30 minutes on the Stair Master and 1 combined hour of weight lifting, floor exercises, and stretching
I seem to have slowly shifted from the Arc Trainer to the Stair Master :| |
I did the same routine as yesterday. :rrose:

I'm glad it's warming up here in Denver, it usually means I can up my morning run mileage! I was able to get in 5 miles this morning before class. However, I also plan on taking advantage of the awesome late season snowfall we've been getting in the mountains to do some snowboarding this weekend!:hangloose:

So, I decided to out my swimming prowess after a month of not swimming, one week before surgery and three weeks post. I am really surprised that I had the stamina to swim for an hour. I actually noticed a difference in my breathing since the sinus surgery. I now realize that I used to gasp a little when I swam

Just got back from a ride around Prospect Park,
then down that long straight bike path along Prospect Park West from Grand Army Plaza to 15th Street, then up and down the side streets between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West till I worked my way back to Grand Army Plaza, then zig-zagging down the avenues and streets back to my apartment building. Bike riding sober is a new experience for me. It's still beautiful. I don't have as many flashbacks or streaks of emotion moving through me. The air seems both louder and more quiet. |
Tabata yesterday. Tabata plus HI-IT on the recumbent today.
|
I walked around the local city pond twice.
|
I walked from one end of a WalMart Supercenter to the other and then back again. I think it was a football field long.
Felt like it anyway. :football: |
Gym today:
1 hour Arc Trainer, cardio program, level 10 30 min Stair Master, 45/50 intervals 1 combined hour of weight lifting and yoga |

What is "Tabata"? What is "HI-IT"? I assume "recumbent" is a recumbent bike. Thanks |

It was my last day of spring break today.
I went to the gym and did 75 minutes on the Stair Master (45/50 intervals), and then a combined 75 minutes of weight lifting, core and back strengthening exercises, and stretching. Jill was talking to someone today. He was not as cool as she usually hangs with. He was an older guy, very normal looking. They were talking about school. Jill was saying something about taking classes, indicating that she was in school. Once I saw that Jill was conversating, I moved my whole set of weights and paraphernalia over to the edge of the mat where I could hear her better while working out. This other woman Sarah, who I always work out next to, got annoyed with this shift because then she had to shift. While shifting Sarah, I said to her, "Hi, I'm Jennifer... since I see you all the time." She paused, like she didn't want to tell me her name and then said simply, "Sarah." She's the one who got mad at me when I brought a black backpack onto the gym floor at the time of the Boston bombings. If any of you recall, she confronted me about it, and I then switched to a little pink bag (I almost wrote, "a little pink bomb," a Freudian slip!). Anyway, Sarah is a type that looks angry all the time. She looks weary of the world. Recently I had a revenge of sorts when she was caught breaking a rule, and she saw me see her get caught breaking a rule. It was more satisfying for me then words can describe because she was so hard on me about that black backpack. She was using her cell phone in the weights area (not allowed!), and a trainer actually called her on it. She tried to talk back to him about it, but he held fast. Wow, what a moment that was for me. Anyway, back to Jill. Jill speaks very softly, so when she's conversating I can never hear more than a few words. It almost makes it worse than having her not be conversating because it's so unsatisfying! If only I had a Whisper2000... |

I love reading your posts about the people at the gym. I really got a big laugh from this one ... too funny!

Walked three miles in Inwood Hill Park.
So lovely, there's a creek that connects with the Hudson River. Also, lifted for about an hour. Wasn't able to do my full routine, but that's okay... Concentrated on my back, chest, and shoulders. |
Tonight an hour on the exercycle while I watched the latest episode of Nurse Jackie, then half of the latest Mad Men episode.
I switch it up every five minutes; I alternate high- and low-resistance segments. When I got off the bike, I was drenched. Then I did stretches and ab work on a mat, while I watched the rest of Mad Men. |
Today at the gym:
40 min on the Stair Master (45/50 intervals) 20 min doing core strengthening and stretching I exercised in the cool area where they have music. Nice to spice things up once in a while. |
yesterday....
I went for a 3 hour hike after work. I guess it counts for exercise....it just feels like fun to me!
Im wanting to go for a hike again today...and clean.my.car. Now THAT feels like exercise....especially when you have a two door car and you have to play twister to get in the backseat lol..... Oh and future exercise update; the neighborhood Im hoping to move to down south abounds with yoga studios :) |
Hello, my friends. Ok, so I haven't gotten into the exercise game on the regular, which I need to.
However, I really have been paying attention to my diet and I am still gaining weight. I know I am older, but it doesn't make sense. I have an appt. with a specialist next week. Although she would have nothing to do with any kind of treatment I might get, I think I am going to ask her to give me a script for some blood work for my thyroid. |
Deadlifted 5kg over my own bodyweight and gave my brand new lifting belt its inaugural use. So, so awesome.
