The fair ground is one of the more contaminated parts of the town. It had been due to open on 1 May 1986, five days after the disaster, and was never used.

This is a piece of the Esquel meteorite, a meteorite found in Chubut, Argentina in 1951 as a single mass weighing more than 700 kilograms.
It is a pallasite meteorite, and that is why it contains such strange shapes and patterns.
Pallasites are translucent, olivine crystals embedded in an iron-nickel matrix.
