Good luck Dapper, hope everything is okay :)
|
I walked over three miles around the neighborhood today.

Lately I have been on a as can basics,I blew out my left knee and will most likely be having total knee replacement before long even though I am hoping for something called plan B that is diffren't than replacement...what I have no clue as yet.Has anyone hear had a knee replaces or any kind of knee surgery done?Arthritis has ruined both knees but the right one hasn't been a problem yet, later today I am getting it injected to keep the pain at bey cause It may take a while for all the i" to be dotted before its done.I am dreading it whole thing as I know it's going to be a pain full thing to go through plus recovery will take a while.I just hope it's not going to be as bad as I have herd it could be.It can't be any worse than the knee pain I have been going through.

Took my 2 little baby dogs on a long walk around Balboa Park :)
|
Yesterday I lifted for 45 minutes. Chest, back, shoulders again.
It feels great to to be working out again! Today, I walked 5 miles and climbed 25 flights of stairs. I guess today was my cardio day! |
Heading out for a morning run and then onto some much needed mental exercises...so much studying to do this weekend.

It was what is known in our society as a beautiful day, so the gym was nice and empty save for the regulars.
I did an hour on the Stair Master watching Bad TV. That makes time go very slow. I did the Interval program (45/50). Then I did a combined hour of weight lifting, leg exercises, and yoga in peaceful silence. I went to the school I work at beforehand to volunteer and play basketball with the teenagers. But somehow I ended up playing several highly competitive rounds of Candy Land (because I do not allow cheating) with a six-year-old named Mikey while sharing some graham crackers. And I loved every minute of it. |
A properly played board game can be the best exercise!

Another quiet day at the gym. I did an hour on the Stair Master (45/50 intervals) and then a combined hour of weight lifting, planks, abs, and stretching.
I seem to be doing a good bit of socializing in the locker room with Ronnie, a retired reading specialist. Ours is a relationship of simply being next to each other a lot but not having much in common. I learned that she likes it when I wear my Smurf outfit, a silly all bright/light blue and white get-up (and the shoes match too!). She learned that I envy her being retired and spending the rest of her day painting pictures of tigers, which is what she decided to do upon retirement. |
I've been lazy about reporting my workouts. Basically, I've been puttering around my house and doing a lot of walking at work and doing some light weights while watching my shows on television.
Today I hit the gym again. Treadmill T33 and I are developing a lasting relationship, I can tell. 65 minutes, 3.67 miles, 386 calories. 5.6-7.0 mph running intervals Level 3, random program Someone set off the lunk alarm but it was a half-hearted one. More of a weeeeoooo-- instead of a weeeeeeooooooooohhhhhhhh. So, for those that listen to music while you sweat, what do you like to listen to to rev your energy up? I know we've broached this before but it's been a while and we have some new exercisers. My go to is either Krewella or Rihanna for a good, strong beat to run to. |
I've had a nasty cold for the past week and have not gone running at all. It's always tough to get back out on that first run. I keep telling myself, one more day of recovery might be good for me, just to make sure my cough is gone. Nope! Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, I will be out there on the trails again. I will. I promise. :)

My go to, lately, for my morning run has been TV on the Radio...specifically their Return to Cookie Mountain album. |
I didn't intend for my vacation to be so physical, but chasing after and keeping up with my grand kids has turned out to be quite the work out.

I'm back. :cheesy:
My routine these days consists of 2+hrs of physical therapy combined with as much beach walking as I can, usually 2-3 miles. The PT is mostly torturous isometric poses with truly impressive rubber bands until you yell "uncle"... or 30 seconds... whichever comes first. The other fun part is balancing on a foam roll the long way and doing ridiculously simple yet somehow impossible things while counting 50 reps, about ten different ways. Not exactly the workout stuff of legends but it certainly kicks my ass. When I am on my walk I usually just listen to the sounds around me but when I do listen to something it is along the lines of streaming NPR or podcasts like "Freakanomics" and "How stuff works". :theisland: |
Took my dog for a walk during my lunch hour. We both got too hot. I had to spray my shirt with febreze and put it in the dryer when we returned home from our walk. I could not wear it back to work without doing that to it.
|
It was a great day at the gym today, very quiet due to nice weather outside. I did 45 minutes on the Stair Master (Intervals 45/50), followed by a combined 75 minutes of weight lifting, planks, yoga, stretching, and leg and back exercises. I was wearing a new Swatch watch which made things extra special.

Does sitting on the couch watching the start of the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati count?

Good morning exercisers!
I am asking for feedback, please. I need to get back to exercising every day. I do not have more than an hour to spend doing anything. I work 9 and 10- hours per day. Heavy cardiovascular exercises are out for me but I do need to increase my flexibility and strengthen my core. I am very seriously looking at Pilates with a a Reformer and Cadillac chair. My youngest daughter is a certified personal trainer and said that she thinks that I will love it. My research says that I think I will too. My other option is Yoga. Any other suggestions based on what you are doing yourselves? Thanks much! |

One super easy thing you can do at home is to get an exercise ball. You can do that while talking with the gf and/or watching TV and it's good for both of your goals and can be used in combination with either program. |
