Great. It's so nice to be home. The city feels like home; familiar, warm and welcoming, connected. So glad I didn't postpone this visit. I want to retire here, but I dont' know how I'd handle the snow. I'll see how I feel about being home when it's time to leave, but right now I'm lovin' this.

Good and overwhelmed in a good way.
I start a new job next week that will be rolled in in addition to the work I already do. Plus balancing family/life. It's all good and all stuff I love but more on the ol' plate to figure out and schedule in! Feeling spread thin. Feeling thankful for the opportunities that come with the new job. |

Superb! It's a gorgeous day (blue skies, not too hot) and the boss just said he's letting us leave early since it's a holiday weekend. Yesssss.

This morning I kind of felt like I was getting sick/fighting a cold. I have this old trick where when I feel like that I stop and write thank you cards to people in my life and put them in the mail. It almost always makes me feel better and it did today. Not sure the science behind it. |

When did waking up with bags under my eyes become the norm??? They go away...but still...they're there. Even if I sleep wicked good. Which I have been lately. Sheesh |
I feel pretty good! Being in the pool a couple hours, exercising, then a warm shower & to bed at 1000pm....I always sleep so much better!!

Day whatever of feeling like doo-doo! Making myself get out of bed today and trying to get all of my school work caught up for this week.
Hopefully today there will be a fair amount of audiobooks, bath time, and cuddling with the best fuzzy nurse in the world. |

I feel good. The weather's great outside and I've got old CSI episodes playing in the background. My belly's full, I have shelter and clothes on my back and I'm blessed enough to work for a company that offers paid holidays. What could be better?

Like I had the best weekend ever! Included events such as: a night playing with friends in an arcade that was deserted except for us- we totally took it over and had much fun, a motorcycle ride to the county fair where I was volunteered to judge a children's cooking competition, witnessed a Shania Twain impersonator who was really good, I had my honey take my picture with a dude dressed up like Elvis- but he wasn't an Elvis impersonator so he didn't think my photo request was funny-- but we did it anyway (I'm smiling- he is not)- followed by a demolition derby- my first of such things- and it was surprisingly satisfying. Then a late night motorcycle ride home that was chilly but nice. Today was a trip out to the mountains and an accidental stumble on a cool new mom-and-pop restaurant that is a total do again.
Feeling satisfied and happy and like I'm sad the weekend is over!!!!! |
Overwrought..
I came to work today to find a resident I liked a lot had passed in the night...now my other lady just passed. I've been here almost 5 months and it amazes me the people who come out of the woodwork when death is near. Part of me just wants to scream at them. Why weren't you here when she was crying for you every night at bedtime...especially when you live in the same fucking town as the facility. Far as I'm concerned my sympathies go solely to the departed. They were sweet, lovely ladies. I'm better off for having known them. |
I'm tired. It's been a loooonnnng day.
