Startrails over Galway
 

Conor Ledwith took this image at Connemara, County Galway, Ireland a few days ago. The remote control was locked in the ‘on’ position while Ledwith light painted the tree and continued through the fields; there is a silhouette in the image of Ledwith light painting the hillside.

The finished result is a total of 89 images at 30-second exposures ISO 3200, f2.8. Ledwith used a Canon 5Dii, with the Canon 16-35 lens.

Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of Ella's biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, Ella tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life:

“I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt ... she personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him—and it was true, due to Marilyn's superstar status—that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman—a little ahead of her times. And she didn't know it."

Bug Bling
 

Caddisfly larvae build protective cases using materials found in their environment.
Artist Hubert Duprat supplied them with gold leaf and precious stones.
This is what they created.

It had a wet diaper... so, I hung it up to dry...

That sounds like so much fun, Ducky! :) I wonder how many people would get involved? It would be really cute to have some little tiny honorary trophy thing for the winner. See, I'm the odd one.

I love would to visit some place like that to stay on vacation! It looks pretty fun.
