Glad to read that you and the Rooster had fun today! Tell Scoote happy birthday from me in case I don't get a chance to stop by tomorrow and thanks!!! Does Scoote still have strep throat? Hope she gets to feeling better and soon!

Night,

I'm a little sunburned and yawning...a fun day at the field trip, but I'm tired. Who knew that keeping track of 7 teenagers in a crowd of hundreds and hundreds of school kids could be so tiring?

An interesting twist...the last Civil War reenactment I went to was in NY state...and suffice to say that the FL version had a different perspective. They did a really good job...very educational and the kids (and I) learned a lot.

Think we're all tired from a long week though...came home with the Rooster and discovered that the Prince had fallen asleep. Feel like I could doze off myself, but I'll sit up and wait for my sweetie to get home. She's not feeling good at all, and Friday is always a long day for her. Tomorrow's her birthday (make sure you stop in on her birthday thread :) )....and I'm not sure what we're doing yet...other than me baking a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. :eating:

So where's the cake I'm waiting for chocolate cake with buttercream frosting on it yum...hope you all are having a nice day and its freezing up here in the NJ but gotta get out and get bananas for breakie tomorrow so please send some warmth up this way..lol

The birthday day...so far...went to the flea market and found some fun goodies, ate some yummy Mexican food, went to the beach....and now the cake is in the oven, and the frosting is being made. I'm already in trouble (forgot to offer her the bowl to lick  )....but I'll be sure to give her the frosting bowl :)

Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday :rrose:

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on....and I think we need waffles... :eating:

http://www.kfc.com/tips/images/waffles.jpg

I had one of those "can't sleep" nights last night...so I'm running on just 3 hours worth....yyaawwwnnnn.

The list for today....laundry, clean house (with the boys' help), pull out the Christmas decorations, buy a tree, and get started with the holiday spirit. :)

:gimmehug: Hope you all have a great day!

:love1: Love you baby.... :lips:

Zimmeh 12-05-2010 10:03 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you Jo Jo and Morningstar for breakfast! I am still full from dinner lastnight. After the parade ended, we went to an Italian restaurant and had dinner. The parade was cute and my four year old niece was exhausted after walking the three mile route with my mom.

Have a good day,

Zimmy

wow the waffles look good compared to my bowl of cereal I had this morning. Looks like Christmas is coming alive in your house Jo..that is good. Today's list of things are look at patterns to sew, some laundry if I feel like doing it huh?? It depends and just relaxing for the rest of the day...have a great day!!

Zimmeh 12-05-2010 03:39 PM

I'm making homemade pumpkin bread for dessert!

JustJo 12-06-2010 07:02 AM

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Extra coffee needed this morning...and I confess I'm eating leftover cake for breakfast....got a massive 5 hours of sleep last night, which was at least better than the previous night's 3 :seeingstars:

I managed to get some of the outside lights up last night, but honestly I'm not feeling the holidays at all. Rapidly getting to "I really don't care" on them, as a matter of fact. It's hard to have the holiday spirit by myself.

Anyway...thanks Zimmy, as it turns out Scoote didn't have strep throat....just a sore throat and a cough to go along with her perpetually painful back. It's impacting all of her joints too, and really not sure what it is except that it makes her miserable and in pain virtually all of the time. I harassed her enough that she finally went to a doctor, who at least gave her pain pills and muscle relaxers, but her insurance denied her getting an MRI to see what's going on with her back. They can see the herniated disc on the x-ray, but beyond that...who knows? She'll be on my insurance come January 1, and hopefully we'll get her some better medical care as a result.

Glad you had fun at the parade Zimmy (and your new hairdo looks adorable by the way! :) ) I've decided "screw the grey hair" and I'm going to go get it dyed again today. I'm feeling ugly and undesirable enough at the moment without having grey hair to make me feel old too!

