I've been drinking water and tea for almost a week and I am feeling a BIG difference in alot of ways. I had some of that vegetable juice last night and damn now I remember why I love that stuff. Those have been My drinks of choice for 5 days now exactly and I don't see Myself going back to pop anytime soon (and probably never again). I am going to be going for more walks and will be going tomorrow to get My gym membership fully activated so by this weekend I will be able to begin working out :) Quote:

Hi Matt glad u r back and doing well, makeing a choice to do something and sticking with it is a state of mind that commits anyone to doing what is best for them,u know we are all in this together and will suport eachother in this crazy weight loss choice.
Today is the first day I have fely near human since my back went on the fritz, hope I didnt over do but it was good to do something but deal with the misery of it.I played catch up for the two weeks of laying around on meds..still on them but up and going as each day dawns,I got all the christmas stuff done and over for this year, bought groserys then put them away.I even played with the fur kid for a while then we took a walk,I wanted to work out but didnt want to push it..pool is tonight so I gotta keep it together. As for coffee creamer I use community club creamer its only 10 calories pr teaspoon and 1 carb..I usely only drink two cups in the morning tho every now and again I drink soome in the evenings. Now with soda,I have a can now and then but rarely drink the whole thing, some say they get hungry drinking sodas but it dosent do that to me.The one thing I have to watch is I love hot chocklate especaly before I go to bed,the instant stuff has near 24 carbs a cup so its a now and then thing. |
I meant to post this link earlier, this is a company that makes zero calorie salad dressings. The dressings I've tried (Balsamic, Italian, Caesar) are all really great, I was surprised to see they were zero calories and made with all natural ingredients.
http://www.waldenfarms.com/products/dressings.htmll They also have a number of sweet sauces and syrups. I've not tried those, I detest the flavour of artificial sweeteners and it seems most of those products use splenda. These are carried in my local Stop & Shop market, I'm not sure what their distribution is otherwise. |
Good morning y'all & happy Friday!
Well the other night, D noticed how horribly baggy my jeans were. So, she said let's go to shopping. Ugh, shopping for clothes with me is usually hit or miss. If I try something on and it doesn't fit, I get discouraged and then my attitude gets shot to hell. Well, we started out at JcPenneys. We started looking though the jeans and I picked up my old size.... D snatched them out of my hands and said no. She handed me another size and I stomped off to the dressing room, knowing they weren't gonna fit. Low & behold, they slipped right on! She came back with 2 other brands and they fit perfectly, too! So, long story short, I've officially gone down 2 sizes in my weight loss journey so far :) Sometimes, it's the mini milestones that keep you motivated... yep, mine was a new pair of favorite jeans! |
:cheer: Two sizes down is fantastic! Congratulations!! Quote:

Clothes shopping discouragement... Lordy sista I know that song!!
Two Sizes!!!! :happyjump: :barmartini: Quote:

Congrats, Pinkie! Clothes shopping, especially pants, is so hard for me. I experience the discouragement you spoke of, even when I'm healthier. It's the bane of the pear shaped woman.
Ebon and I did pretty well yesterday. We had more structured meals with more finite proportions. We also took a short walk in the midst of our movie marathon and then worked out for half an hour at the end of our day. I'm proud to say that I ddn't give into the munchies, even though sitting in front of the TV is a trigger for me to start shoveling it in. Eyes on screen, disengage brain is how it usually works for me. I've downed pints....multiple....while watching a show. So, yay for us and yay for everyone else. |
Woohoo Gemme!!!! You can do it!

Having a meal. Roast chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1 cup brussel sprouts. H2O.

