swept the kitchen, cleaned my bathroom, did laundry, updated my resume for an internal position at work...just need to mow the front yard but it is so freakin hot outside...thank goodness for my son who mowed the back and side yard already :)

Daktari 08-09-2014 05:13 PM

An extended uke practice session. Played As Time Goes By so many times I lost count. Interspersed a handful of other songs I'm currently knocking-into-shape and/or polishing throughout to keep it interesting and I had a rare ole time.
Ukein' brings me so much joy.

QueenofSmirks 08-09-2014 05:41 PM

I'm working on my final paper, which always causes ridiculous amounts of stress (I get to do this every 8 weeks...yay me!). I am somewhat proud of myself though - I am almost finished, and I'm 28 hours away from the deadline. That almost NEVER happens! :)

Trev 08-09-2014 06:26 PM

Worked an 11 hour shift today. That was plenty, thanks

WingsOnFire 08-09-2014 07:47 PM

I worked 5 hours of overtime.. Then I came home and worked on cleaning up the livingroom, diningroom and vacuumed the apartment.. time to relax

Sweet Bliss 08-19-2014 09:27 AM

Well... could someone help with a bicycle issue? Can't locate local source of chain cleaner or lube ... Omg... my kindle changed lube into "puberty " Bwahhahaha! !!!

Sorry... lol... anyhoo, can someone recommend a decent substitute? ? I have olive, sunflower oil. Coconut oil. Thought I had navel jelly but used it all on another project.

Turpentine, vinegar, Dawn, oven cleaner .... have not worked on a bike for four decades.
:jester:
Ya I know, but I need the cardio exercise.

I have already removed the fenders, cleaned, applied rust stop, and fresh coat of paint. Need to paint where I applied rust stop to frame. It's a girls bike, perfect height for me. :hangloose: There used to be a baby carrier on the back, BUT I took off the seat and will cut a wood platform to attach to the supports so I can put a pretty basket on the back. Gonna look so cute!! :cheer:

I love fixing stuff.

Chad 08-19-2014 05:41 PM

ProfPacker 08-19-2014 08:00 PM

Did the work I set out to do.... hung out at pool form last days of summer pool fun and worked out. Feel good

willow 08-20-2014 12:32 PM

Washed the net curtains and cleaned the windows inside and out. How much lighter is it in here now!?

Cleaned skirting boards, doors and other paintwork.

Sorted through a pile of 'stuff' on the shelf above the telly. I found 5 gift cards.

Defrosted the freezer. I put all the stuff into freezer bags then attacked the ice with a hair drier and a knife. The trick is not to stick the knife through anything metal because that leads to very frizzy hair. Not that I've done that. Just a guess :)

Rehung the net curtains while still wet.

Took a lovely relaxing bubble bath.

Went out for a very delicious lunch!

Delivered the packages left in my porch that were not for me :|

Pegged out a load of washing.

Mowed the front and back lawns. Weeded the driveway and flagged areas and swept up.

Poured myself a Baileys over ice. *clink*

Chain cleaner?...take it off and soak it in gas/petrol, scrub with an old toothbrush.
Then put it back on and spray with silicone lubricant

Its been a heart wrenching emotional day...but my diversion in between, I made pickles! Actually, I had started the pickles before everything happened. :)

willow 08-21-2014 07:05 AM

Put my summer clothes into their pretty plastic boxes for storage in the attic.

Put said boxes into the attic right away! No sitting there just in case the weather picks up again. Until mid winter.

cricket26 08-23-2014 09:44 AM

Personal peace in doing something I've found difficult for the last two and half years.

Sweet Bliss 08-24-2014 07:16 AM

Fed critters, let dog out, girlie rituals, made coffee in French press, washed dinner dishes, fetched Sunday paper, washed Kitty bowls, dog bowl, started laundry, will go for morning walk in a bit. Then Pedicure ritual later.

Have oodles to get done to be ready for next week. Ta ta! :happyjump:

Sweet Bliss 08-28-2014 11:30 AM

This is a multiple day post.

Been painting in the kitchen. Just doing the insides of the cupboards. Did the walls already. The outsides of cabinets will have to wait until I recover from this project.

Five done. Five more to go. Then the drawers. Eek. Seven not counting the two hidden drawers and secret drawer in sink area. Didn't think it would take so long. Was a WE project in the beginning. But true to form she has bailed. Only pausing from candy crush long enough to complain about the mess. What a surprise you say? Not really. Same bs new day.

Anyone interested in a Femme that can cook and remodel? No? Didn't think so. :|

Let's see... do I care? Not really. I've hung up my pearls Gentlemen. Not pulling them out again. Feels like weepy Wednesday. Maybe some Katy Perry can fix that. :cheer:

Chad 08-28-2014 05:54 PM

Okie doki ... swept mopped kitchen floor. Dishes, w/d/pawy, fed fur babies, cleaned litter boxes, cleared up messy roomie area on front porch, checked on little house, pulled broken limbs off yard to curb, repeatedly open /closed door for cats, took big dog for walk, made bed put laundry away, put out paint to begin painting inside of cupboards AGAIN. Roomie didn't like beautiful pale blue, now she wants teal. So two more days worth of painting.
:pacman:
I need to start charging for my work.

Yep. Hope to start my projects today. :readfineprint:

Passed on a little experience, strength and hope to a newcomer.
Managed to keep the social skill intact

Went to brunch, and soon to be headed to the train.

Weeee

Jesse 09-01-2014 10:23 PM

I did some cleaning around the house, and 3 loads of laundry. I dehydrated 8 trays of organic baby spinach and then made spinach powder from that for green smoothies. I also turned and flipped my mattress and put clean sheets on the bed, and cleaned all of the ceiling fans.

Sweet Bliss 09-03-2014 12:07 PM

Well my neighbor Fred gave me two wooden umbrellas. They looked pretty rough so I removed the fabric, washed it, and painted the wooden umbrellas both bright white. Looking really sharp now. One of them is broken but an easy fix. Think I will put a set of solar Xmas lights on each umbrella. Would be sooooo cute!!

Found the mystery glass table tops. Put one in the macrame hanger ala 1969... looks so bohemian.

As soon as I cool off I'll put the umbrellas back together. They are a very simple design. Maybe some day I will attempt to make one.

Getting some smaller projects done today. Need a nap soon.:byebye:

Jesse 09-03-2014 04:20 PM

This morning I did a marathon phone conversation with my best friend, which I really needed. Later, I bought groceries then came home and watched 3 video lectures and took a quiz. This may be all that this day gets out of me.