I have a bit of catching up to do for work today, but fortunately no conference calls...so maybe I'll actually get to do that. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :gimmehug:

lipstixgal 12-06-2010 11:26 AM

Brrr Its cold this morning!! and afternoon staying in side all day today with the dogs and under the covers!! Hope all are staying warm too. JO too bad about the sleep schedule maybe some lunesta is in order?? Or ambien if you are really having a hard time..it helps believe me I take it and yes I sleep...have a great day everyone...

Zimmeh 12-06-2010 03:26 PM

((((Jo Jo)))),

Hugs my friend! I get all blah around Christmas more than Thanksgiving. I had to cut my hair, it was getting to long. What color are going to get your hair dyed? Have you looked into getting your hair highlighted? My gets blinde highlights and you can barely see her grey hair. If you decide to do that, have your stylist use a cap instead of foils. The cap gives you a better control of where the highlights go.

Hugs!!

Zimmy

Jo, I feel for you! I have sleep problems as well. I have no trouble falling asleep but get woken up by pain three or four hours later. I hope you get some much deserved rest tonight!!!

It is so cold outside!!! I just came in from a walk, I got up the street to the main road and almost turned back when the artic blast hit me in the face and took my breathe away. So much for living in the Sunny South! Yeah right! It will only get to 38 tomorrow and still we will have the wind!

I could use a refill on my hot chocolate now!! Who else will join me? Have a great day everyone!!!

katsarecool 12-07-2010 04:20 PM

Too cold for me!!! Here in the deep South we just do not have the facilities or the tools to handle that level of cold. Homes are not built around here to withstand those temps either. So when we get cold we really are cold!!! Too! Going down to 21 degrees tonight with the wind chill factor it will be in the single digits!

Good Morning lovely Kitchen Patrons,

Firstly, holy CRAP it is cold out there. Well truly it would not be so bad, it is the wind that is bringing the temps right down.. and as I told the store clerk last evening.. it has only just begun... however, for our area we are getting a late start into the season.. of course in grand tradition that will just mean our season will last longer into the New Year.. no early Spring here.. I surmise. laughs.

I hope everyone has had a peaceful start to the week... and of course today is that National Holiday we have all come to know and love... the National Holiday of Humpage... so if nothing else we are half way through the week.. and those that can partake of the holiday name.. well.. there you go.. grins.

Thank you all for the well wishes.. everything is good here.. smiles.

This morning I was thinking homemade french toast, eggs any way we want them, sausage links and patties, some fresh fruit, cereal for those who want something quick.. and of course an endless supply of :tea: and :bringcoffee:
would get us through the day.

Waves to Jo, scoote, Zimmy, morning, kats, Matthew.. I hope all have a great day.

As Always,
Jake

Zimmeh 12-08-2010 06:32 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

Have fun today!

hmmm Jakes breakfast sounds very good..... :)
here is a pic I took last week .. a day and half after the snow storm hit buffalo and left all them people stuck on Part of I90 and 290 in buffalo ..
well this pic I was heading west on I90 .. the roads were all clear.. to go pick up a load.. this was around 4?? 430pm it was sunny all day.. but this was the sun setting behind the next wave of snow storm clouds coming in..

:bringcoffee: Good morning everyone :)

Thank you for breakfast Jake..it sounds yummy! :eating: And drive safe on the roads up there morningstar. The snow is beautiful, but the ice....yikes! Zimmy...moving back north? Brrrrr....too cold for me. I'm looking forward to a winter sans snow shovel. :giggle:

Scoote is still sick....but I finally got a decent night's sleep...so at least one of us is feeling a little better. Still not too "Christmasey" around here, but we're getting there. Scoote brought Rooster some reindeer antlers on a headband and, being my son, he gleefully wore them around the house all evening. At one point he tried to adjust the angle, broke one off and (pretend) sobbed "I'm a bad reindeer." A little extra-strength glue stick and he was all put back together again though. :)

No leftovers last night kats...so you'll just have to come to dinner and elbow your way to the mashed potatoes like the rest of us. :) And Matthew...what can I say but :cold:

:gimmehug: Hope you all have a good day...I'm off to prep for conference calls, and tell my boss I'm almost ready for a new project.

:lips: baby...don't work too hard...make those lazy buggers do the lifting.
