I mailed all my postcards today!! Forgive the terrible handwriting!

I am going to send Navy a postcard. I will leave it up to you whether or not to send him one.

I grieve this loss. I liked NB. He was polite and caring and a gentleman. Whoever he was in the past, we wont know. He could have been a cad. I just know who he presented himself as now. This is why I chose to send him a postcard. But its up to you if you want to send him one or not.

I am going to address this with Ms Medusa as well, to see if there are any concerns she has with us sending him postcards

Does it ALWAYS mean they were "timed out" under their old screen name or could it just be they made another screen name, which one needs permission for,and they failed to do that?

In my experience, it's not a good thing. Usually, when it's benevolent issue, there's a 'formally known as' type of message under the new screen name. Sometimes it's in the signature but it's usually there if it's a "harmless" situation.

I've been duped before and I'm sure will be again as folks that have been removed from the site tend to weasel their way back in, one way or another. Luckily, they are usually caught pretty quickly. Sometimes I can spot a returning person and sometimes I can't.

I was a member before known as Daisy Chain, I managed to lock myself out of my account with an email change, I did mail admin soon after but didnt get a reply, life took over and time passed but I found myself visiting as a guest so decided to rejoin, switching my old name about seemed like a good idea to keep some continuity. I didnt know I needed permission for this until reading Homoe`s post, my apologies to all. okay my 2 cents.. let's please Refrain from making assumptions. We are not administrators, and truthfully it is not any of our business, I can vouch to the fact that sometimes it really is something minor. The address have already been sent out, I have talked to Navy outside of the site and trust that his participation in this project is sincere. I will be sending the cards I picked for each participant. Cheers!

No one's telling anyone else to or not to swap with Navy. That's up to each person. However, people don't get timed out for no reason, so it's not about 'making assumptions', especially when the reasoning has been shared by the administrators.

Chained Daisy, thank you for your post. It's helpful for folks who may have interacted with you previously to know that you are 'that' person, so I always appreciate it when someone who does come back under a new name, no matter the reason, is transparent about it.

I received Homoe's card today! Loved it!

I am ok with sending NB postcards and plan on staying in touch with him. There are managerial reasons why decisions are made by the admins. But it doesnt/shouldnt affect individual members and their choices to stay in contact.

Just so you know my cards will be going out next week sometime. I'm a little slow but haven't flaked!

This procrastinator ordered her cards today. But I have Amazon prime and they will be here Monday. I will get them out asap.

I am making my postcards and have three more to do. With any luck, I'll finish tomorrow and mail them out on Monday!

I got a card from Bèsame* today - so sweet, and it was exactly the shot in the arm that I needed today. Thanks!
