Herb Ox granulated chicken bouillon in water, some cucumber and tomato chunks with Italian dressing mixed in, then later orange Jell-O for dessert.

No-bean chili with a spring salad. Jello for desert.

I am going to have a big salad with beets, chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, olives, cheddar cheese, and a hard boiled egg. Balsamic dressing. Iced tea to drink.

It's unseasonably cool and misting rain here. This must be what it is like to live in Seattle. To that end, I have been slowly simmering a pot of spaghetti sauce on the stove. Side will be small garden salad (no romaine lettuce per CDC). Nice cozy meal to end the weekend.

I had a salami and provolone sandwich with some kettle chips, and a rootbeer float.

Roasted carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, and brussel sprouts with a romaine lettuce salad with avocado, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pear, and strawberries and dressed with a splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice and Himalayan sea salt.

I like adding fruit to my salads.

I grilled chicken that I put a Greek seasoning on, roasted sweet potatoes and I fried some cabbage.

I suck at timing things so it's all finished at.the same time. :(

I had pasta primavera from a local cafe. Citrus coconut cake for dessert with chai and water to drink.

I made a new batch of Tumeric Salad dressing that is better, I think, than the first batch...

I'm having Salad tonight.

But tomorrow night, I'm switching it up. I've got an huge block of firm tofu, marinating in this hot, hot Plum Sauce and I plan to cut it up and skewer it on kabob sticks and grill them in the oven until they taste better than Asian cuisine you'd find and pay a pretty price for. :)

Last night....

we went to our favorite LOCAL Italian place. It's always very good....

but I was really longing for some pasta puttanesca which was a special last time we were there. I hate to get into a culinary rut but.....that was some amazing pasta. I should learn to make it....

Oh so my dinner felt lack luster by comparison. A medium rare steak which came out more like medium well and a plate of pasta with plain marinara. I I would have loved a baked tater but....they don't have them.

The pups will have my leftovers today. I wasn't all that excited about it. Sad to say.

Ribs and mac and cheese and pickle beets

Took a road trip to Alabama Saturday and came home with the best BBQ in the world. Seriously the pulled pork is so tender and juicy with a smokey flavor it does not need sauce of any kind. They give you sauce (vinegar based) but none needed. It's a tiny little shack, no indoor seating and two picnic tables in the shade. It's in Scottsboro and the only place I go for BBQ. Had it for dinner Sat., breakfast Sun. and dinner tonight with fresh corn on the cob. Key Lime Pie ice cream for dessert. Yum!

Katniss~~ 3 hours each way to get there and worth every minute of the drive.

It's my Friday, so I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I have discovered several tiny ice cream shops in my neighborhood, I might have to go check one out, when I take my evening stroll.

Leftover spaghetti and meatballs with cheddar cheese melted on top.
Also, applesauce.