Hi all!
I have not posted in here for a bit. I was in GA over Thanksgiving in the boonies where I had no 3G (no Iphone* sniff)* and internet only on my daughter's family computer.
The family does not eat turkey on Thanksgiving. They pretty much only love chicken breasts on the grill:linecook: (good) and ham (not so good). We had ham for Thanksgiving. There was no pumpkin pie-they do not like it (good) and had brownies for desert-which I did not touch (also good). Regardless, I came home with 1.5 pounds regained of the 2 I had just lost. I was really good about my own eating, in spite of their menus but I do know the salt from ham at a couple of meals did not help me much. Damn. I have lost the 1/2 pound and am bound and determined to loose 2 more this week. My body holds onto fat as though I were on an island and there was no food to be had.:theisland: Increasing walking, stairs and exercises to try to compensate. I just refuse to give into my metabolism! Congrats to all that have had successes since I last posted and keep the faith for those that have not-yet-:) Hugs, |
I got a pleasant shock at this morning's weigh in. I have dropped 3 pounds. :)
Then I started to wonder why...because I'm a data geek, and I haven't been doing anything differently....but have had much better weight loss the last two weeks than in previous weeks. I'm eating the same....not working out more... And then it hit me....I'm no longer taking Actos for my diabetes...which my original doctor had warned me (oh so long ago) would make it hard to lose weight. So, in a weird way...improving my diet made me lose a little weight and improve my health enough to get off Actos...and the fringe benefit is that it will be easier to lose weight....and improve my diabetes even further. So....yea! I'm within 10 lbs of my first major goal....and a weight I haven't seen in years. :cheesy: |
For breakfast I had two scrambled eggs with cheese sprinkled over them,oe slice of whole wheat sugar free bread with a very light spread of grape jelly.
For lunch I had a gator poboy...it was really good too, they put lots of tomato amd lettus in it and the gator was cooked just right.u bet I will have anotherr one one of these days. Dinner tonight will be baked chicken and salad. |
Congrats Jo Jo!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
It has been six days since I have had meat and I'm enjoying it! Also, in light of the fact that was brought to my attention, I will no longer say where I shop. I am over getting pm's in regards to my choice of restaurant for lunch/dinner. Have a great day, Zimmeh |
I have lost another 2lbs this week...Five pounds gone since I went to the dentist...
Having dinner tonight with friend's! Have a wonderful day, Zimmeh |
Hello healthy peeps....just checking it to see how everyone is doing. :)
I'm still on track with the eating plan...and still need to do more exercise (sigh)... Today's lunch is a salad without lettuce (since I ran out...oops)...and I'm rapidly deciding I like it better! Ingredients today are:
Yummy!! |
i've been very very bad and gained a few pounds as the weight watcher scale last week told me. (I went on vacation to Turkey and ate and ate.., then came back for Thanksgiving and ate and ate..).
This week the scale said down 3.8 so i've almost lost what I gained. Hopefully by next week I'll have a net loss! |
Hey everyone,
Well I saw an advertisement for PGX weight loss on tv so I went to their website and signed up for their free tools including e-books, weight loss strategies as well as journals and more. I've started to read the Vice Busting Diet e-book and plan on using the site to help kick start My weight loss ~ it worth a try, so why not right? Looks promising so far but I'm going to keep on with what I am doing right now plus soon I will be starting to work out (which I'm pretty excited about). I also re-joined SparkPeople as well cuz I hadn't logged into My other profile in awhile so I made a new one and will be using that as well ............ whatever it takes to kick start this weight loss and gets things going is what I am going to do :) I hope everyone is keeping on with their weight loss, one day at a time! |
Good Morning Everyone,
I attempted to eat solid food again lastnight, it was a peanut butter sandwich. To my dismay, my mouth started hurting again and now I will be in the dentist's chair on Thursday. My weight loss is going to continue until the wounds in my mouth heal. Have a great day, Zimmeh |

Good morning happy & healthy peeps!
Well, it seems like we are all still moving forward on this healthy living journey... and that's a great thing! Don't forget, just because you might have a bad day, doesn't mean you blow this whole journey. Each day is a new chance to begin anew... so don't give up! **yep, that's a lil' pep talk for myself, too** I've been doing pretty good, eating healtier & staying within my points range. On the days when I might not track my food, I do my best to pick healthier options... whether it's at home or at a restaurant. My mom & I went to Galveston this past weekend. Some of the food choices might have been the best, but we both managed to do ok.... we split most of our entrees when we ate out (mexican food for lunch and broiled seafood for dinner ~ the portions are always too big for one. Hey, even saved us a lil' money :) I believe my lil' momma walked my legs off this weekend... we walked at least 5 miles during our trip! Anyway, I just wanted to check in and hold myself accountable. Meals planned for today... Breakfast: Raisin bran cereal with 2% milk a banana coffee with a splash of eggnog creamer (yummy) Lunch: a grilled chicken spinach salad with light raspberry vineagarette dressing Snacks: yogurt and/or fruit Dinner: No clue yet... maybe soup & a salad Have a great day y'all :) |
Hmmmm...okay so I just got back from my WW meeting. I missed last week. I do that, I miss things sometimes. But I know my body, and how to count. I re-learnt how to count. I know shocking that I forgot and whatnot... I blame my red tail... I could say my blonde hair... but I really hate blonde jokes, like really hate them. Ending derail...
In my absence they changed the WW points AGAIN. So I went from 29 pts, to 26 pts/day. Which is not such a bad thing... at all. But:glasses: I don't see where I said they could change things in my absence. :hamactor: Anyway, down another 2 lbs. Which makes me quite happy. I am now 6 away from my Jan 6 goal. If I keep this up I will probably beat my deadline. However, I also may have just jinxed myself. I do believe getting knocked down three points will have an affect on my weight loss schedule. Is it cheating if you don't add your exercise points in?? I don't think so. But that would be a rule... and well sometimes Foxes just don't take to rules very well. I have only heard that about myself once... possibly twice. But certainly no more than that. I want to share my super yummy soup recipe with you... 1 broth thingy - I use vege 2 large sour apples 1 big butternut squash 3 cups of carrots 3 celery sticks 1 large onion 4 garlic cloves (oh yeah baby keep away the colds) 1 small head of cauliflower (cause I had to use it and i hate it raw) 1 yellow bell pepper 1 orange bell pepper (I hate green peppers so they won't be in my soups!!) 1/2 cup lentils 1 super large jalapeno 1 tablespoon curry 1 tsp tumeric 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp lemon pepper I bake the squash with 1 tbsp of olive oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika (yup I like this little spice, its red) and a sprinkle of cloves. Bake until tender... Toss it all into the slow cooker and voila... yummy filling soup. I like to puree it.. but some like their soup chunky. I don't judge... you can have it that way if you need to... Ending book....now |
