I got the special from my work deli...
Chicken and veggies on pita with an awesome sauce...pasta salad for a side. It was lunch actually but I picked at it while I worked. Then one of the cooks had me try her bread pudding with coconut marshmallow topping :hangloose: Then there were these tiny cheesecakes and fresh fruit in the break room. So...I did not go hungry today... |
My quesadillas kinda fell apart and I burned mine, but the corn and pepper salsa was really good I ended up wolfing it down anyway, lol.

My facility had a luau party for the residents and employees were invited to join...
So I had pulled pineapple chicken boiled red potatoes, Hawaiian wild rice, salmon, kale salad, and pickled okra. Oh my friggin good. I have enough for lunch tomorrow... |

Fried green tomatoes for the third time in a week. You can only have them for a limited time and I love them so I'm filling up.

I had a big salad with a new dressing that is just a teensy bit too buttermilky for my taste but it's healthier than most in my fridge so it is what it is.

Roasted drumsticks marinated in magic mushroom powder, baked white sweet potato, and a medley of steamed vegetables. Sadie gets the green lima beans because I dislike them.

Grilled, thick cut Pork tenderloin's; a small bed of green salad, fresh sun ripened cherry tomatoes, topped with Caesar dressing and freshly browned bacon bits. And, a generous slice of marbled Maple-Vanilla cake, with vanilla frosting and sweet coconut.

Yesterday I made chili...I think.
I kinda winged it. I've never made chili before but it seemed like a good use of what I had on hand. First I fried up some ground turkey with garlic...added frozen pepper blend and manyyyy spices. (Cumin garlic and onion powders chili powder etc) while that simmered I opened a can of black, pinto and black eyed beans. Added a can of diced tomatoes with chilies with the juice. Diced up jalapeno from the garden. Also some fresh oregano leaves. Later on I added half a bag of frozen corn and okra. I know okra isn't exactly chili fixins but I wanted it. I meant to make rice with it but I got home from hiking and it was dark and I was ravenous. It was quite good. But still not sure it was chili...exactly. |

- shrimp shumai - shrimp wrapped in pork belly - mushrooms with pork filling in black bean sauce - radish cake - coconut tart - sesame balls with red bean paste Also (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival month everybody!)
