Whip It. Watched for about the 10th time a few days back, over coffee, before work. I'm strangely fascinated by roller derby. Which I never get to see live because I always work on Saturday nights. And I just :heartbeat: love :heartbeat: Ellen Page -- and by love I mean I'd like to chain her to a radiator and keep her as a pet. :whip:

Hmmm, before that, I watched a documentary on Dungeons & Dragons fanatics. It was slightly scary and entirely too true to life.

Before that the Harry Potter finale in the theater, which I enjoyed just because it was HP.

And before that "Thor" in the theater -- which was entirely more of a let down that I wanted it to be. Though visually entertaining if you are someone with an appreciation for CG.

Crazy Eights
:koolaid:

It was great, til the end left us hangin'.
It's great n stuff, if you like to be left there in the end.

I was gonna rate it a 4,
but the Ending got it a 3.
:coffee:

casey35 08-06-2011 08:29 PM

the movie i so love

Burliques the movie, it is a bit older not a new release, but if you enjoy music and dance and gorgous outfits , it is a must see. Have to say it made me feel like a girl, loved it had me dancing around the house to the delights of my friend.

Daywalker 08-06-2011 08:45 PM

Stone

has Edward Norton, Milla Jovovich, and Al Pacino in it.
I assumed it would be fantastic because I liked the cast listing.
Not too bad, but slow. I have mixed feelings.

:)

VintageFemme 08-06-2011 10:27 PM

i haven't been to a movie theater in forever [the older i get the creepier i get about sitting on movie theater seats] however... i have just finished watching almost eight consecutive hours of mob week on amc! i just finished watching the godfather part 2 and goodfellas. i watched donnie brasco last night. of the three, i would have to vote donnie brasco as my favourite.

I am definitely going to see the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"....I hear it's pretty good, so we'll see. But there's nothing like the originals.

I LOOOOVE the original movies and it's been way overdue that I NOT have this in my dvd collection, so l just sent away for The Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution Collection Blu-ray: Planet of the Apes / Beneath the Planet of the Apes / Escape from the Planet of the Apes / Conquest of the Planet of the Apes / Battle for the Planet of the Apes

I'm gonna go ape shit once this arrives *badoomp tis** :raspberry:

JoSchmooze 08-14-2011 10:47 AM

Sophie's Choice.....

NJFemmie 08-14-2011 10:54 AM

Netflix streaming ....

Nine Dead = sucked. Melissa Joan Hart needs to stick with Disney movies.

Grumpier Old Men = cute and funny. Was in the mood for something light and this hit the spot.

I want to see Planet of the Apes and the Green Lantern.

JustLovelyJenn 08-14-2011 11:28 AM

Tangled with the kids... again.

QueenofSmirks 08-14-2011 11:31 AM

Doubt, with Meryl Streep (On Demand)
Horrible Bosses (Theatre)

Abigail Crabby 08-14-2011 11:31 AM

Limitless.....

NoahMacchione 08-14-2011 11:46 AM

What did you think of Doubt? I watched it and found it to be very good. Although I am also a huge fan of Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, so I might be biased. I thought it was a well put together film.

PinkieLee 08-15-2011 02:49 PM

Gotta love Redbox's $1 movies! Friday, we rented...

Soul Surfer - I think I cried almost the whole way through the movie!

and Source Code - it was ok

LaneyDoll 08-15-2011 02:56 PM

Final Destination 5. For all FD fans, I have 4 words for you...

BEST MOVIE ENDING EVER!!!

:sparklyheart:

NoahMacchione 08-15-2011 04:39 PM

Just watched Notting Hill and Backdraft. I have seen both of them before and could watch them over and over. Just some basic moviemaking that is not taxing on the brain (when one wants to watch a movie that does not really need to be figured out in any kind of depth).

foxyshaman 08-16-2011 09:34 AM

I watched this BEAUTIFUL FUNNY DELIGHTFUL HEART STRING TUGGING fantastic claymation movie called Mary and Max. It is a story about pen pals on different continents, Mary a young austrailian girl and Max an older (44) new york male with Aspergers.

Four thumbs up!!!

NJFemmie 08-18-2011 05:23 AM

Flushed Away (very cute)

Dean Thoreau 08-18-2011 06:41 AM

amzing movie

This summer I have been having fun with Netflix.....and I must admit I have seen one or two phenomenal movies.

The best of the Best was -

Departures

it is an independent foreign flick with English subtitles....The story line sounds a bit....young musician looses his job and had to find a job and ends up working for a funeral home.

It sounds rather bleh...but it is a movie that will draw you in, you will watch, and you will loose your extensive vocabulary...as the story progresses and silently you are drawn in and at the end of the movie all you are capable of uttering is.....nodding your head,,a soft gentle smile and an inability to express what you have just viewed, experienced and feel. You grab a tissue and wipe a year or two...and you smile.

\I give this 7 out of a 5 star rating. :praying:

NJFemmie 08-18-2011 09:52 AM

Haven't seen them yet, but I just got Hall Pass - which I heard was very funny - and Red Riding Hood.

puddin' 08-18-2011 11:51 AM

"head in the clouds" (good film)
"godsend" (difficult storyline, but worth watchin')
"unstoppable" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477080/) *thumbs up*

Gentle Tiger 08-19-2011 11:06 AM

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Pt. 2 - thought it was good
The Kings Speech (compliment of Netflix) - excellent! I will purchase this.

diamondrose 08-19-2011 11:13 AM

The last movie i watched was Soul Surfer.

ruffryder 08-19-2011 11:36 AM

Planet of the Apes - ok. I would have waited for rental.

Just Go with It - good.
