Today I did two hours on the stairmaster. That was cool because I've never done it that long. In fact, I was surprised it let me! I did it at a slow pace ranging from Level 1 to Level 7 (I did the bell shaped program). So it ranged from 24 steps per minute at Level 1, super slow, to Level 7, 68 steps per minute (still not too fast but tiring). I really enjoyed it a lot!

Way to go, cricket! Given your initial puppy challenges, I'm glad you are sticking with it. It sounds like you really enjoy the program. I haven't watched the videos you posted yet but I think I'll start tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been there and done that, ice and rest help a lot, take care.

Yesterday was the first day in two weeks I was able to do all the exercises I have been doing in one session, about an hour and a half. It was rowing, biking both three miles. Working with free weights doing four different things, the thigh master for an 80 count then a few things on my bow flex. I wasn't in a rush but wasn't lagging any either, both my warm up and cool down were good and best of all no blood sugar crashes .
Today I wanted to work with the stuff on the patio that isn't even near as hard for me as the rowing a d biking, things started out good so as I was shooting hoops I got a spazz from hell on the right side of my back that kept on that seemed like forever. I did stretching exercises for a while and got to ease up some, I finished on the bow flex then found an ice bag to put on my back. At the moment it feels like pressure with burning but is getting better, keeping ice on it helps a lot, tomorrow I will do more stretching then some light exercises that won't be a big issue. If it isn't better in a day or two I will go see my chiro for a readjustment.

Swimming! You put the kick board under your feet and go like mad with your arms, serious cardio with just upper body. :cheesy:

Solved, I hope your ankle gets better soon..

My workouts have been limited as of late. I hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago. Well, more like aggravated an old injury. But it's pretty bad this time. I have an appointment with an orthopedic this coming Thursday.

I did run my first 5k of the year yesterday. Not my faster ever, but I wasn't unhappy with it either. Plus it was really a hot, humid day.

day 18 done!

For balance i really need to mute the tv...yes i am distracted by her...:praying:

Karysma 07-26-2015 11:55 PM

I am relatively new to exercise. I am mostly concerned about getting injured at work so I am going to have to pick it up. I am also starting to work on some cardio because.. well.. I want to be able to breathe going up stairs! lol!

So, right now I am doing the following:
Daily couch to 5K exercises - though I am already trailing on the jogging minutes.. lol!
15 min on the bike
A 30 day core challenge.

So far I am at the end of week 2 - which has to be a record for me. So yay!

Gentle Tiger 07-27-2015 12:34 AM

Hi Everyone. It has been a while since I have posted here. I got back to walking. I try to walk at least 5 miles a day. Some days are easier than others. Doing step tacking with friends has definitely helped. Using Fitbit and Argus. It's good for those who, unlike myself *cough* are competitive. Helps keep me motivated when I really don't feel like doing anything.

Looks like I'm going to be laying low for a little while. Well, as much as I ever do.

I have a SLAP lesion in my right shoulder. Doc wants me doing PT 2-3x a week for the next month. Said running is okay, but no weights, swimming, golf...

Kind of bummed. But need to take care of it if I want to (hopefully) avoid surgery.

8 more days...i am counting down as i am ready to be done :praying:

Gemme 07-30-2015 07:17 PM

The foot is getting better so I worked out yesterday morning.

E21, random program, level 4
Stats: 251 cal, 1.73 mi, 30:00 min

I did work the lower body but was very conscious of how much weight I used and how I felt during all parts of the motion. Light abs and stretching finished my workout.

DapperButch 07-30-2015 07:43 PM

Mr. Potato and I walked to the yogurt shop. :dogwalking:

Then I tied his ass to a no parking sign and went in.

The owner came out and gave him some yogurt.

Then we went home. :dogwalking:

The end.

Had to look that one up. Looks like it would hurt and be hella inconvenient. Bummer, get better.

Welp. Two days ago I did the eliptical for 40 minutes while Mr. Potato was beside me on his personal treadmill for 18 minutes. :dog:

Does that count? It's a little sumthin'

Of course it counts! Now just do that everyday. :cheesy:

I'm still doing my river walk/ride everyday and I'm up to over 2 hours aday although I mix it up and it's not all strenuous.

For my walk phase I've been listening to audiio books while I get caught up on a subject, so I think that counts as more like wandering.

There are however, this time of year, big wild turkeys, eagles, and beavers.

The turkeys were a bit intimidating at first as they like to stand sentry on either side of a bridge I use and I had never encountered them before. We now have a 17 foot rule. I walk slowly and quietly around them and they maintain this weird 17 foot distance. I speed up, they speed up, I slow down, they slow down. It works to keep the peace.

:turkeyday: <<< This will have to do.

Karysma 07-31-2015 08:22 AM

*groan*

Ouch.

But at least I did it.

Went for a short walk. Then went on youtube and found some good workouts made specifically for people who are obese. I did 45 mins straight of the workout videos and I feel great. Felt so good to feel the burn. Hoping to increase my level of exercise as I want to lose and build muscle at the same time.

cricket26 07-31-2015 06:35 PM

day 23 done!

I finally vacuumed the floor before this workout...because an added perk of yoga is noticing how dusty your hardwood floors are :praying:

Karysma 08-01-2015 11:43 AM

I have to say... Yesterday I was so unhappy with my exercise.. and in general. I barely made it to 2.5-3min jogging at a time.. and I had gained about 0.75 of a lb over the week. I was bummed!

Today I seem to have broken through a wall. I found that I was feeling good at the 3 min jog marker and was able to make it to almost 8 minutes before the burn got me. I was amazed! It wasn't even the shortness of breath that was getting me. The biking seems to be helping in that regard. I am glad I added it!

I guess that the weight gain was some muscle??

Yay!

<-- proud of me!

Gemme 08-01-2015 05:11 PM

I cleaned a LOT today. Sweeping is good for the obliques and your core if you do it right.

~SweetCheeks~ 08-01-2015 06:27 PM

Loving the You tube videos I found and I am doing them right along with the trainers. twice a day and I am feeling so good after!

nycfem 08-01-2015 06:44 PM

I just caught up on the thread. I have been to the gym twice since I last posted but I need to not procrastinate in posting my exercise so I don't forget the specifics since many of us are all about the specifics :glasses:. I did an hour plus on the stair master both times and then about 15 minutes of floor exercises: stretching, yoga, abs, that kinda thang. Gonna end this with a cricket touch: :praying:

Gemme 08-01-2015 06:53 PM

Yoga always sounds dirty to me but not nearly as fun as dirty things should be.

Downward dog, anyone?
