Most kind of you m'dear...I'm still guzzling tea and feeling decidedly gippy (Brit speak for rather nauseous). I hope you have a marvellous Friday. |

i would come out...but i have a history of letting the chips fall where they may...i also like to be really offhand about it and refer to it casually with an air of having expected people to already know. People who would not normally be all that cool about it find themselves behaving as if they were cool about it just because i so totally seem to assume they will...can be funny esp. in the hotbed of religious right republicanism in which i live Quote:
yes you are the only perv in here.:flasher: |
Afternoon!
Stopping in to see if anyone else like to still perculate their coffee? Getting the why do you use that ancient thing? Also, wishing all a great day! |

WEll, good afternoon to all the kitchen dwellers!! had that lousy internship site again. all I did was look over documents that were previously scanned int the computer in patient's files and make sure that they were there, HOW BORING!! I think I am going to complain about this site to the school. I need to be able to do vitals and such which is what I learned!! Not a happy camper at all tonigh and dead tired!! My eyes are bleary from looking into that screen all day. I hate being a medical assistant for sure. Nursing school here I come!! |
Good Afternoon AtLast,
My old roommate in Orlando still has one and I had to make coffee in it one day and I liked it. Hope you are having a good Friday, Zimmy Quote:

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I had to take my youngest niece to school this morning and came back home around noon. I finally had my first cup of coffee around that time. I am thinking another cup is in order to keep me awake. Hope you all are having a good day, Zimmy |
Good Afternoon Incubus,
Try eating some crackers. That will help the nausea. Get to feeling better!! Zimmy Quote:

I'm bringing coffee in on Monday morning with me I don't care what that lady says!! Just waiting fo the pizza to cool off and putting on my short pants to cool off!! What is everybody else doing tonight?? Any plans? My eyes feel like this:glasses:with my glasses on!!

drip coffee is considered an inferior method- next to the french press coffee connossieurs like percolators best...it's not ancient, it's classic! |

Good evening everyone...soooooo glad it's Friday. I'm pooped...but luckily it's cooling off so I don't mind making dinner. The Rooster requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli. (He loves broccoli...seriously). :eating: Dessert? Hmmmmm....any requests? I know my sweetie would vote for something chocolate for sure... Welcome AtLast :rrose: ....your percolator question made me smile. Way back about 100 years ago I was bartending at a tiny, rough little bar in the middle of Wyoming. Lots of ranchers, some miners....tough place. I'd start work about 5 p.m. and first thing I did was to put an ancient percolator on, no matter the weather. Seems a couple of the old ranchers had land spread all over the place...and they'd stop at the bar on the way to do their last drive around before heading home. Several would order "a cup, a cow and a calf." :cigar2: The cup....percolated coffee, so strong you poured it out and cut it off. The cow...a fifth of whatever they drank (usually Jack Daniels). The calf...a pint of the same...that was for the drive home. Yea...they were some tough guys...and I'd hate to see their livers. |
Hi Everyone, TGIF! I am just drained. It has been a week. I hope everyone is doing well. It feels like a sauna here. (w) All of my flowers are drooping. And now we have water restrictions. No more watering the lawn, or flowers...crap. |

I hope your placement improves and becomes more interesting for you soon. Quote:

Welcome to the thread Andrew!!! I can Fed Ex you some iced coffee if you like or some sweet iced tea?
Our heatwave here in Florida has kicked back up and the heat is getting unbearable, even for me.... Anyone have any suggestions on how to take out an itch from a sunburn? It is on my back, just below my shoulders, and I cannot reach it.. Have a good night everyone, I am off to La La Land... Zimmy |
Heya Jo Jo,
I still have some homemade brownies and coffee ice cream if you would like some?? I made the brownies with an extra egg, so they are like cake brownies and very addicting, hehe...Have you ever heard of something called Chewy Cake? My stepdad's grandma always makes it, and she finally gave me the recipe. My roommate nearly took the whole Tupperware container to work with her.... Hope you are having a good night and keeping cool, Zimmy Quote:

Good Evening/Early Morning Incubus,
Your welcome...I would say like a regular cracker, no cream in it. We call them Saltine crackers over here or see if you can find some Soda crackers. They are plain so they won't hurt your stomach. When was I sick in April of last year, the only thing I could eat was oyster crackers, water and oatmeal cereal. Good to read that you are feeling a little bit better, Zimmy Quote:

Good day Kitcheneers, I hope everyone has fun plans for their weekend. Today's plan here involve a friends birthday celebration, Sparkle weekend on Canal Street in Manchester http://www.sparkle.org.uk/ and curry at Akbar's. All in all it should be a marvellous day. *leaves the large pot of porridge bubbling gently for those that would care to partake.* |
