn't too bad...for a remake.

We saw Lincoln a while back, and I thought it was wonderful!

Interesting that it was the Republican party (at the time liberal) that was responsible for the 13th admentment passing....

We also saw the Life of Pi...interesting twist at the end.

Goods Deeds

Tyler Perry is a successful and wealthy businessman who has always done what was expected of him......until he meets a single mother who inspires him to live the life he's always wanted.

What a sweet sweet movie.

I love movies about the lives of children and women. I am in the "social service" field and I enjoy when things turn out okay.

Most favorites recently -

Snow Flower and the secret fan, Stars on earth, The song of sparrows, Children of heaven, Beating drum, My name is Khan.

I like movies that are visually stimulating. Therefore, I watch a lot international films. I am a big big big fan of narrative movies - such as the collection made by the writer of Weeping Camel and the Yellow Cave Dog.

And... of course when I am feeling less charismatic and more devilish...
