Talking with a coworker (already) this morning and learning we need to make another run to Iowa with shoes for soles to souls. This is the 3rd run in a year with 2500+ pairs of shoes each time. Smiles, all around!

Okay I got very happy this morning. I posted several music videos on Facebook; all latin artists in salsa and merengue. All artists I have seen in concert in Atlanta, Charlotte and Miami and the cds I have here at home.
That was my life up until the late 90s hitting the latin clubs, dancing until the wee hours of the morning. It was family time; going to the latin clubs with kids, parents and grandparents all dressing up and dancing together. Oscar d'Leon, Ruben Blades, Grupo Niche, Willie Colon, Johnny Pacheco, El Gran Combo, etc.; all great bands and there is no music like it in the world. So this morning I was the DJ on FB and had a lot of fun tripping down memory lane and chair dancing too. |
The other day when it was storming here in Big D I called my foster mom who lives here in Arlington who is a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan and told her, Are you watching the news? she says no Im cooking.. I said you should turn it on, right now... Everyone is evacuating to Arlington Cowboys Stadium. There is a tornado coming through and they are wanting everyone to evacuate there cause there is no hope of a touchdown there... :) LOL She busted out laughing with relief said she thought I was serious...
She called me this morning to tell me she was getting me back.. LOL |

Realizing that I'm a little closer to one of my goals...
I have an app on my new phone that tracks my smoking, since I'm hoping to quit. I realize that for me, quitting cold turkey isn't the best option. I know myself well enough to know that I would "cheat" if I tried that method. I figured I would try cutting down, and then maybe go to patches or something if need be. I realize when looking at the stats today, that in 2 days 22 hours and 41 minutes I have smoked 39 cigarettes. That is soooooo good when knowing that up until recently, I was smoking over 2 packs a day. I like seeing the numbers, and feeling that I am progressing along. Just one step closer to the goal. :) |

It was last night.
I got tossed into a new adventure last night that, at first, freaked me out. I'm currently working the show, Spamalot. (a really good show if you get a chance to see it) I've worked numerous shows as a dresser in the wardrobe dept. Last night was my first crack as a 'principal' dresser. With some encouragement from a very sweet soul, It want really well! It made me smile huge! I can't wait for the show tonight. I'm gonna nail it again.

My Wild and Beautiful Coyote Grrrl makes me smile when she comes when I call her now, and whenever she barks protecting my house. And how she has grown! She was just a lost and skinny young pup last winter! And how my friend got scared sayin there was a big wolf sittin in the front yard :)

been a really stressful, exhausting and devastatingly emotional couple of days for me, i've cried, I've ranted, I've sat in my truck and bawled like a lil baby, and I've wanted to say f*ck it- and walk away... so truth be told... not a damn thing has made me smile... till this evening. I am blessed to have some amazing people who grace me with their friendship.... my fabulous femme sistah, I just adore you- yesterday when I was at that emotional edge with nowhere to go, you stayed with me... even tho I scared you. It's so easy for us, because we just 'get it', we know if somethings wrong, and we know when the other is reacing out... yesterday you knew, and you called... you were there when I needed you to talk me back- and tonite, just now- you made me laugh anyways. Thank you for being a part of my life... I am truly blessed. and then there's another friend, He is equally fabulous, unconditional is not something that is given to me freely..... but you've done that alot- yesterday, today, tonight. You offer me another perspective that I sometimes overlook.... and in doing so, you make this girl that much stronger. without fail I make you chuckle... and you make sure I know that I have an unconditional 'like minded' friend. thank you also for again reaching out tonite- no more tears.... that's what made me smile today. |
